Journal of Forensic Medicine 2002;18(1):4-6
OBJECTIVE:
To research the expression of alternative splicing segment of fibronectin-IIIcs in incised wound of skin, to offer the experimental data for early injury time judgement.
METHODS:
Using in situ hybridization with DIG-labeled anti-sense RNA probe, the expression of FN-IIIcs domain was detected in both human and rat skin incised wound.
RESULTS:
(1) The expression of FN-IIIcs improved from the time of 30 min after injury, reached peak at 6 h and then reduced gradually. (2) The positive expression cells were mainly distributed in hair follicles, sebaceous glands and endothelium, however, in human beings they were basement cells of epidermis.
CONCLUSION
The expression of FN-IIIcs domain would be a supposed useful criteria for early injury time judgement.

Journal of Forensic Medicine 2014;30(4):282-287
Allele-specific polymerase chain reaction (AS-PCR) is a technique based on allele-specific primers, which can be used to analyze single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) effectively including the transition, transversion and insertion/deletion polymorphism and has been exploited in the study of diseases research, molecular diagnosis, and forensic biological evidence. The article systematically reviews the principle, the detection methods, improvement of AS-PCR, and its research updates in the fields of autosome, Y chromosome and mitochondrial SNP, as well as its application in forensic science.

5.The alternative splicing & expression of fibronectin IIIcs segment and its relationship with wound healing.
Journal of Forensic Medicine 2001;17(4):245-248
Fibronectin is an important large adhesive glycoprotein of the extracellular matrix, which is alternatively spliced in three regions, designated EIIIA, EIIIB and IIIcs respectively. IIIcs contains two binding domains for a variety of cell surface and extracellular ligands. Through this multiplicity of adhesive activities, IIIcs can fulfill key roles in a broad spectrum of physiological processes, such as cell spreading and migration, differentiation and embryogenesis, wound healing, malignant transformation and metastasis, etc. Here, we will discuss the structure, biological property, and function of IIIcs splicing variants and its forensic applications.

Objective To investigate the effect of arsenic trioxide(As_2 O_3)nanoparticles on rabbit vascular smooth muscle cells in vitro in comparison with normal form As_2 03.Methods The rabbit vascular smooth muscle cells were cultured in vitro.Nano and normal forms of As_2O_3 with drug concentrations of 3?mol/L were added into the cells.Cell proliferation curve was drawn according to the light absorption values of MTT test.Flow cytometry was applied to observe the apoptosis.DNA was extracted and underwent electrophoresis. Results Cell proliferation treated with the 3?mol/L concentration of As_2O_3 was inhibited. Cell growth was inhibited markedly with increased treatment time, and the inhibition effect of nano drug form seemed stronger than that of normal form.MTT light absorption values of cells treated at 24,48 and 72 h showed statistically significant difference(H=10.934,15.039,15.539,P

Objective To investigate the effects of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) on motor function of upper limbs of stroke patients. Methods 80 stroke patients were randomly divided into experimental group and control group. Both groups accepted routine rehabilitation, while the experimental group accepted anodal stimulation, and the control group received sham stimulation. They were assessed with Brunnstrom stages of arms and hands, Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA) of upper extremities, Action Research Arm Test (ARAT), Motor Assessment Scale (MAS) and modified Barthel Index (MBI) before and 1 month after treatment. Results All the scores improved in both groups after treatment (P<0.05), and improved more in the Brunnstrom stages of arms and hands, FMA, ARAT in the experimental group than in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion tDCS may promote the recovery of arms and hands function of stroke patients.

Journal of Forensic Medicine 2001;17(4):196-197
OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the expression of c-fos in rats' skin during wound healing.
METHODS:
Immunohistochemistry was conducted on paraffin section from incised wounding model of rat skin.
RESULTS:
Fos protein improved from the time of 10 min after wounding in the wound edge, then it reached peak at 3 h. 24 h after injury, the quantity of Fos expression had no difference with that of normal skin.
CONCLUSION
Fos is sensitive after wound, but should be used with other criteria in wounding interval estimation as it's unstediness.

Journal of Forensic Medicine 2018;34(6):644-647
Objective To analyze the forensic characteristics of 24 psychiatric patients who died of long-term use of psychotropic drugs. Methods Cases of sudden death of psychiatric patients from2011 to 2016 were collected. The forensic characteristics of these sudden deaths were retrospectively analyzed by systematic investigation plus results of autopsy and toxics (drugs). Results Among the 24psychiatric patients who died of long-term use of psychotropic substances, the ratio of male to female was 1.7∶1, and the average age was (59.0±8.8) years.Fifteen patients had clear disease durations (14.4±8.2) years, and other the nine were known to have disease durations of over 3 years. The death time of 62.5%of patients was the daytime in working days, and 91.7%of the patients died at home. Most patients complained different degrees of physical discomfort before death.Patients with schizophrenia (20 cases) were the most common, followed by depression (4 cases). All patients had the history of taking psychotropic drugs, with clozapine and chlorpromazine being the mostly detected ones. The causes of death were mainly circulatory diseases (15 cases), with the most common being myocarditis (11 cases) followed by pneumonia (4 cases). Conclusion Critical attention should be paid to the risk of antipsychotics-induced sudden unexpected deaths for psychiatric patients, particularly for those with schizophrenia.
