Abstract:
As the final product of purine metabolism,uric acid is not only the cause of gout,but also may play an im-portant role in the occurrence and development of cardiovascular diseases.Some clinical studies have reported that serum uric acid is a predictor of cardiovascular prognosis.At present,the causal relationship between hyperuricemia and cardiovascular diseases is still controversial,but as a potential therapeutic target in clinical practice,lowering u-ric acid treatment and its benign benefits have gradually received attention.This article reviews the current research progress of hyperuricemia and cardiovascular diseases.
