One new species of the genus Coreomyces was collected on Micronecta sedula from the island of Java; C. javanicus sp. nov. is very similar to and apparently closely related to C. corixae. This species is characterized by a receptacle that is bent towards one side with cell I, nearly rounded. The length of cell I is equal to that of cell II and the perithecia are longitudinal, elliptical or cylindrical. Thalli consistently occurred on the margin of the left elytron of the hosts.

To allow for a quick conversion of the proprietary sequence data from various sequencing platforms, sequence format conversion toolkits are required that can be easily integrated into workflow systems. In this respect, a format conversion tool, as well as quality conversion tool would be the minimum requirements to integrate reads from different platforms. We have developed the Pyrus NGS Sequencing Format Converter, a simple software toolkit which allows to convert three kinds of Next Generation Sequencing reads, into commonly used fasta or fastq formats. The converter modules are all implemented, uniformly, in Java GUI modules that can be integrated in software applications for displaying the data content in the same format.

The demographic transition occurs all over the world, including Indonesia. The Indonesian Ministry of Health announced that Indonesia has been dominated by an aging society since 2017. The proportion of elderly has reached 9.03%. This commentary study aimed to see the general conditions of healthcare providers (primary healthcare centers and hospitals) in facing the aging society. Results showed that the primary healthcare centers and public hospitals are not ready yet to face the aging society. In fact, primary health care is not friendly to the elderly in terms of the facilities and the limited services of home visits. This study recommended the government and stakeholders to provide the optimal quality and quantity of health care services to the elderly who have dominated the population.

OBJECTIVE: The development of a dictionary of clinical terminology based on medical concepts is essential for understanding the precise meanings of the clinical terminologies used in EMR systems. For an unambiguous presentation and retrieval of the terminologies in practical data entry, this study propose a clinical terminology dictionary, which integrates and manages the wide range of data in EMR Systems. METHODS: The structure of the system and attributes were defined. The structures should satisfy the following: all terminologies should be consistent with the medical concepts, all concepts have multiple relationships, all concepts have many synonyms, all concepts can be mapped to concepts in an external medical terminology system, and all concepts can be grouped as value sets by setting the "domain". RESULTS: With the derived entity objects and attributes, the physical clinical terminology database was constructed and an editor was developed using MySQL 5.0.45 and JAVA Swing. To verify the structure and contents of the developed clinical terminology dictionary, the terminology experts used the editor to search and register the medical concepts. CONCLUSION: Although the contents refinement and complements are an unsolved problem, it is anticipated that the proposed research will provide unambiguous meanings of the clinical terminology and be applicable to many services in EMR systems.

Low levels of serum 25(OH)D in women are reported in temperate countries, and increasingly so in tropical countries but few such studies have been reported in Indonesia. This study was aimed at assessing the serum vitamin D status and its associated factors in a sample of Indonesian women Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 156 apparently healthy women during the dry season in North Sumatera. The measurements carried out included exposure to sun's rays, intake of vitamin D food sources, reported physical activity, body fatness (by bioelectrical impedance analysis), and serum 25(OH)D levels (by chemiluminescent immunoassay). Serum 25(OH)D levels were categorised into: deficient(<20 ng/mL), insufficient (20-32 ng/mL), sufficient (32-100 ng/ mL), and normal for tropical countries (54-90 ng/mL). Statistical analysis included Pearson correlation, independent t-test, and one way ANOVA tests. Results: The mean age of the subjects was 35.6±7.7 years, with about 70% working indoors. About half of the women were obese. The majority had low vitamin D intake. More than half had sun ray exposure of less than 1 hour, and moreover, nearly two-thirds of them wore the 'hijab' that covers most parts of their body. The majority of women reported low physical activity level. The mean serum 25(OH)D level of the subjects was 17.71 ng/mL (95% CI: 16.22, 19.34 ng/mL). Of the total, 95% (148) were in the vitamin D deficient-insufficient category, with the remaining 5% in the sufficient category. An association was found between occupation, dietary intake of vitamin D, sun ray exposure, and physical activity levels with serum vitamin D concentrations. Conclusion: The results showed that vitamin D deficiency can occur in women living in a tropical country if they have sun-avoiding lifestyles, work indoors, and have low dietary intake of vitamin D.

Four species of Laboulbeniales collected from Java Island, Indonesia between August and September in 2006 are described. These species, which belong to the genus Coreomyces and were found on the family Corixidae of the order Hemiptera, were as follows; Coreomycus corixae Thaxter, Coreomyces micronectae Thaxter and Coreomyces orientalis Thaxter, which were found on Micronecta sedula Horvath, and Coreomyces recurvatus Thaxter, which was found on Micronecta sedula Horvath and Xenocorixa sp. C. corixae Thaxter and C. orientalis Thaxter were originally found on Micronecta, whereas C. recurvatus Thaxter was originally found on Xenocorixa. All species described herein are new to Java Island. The specimens were deposited in the Biological Herbarium, Division of Science Education, College of Education, Chosun University.

Aims: The aim of this study was to screen lactic acid bacteria (LAB) isolates with probiotic properties for tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) from the intestines of mackerel and to analyze its ability to produce hydrolase enzymes (amylase, protease, cellulase and lipase). Methodology and results: Ten samples of mackerel were collected from the Fish Auction Place, Lewoleba, Nubatukan District, Lembata Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. The process for screening were antimicrobial activity, pH tolerance test of 1, 3 and 5, bile salt concentrations of 2.5%, 5% and 7.5%, and water salinity (0.5%, 3.5% and 6.5%). The autoaggregation and semi-qualitative test of hydrolase enzymes were also carried out. In total, 21 LAB isolates were derived from mackerel intestines. Isolates that have the stronger ability to inhibit the pathogen Aeromonas hydrophila ATCC 7966 are KBP 3.3, KBP 3.3.1 and KBP 6.3, while KBP 1.3, KBP 1.1.1 and KBP 3.3.1 were able to inhibit Streptococcus agalactiae ATCC 13813. The LAB isolates that survived at the tested pH were KBP 3.3.1, KBP 3.3, KBP 1.1.1 and KBP 1.3. Results also suggest that the four isolates were tolerant to bile salt concentrations and water salinity with good survival rates (>94.7%) and had proteolytic, lipolytic and cellulolytic activities. The isolates KBP 3.3, KBP 3.3.1 and KBP 1.1.1 were identified as Weissella confusa 6250, while the isolate KBP 1.3 was identified as W. confusa C5-7. Conclusion, significance and impact of study The characteristics of four selected isolates indicate their potential as a probiotic. These potential probiotic isolates can be applied directly to fish by utilizing microencapsulation technology or adding to the feed.

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) in pregnancy has serious impact on both mother and baby if not optimally managed. The Indonesian Task Force on Reproductive Diseases determined that diabetes in pregnancy represents a priority area in need of updated evidence-based practice guidelines. The aim of the guidelines is to provide the best evidence-based recommendations for diagnostic evaluation and management of diabetes in pregnancy. The following article summarizes the guidelines.

OBJECTIVE: Our purpose is to propose the guideline for developing web services components from HL7 (Health Level 7) standard. METHODS: All business processes describing in HL7 are modeled using UML (Unified Modeling Language). Both UML diagrams and web services profiles can be presented with XML (Extensible Markup Language). Therefore we suggest a framework to derive web services from HL7 standards semi-automatically. RESULTS: We show that skeletal XML documents for web services can be generated from HL7 standards. Additionally we propose a way to program with Java for web services using given web service profiles. CONCLUSION: This paper presents the methodology of developing HL7-compatible electronic health record systems using web services.
