From Feb.2002 to 31 Dec.2003, HaTay Preventive Medicine Centre developed a pilote model encouraging an ubiquitous (100%) use of condom in some entertainment establishments in HaDong and SonTay. The rate of condom users enhanced among sex workers from 78% to 95%; the quantity of condoms sold in those entertainment places increased, the incidence of STD decreased in the group of entertainment receivers and sex workers, blenorhage from 17,8% to 11,2%, flagellosis 16,4% to 5,2%, syphilis 0,28% to 0,176%, HIV infection 2% to 1%

According to the situation of 34 batches of natural rubber latex condoms tested by our center in 2018, the unqualified items in the product inspection items and the exploratory research results of D4 and D5 content in silicone oil lubricants are analyzed. We make recommendations on product technical requirements or standards to strengthen the quality supervision of products.

Designed a contrast pinhole detect testing including water leak method, electrical method and improved electrical method, and concluded that the water leak method is most suitable as the arbitration method, and recommended the national standard add the requirement on electrolytic liquid filling volume of electrical test in order to improve detection accuracy.

It was found that several problems exist in the implementation of GB 7544-2004 in the aspects of requirements of natural latex materials and safety of rubber condom products, microorganisms to be controlled and the packaging and label. As a result, the suggestions were put forward.

Study was carried out with 480 long road drivers, 5,2% of these drivers had used the drug. Among them 24% were intravenous drug users within 12 months. Among them 78,7% had at least one sexpartner. 97,7% used condom in the last intercourse with sexworker and 25,8% with their wife or girlfriend and 40% with sudden sex partner. These data must be referred at once in HIV control.

The purpose of this study was to assess the impact of AIDS-related knowledge and attitudes of prostitutes on condom use from diverse 'sex markers' in Korea. The data were collected by interviewers at five different 'sex markets'. During March 1993, research assistants at the Institute of Health Services Research interviewed 371 prostitutes visiting sexually transmitted disease (STD) clinics. Multiple regression method was used in identifying the determinants of condom use. The level of condom use was regressed on personal characteristics of prostitutes, AIDS-related perceptions, and market type. Prostitutes' level of condom use turned out to be different across the markets featuring diverse types of services and fees. Neither perceived vulnerability nor perceived seriousness of AIDS had significant effects on condom use. Our findings suggested that the many AIDS-preventive educational efforts by STD clinics are ineffective. Hence, individual STD clinics need to develop AIDS-preventive education programs which are suitable for the unique circumstances of their respective 'sex markets'.

PURPOSE: This study was done to explore the rates and methods of contraception among Korean adolescents from 2007 to 2009. METHODS: The study was a descriptive study. The data were taken from a web-based survey on risk behavior of Korean youth that was conducted between 2007 and 2009 by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. RESULTS: Among adolescents, 4.7% in 2007, 4.6% in 2008, and 4.7% in 2009 reported having had sexual intercourse. In those who had sexual experiences, less than 30% reported consistent use of contraception, whereas more than 45% report no contraceptive use at all. A condom was the most frequently used contraceptive method and its use has increased continuously among contraceptive users. Some of the adolescents were, nevertheless, using unreliable methods such as withdrawal or the rhythm method. CONCLUSION: The results of this study indicate that most adolescents are not using contraception consistently and some were relying on unreliable contraceptive methods. Efforts to raise awareness about consistent and correct contraceptive use and the importance of dual protection are essential.
