Abstract:
Objective To explore the status quo of caregivers' intervention behaviors with hospitalized children patients during intravenous transfusion, and to offer a basis for avoiding risks in intravenous transfusion and providing targeted health education.Methods Totally 368 experienced caregivers accompanying new children patients admitted in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University who needed transfusion were investigated with self-designed questionnaires from November 2015 to December 2016.Results It was common for caregivers to take intervention behaviors with the children patients during transfusion and 51.09％ of them believed that interventions should be taken when intravenous transfusion was too slow or too quick. There was statistically significant difference in the intervention behaviors between children patients of different ages (F=4.006,P<0.05).Conclusions Caregivers have not fully realized the risks brought to children patients by their intervention behaviors during transfusion. Therefore, it is particularly important to reduce the risks in transfusion by evaluating caregivers' intervention behaviors and enhancing targeted health education.
