Abstract:
Objective To explore the effect of medication management training on social function and quality of life for patients with schizophrenia. Methods A total of 80 schizophrenia inpatients were randomly divided into study group and control group on average, and two groups were treated by medicine and usual care, but 3 months medication management training was only carried out in the study group. The results of interventions were evaluated by BPRS, SDSS, and GQOLI-74 before treatment, after three months′ treatment, half a year and a year from discharge. Results After 1 year follow-up, the BPRS was (30. 35 ± 9. 43) score, SDSS (1. 16 ± 1. 97) score in the study group lower than these of the control group ( t= -4. 16, 5. 66;P<0. 01);the GQOLI of the study group was (72. 86 ± 11. 34) compared with (64. 85 ± 10. 97) in the control group (t = 3. 10,P < 0. 01). Conclusions Medication management training can effectively improve the symptoms, social function and quality of life for patients with schizophrenia.
