Abstract:
Objective To investigate the levels of human tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin-10 (IL-10) in the serum of Han and Uygur tuberculosis (TB) patients, and to analyze the relationship between sexes. Methods A total of 132 Han patients and 122 Uygur patients with TB were enrolled in this study. The levels of TNF-α and IL-10 in serum were measured by commercially available enzyme linked immune-sorbent assay (ELISA).Results The serum TNF-α of the Han and Uygur patients were (21.72 ±7.18),(29.86 ±8.61)pg · mL-1;IL-10 levels in the Han and Uygur patients were (34.90±11.18) pg·mL-1,(41.65±18.11) pg· mL-1.There were significant differences between the Han and the Uygur patients (P <0.05).The concentration of serum IL-10 in male and female patients were (44.93 ± 18.56),(38.95 ± 13.13) pg · mL-1,and significant difference was found between the two genders (P < 0.05) in Uygur, while there was no significant difference in TNF-α.Moreover,no significant difference was found in IL-10 and TNF-α between the two genders in Han patients. Conclusion There were significant differences in the serum TNF-α and IL-10 between the Han and the Uygur patients, while significant difference was also found in the serum TNF-α between the two genders in Han and Uygur TB patients.
