- Abstract: OBJECTIVE :To explore the key points of pharmaceutical care of drug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome caused by vancomycin. METHODS The clinical pharmacists performed pharmaceutical care for a case of vancomycin-induced drug hypersensitivity syndrome in a child, adjusted the child′s medication regimens, monitored antimicrobial blood concentrations and adjusted the administered dose, and performed a relevant literature analysis. RESULTS After early identification and discontinuation of the suspected sensitizing drugs, the child was discharged from the hospital after symptomatic supportive treatment. CONCLUSION Children with drug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome have the special characteristics of children, clinicians and clinical pharmacists should focus on the medication safety of the special group to achieve early detection and early treatment.
