7.Application of total quality management for increasing the rate of Thai and H'mong mother in the use of clean delivery package

An application of total quality management increased the rate of Thai and H'mong mother who using the clean delivery package from 23.18% to 87.86%. This study analyzed data to find the root causes such as finding of many other subjects who participated to the support for delivering, the method of total quality management showed effectively and practically to manage the difficult problem

8.Investigating the energy supplement for 0 to12-month children and some social factors that related to child-feeding knowledge of mothers at two communes of hoang hoa district, thanh hoa province

The energy allowance for under 6 month children is 34565Kcal, achieves 55.6% of level recommended by National Institute of Nutrition. The energy allowance for 6 to 12 month children is 59441Kcal, achieves 72% of recommended level. The dietary supplement form is multiple. The mean lipid content in allowances of under 6-month children and in 6 to 12 month children achieve only 30% and 43% of recommended level, respectively. More than 92% of mothers give their babies the first meal with sugar solution. The duration of exclusive breastfeeding is short. Early breastfeeding discontinuation is common here (80%).

9.Food consumption of mothers and children under five years in two different socio-economic groups at Bai Say commune, Hung Yen, November, 1998.

The third observation of a longitudinal study on food and nutrition security of two different socio-economic groups of households at Bai Say commune, Hung Yen province showed that: the average energy intake is low and there is a significant higher in the rich group. Especially, mothers and children in poor intake the food that is very poor on quantity, quality nutrients. Energy derived from protein of the two groups is about 11-12% of total energy but that from fat/oil is very low: 6-7% of total energy, making the proportion of P: L: G imbalance. The energy intake of children from 2 to 3 years of age in both groups is low, meets only 60-67% of RDA.

10.Mother's management for children under five years who suffered from the disease

A study on mothers with children under five years who suffered the disease in 2 villages of Viªn and §«ng at Cæ NhuÕ commune, Hµ Néi has shown that rate of children under five years suffered from the disease was 12.80%. Rate of bronchitis, pneumonia among children under 5 years were highest, followed by pharyngitis (25.6%), amygdalitis (9.6%). The rate of mother who transferred their children to the communal health station was 61.60%, to the private clinics (24.40%) and to hospital (6.4%).
