Abstract:
Objective To explore the intervention measures for musculoskeletal disorders in coal miners in order to provide the scientific basis for prevention and control of musculoskeletal disorders. Methods According to preliminary studies on risk factors of musculoskeletal disorders in coal miners, the corresponding measures were taken. The occupational health education were conducted for 538 mine workers by on-site training, distributing promotional materials, posters and other activities, the effects of intervention on musculoskeletal disorders control were assessed. ResultsAwareness rate (52.3%) of musculoskeletal disorders in coal miner after the intervention was significantly higher than that (33.8%) before the intervention (P<0.05). The attitude of coal miners on prevention of the disease has been improved. Conclusion The occupational health education is useful for enhancing the awareness of coal miners on the and changing the attitude on prevention of the disease, which is the economic and effective intervention measure for coal mines.
