Abstract: HIV/AIDS has become a worldwide pandemic. It is crucial to develop new modes of treatment and prevention, since antiretroviral drugs cannot eradicate HIV infection. Broadly neutralizing antibodies (bnAb) are increasingly implicated in anti-HIV-1, and also shed light on the design of novel HIV-1 vaccines. In the following, we briefly review the progress in isolation and epitope specificity of broadly neutralizing antibodies against HIV-1.
