Abstract:
Objective To investigate the mastery status of elderly nursing knowledge in the elderly caregivers. Methods By convenient sampling method, a total of 450 caregivers who took care of disabled elderly patients were selected and investigated by questionnaire in 9 provinces ( Jiangsu, Anhui, Hubei, Hu′nan, Shandong, Hebei, He′nan, Tianjin, Heilongjiang ) . Results This study totally distributed 470 questionnaire and collected 450 with an effective rate of 95. 7%. Of total score 33 points, the average score of the knowledge was (17. 35 ± 6. 12) point. Compared the mastery level of elderly nursing knowledge, differences in caregivers with different gender and different age group had no statistical significance (P >0. 05). The differences existed in caregivers with different education background with statistical significance (P<0. 05). Conclusions Disabled elderly caregiver′s nursing knowledge level is different which needs to be improved.
