Abstract:
Fat repositioning is increasingly advocated as an adjunctive technique in low eyelid blepharoplasty for its excellent rejuvenating effect on tear trough and baggy eyelids. As the tear trough ligaments and facial spaces were defined, various modified techniques of fat repositioning had been reported, especially in transconjunctival lower blepharoplasty. This article reviewed the history and anatomy of orbital fat repositioning and analyzed the technique-related dissection approaches, septal reset, fat repositioning planes, fixation method, and complications, which may provide a theory guide in clinic practice.
