Abstract: Sarcopenia is one of the common complications of cirrhosis. Studies have demonstrated that patients with cirrhosis combined with sarcopenia have a high mortality rate. The occurrence of sarcopenia may be associated with inflammatory states and metabolic abnormalities caused by changes in the gut microbiota environment, but such studies are currently relatively lacking. This article elaborates on the correlation between changes in the gut microbiota environment, as well as the diagnosis and treatment, in order to provide reference and assistance for the treatment of patients with cirrhosis and sarcopenia.
