Objective:To prepare magnetic poly D, L-lactide-co-glycolide oxymatrine nanoparticle(M-PLGA-OM-NP) and investigate its preventive effects against experimental liver fibrosis. Methods: The M-PLGA-OM-NP was prepared by multiple emulsion process and observed by transmission electron microscope(TEM). Dimethylnitrosamine (DMN)-induced liver fibrosis was established with mice. After intervention with M-PLGA-OM-NP, the expression of α-smooth muscle actin (a-SMA) in the livers of mice was detected by immunohistochemical assay and the score of liver fibrosis was determined by H-E staining and Van Gieson (VG) staining. Results: The prepared M-PLGA-OM-NP was in a regular sphere shape, with a mean diameter of 146.5 nm; the drug loading was 7.61% and the encapsulation ratio was 44.8%. The serum Alt level in the M-PLGA-OM-NP group was decreased compared with that in the model group. Light microscopy revealed that the fibrosis in the M-PLGA-OM-NP group was greatly improved compared with the model group and pure oxymatrine group. The expression of a-SMA, the marker of hepatic stellate cell activation, was obviously decreased in the M-PLGA-OM-NP group compared with that in the other groups.Conclusion: The prepared M-PLGA OM-NP under magnetic field can reinforce the preventive effect of oxymatrine against DMNinduced experimental liver fibrosis in mice. Objective To investigate the incidence of brain injury and analyze the risk factors in very low birth weight infants (VLBWI),in order to explore methods to improve neurodevelopmental outcome.Methods This was a retrospective study in which we reviewed the incidence of brain injury in 326 VLBWI who admitted to our NICU from October 2007 to September 2014.The differences of general characteristics,high-risk perinatal factors,complications of prematurity and respiratory support in brain injury group (n =132) and no brain injury group(n =194) were analyzed,and Logistic regression was used to analyze the related risk factors.Results In 326 VLBWI,premature brain injury was observed in 132 cases(incidence of 40.49％).Hemorrhagic brain injury was observed in 80 cases(incidence of 24.54％,80/326),in whom total 66 cases (20.25％,66/326) with periventricular-intraventricular hemorrhage (PVH-IVH),41 cases with PVH-IVH grade Ⅰ-Ⅱ,25 cases with PVH-IVH grade Ⅲ-ⅣV.Non-hemorrhagic brain injury was observed in 52 cases (incidence of 15.95 ％,52/326),in whom 46 cases with periventdcular leukomalacia (14.11％,46/326).There were no statistically significant differences in general characteristics except gender differences between the two groups.Further analysis of the 28 factors including high-risk perinatal factors,premature complications and respiratory support between the two groups,showed that there were significant differences in 16 factors including asphyxia,chorioamnionitis,antenatal steroid use,neonatal respiratory distress syndrome,hypoxemia,apnea,pulmonary hemorrhage,patent ductus artedosus,hypotension,acidosis,hypocapnia,anemia,hyperglycemia,thrombocytopenia,high frequency ventilation and extrautedne growth retardation.Further binary Logistic regression analysis showed that antenatal steroids use was negatively correlated with brain injury,chorioamnionitis,acidosis,and patent ductus arteriosus were positively correlated with brain damage,the relative risks of premature brain injury was 0.108,7.222,3.045 and 4.565 respectively.Conclusion The mortality rate and the incidence of brain injury in VLBWI are still high.Chorioamnionitis,acidosis and patent ductus arteriosus are closely associated with premature brain damage.Antenatal steroids can prevent premature brain injury.We should pay much attention to these risk factors in the perinatal management of VLBWI,in order to decrease the incidence of premature brain injury.

Objective To observe the difference of efficacy of three different treatment of internal fixation of intervetebral crasis on cervical spondylosis (spinal cord) .Methods From January 2009 to January 2013 ,There are 167 cases of patients admitted to hospital from cervical spondylosis (spinal cord ) ,randomly selected different fusion fixation methods are divided into three groups :in the first group ,there were 55 patients treated with autologous iliac bone graft fusion plate fixation ;in the second group , there were 60 patients treated with zero profile material PEEK interbody fusion with autologous bone graft ;in the third group ,the 52 patients were treated with the PEEK material MC + self‐locking cervical interbody fusion with autologous bone graft .Observa‐tion and comparison indicators include :spinal cord function JOA scores before and after surgery ,surgical segment intervertebral height and cervical curvature condition .Results Follow‐up lasted from 13 to 50 months ,the average length was 26 months .The difference in operation time ,blood loss during surgery analysis ,wherein the first group and the second or third group of three groups was statistically significant (P<0 .05) ,the difference between the second group and the third group was not statistically significant (P>0 .05) .In the first group ,there were 17 patients had transient throat discomfort and symptom disappeared 48 hours later ;dysphagia relieved or disappeared in one week ;there were two cases of screws and titanium loosen one week after operation , and were treated with immediate revision surgery .In the second ,third group ,there were 19 cases and 13 cases showed temporary throat discomfort disappeared within 48 hours after surgery respectively ,there was no dysphagia .No patient experienced cerebrospi‐nal fluid leakage ,hematoma and wound infection .The postoperative JOA scores spinal cord function (17 points France) ,surgical segmental cervical intervertebral height and curvature of three groups improved significantly compared with preoperative evaluation index ,and there was no significant difference among three groups (P>0 .05) .In the last follow‐up ,the interbody fusion rates of the first ,second and third groups were 67 .1% ,66 .3% and 65 .9% ,the difference between groups was not statistically significant (P>0 .05) .Conclusion Anterior decompression and interbody fusion locking device applications showed good performance in maintai‐ning the intervertebral height segment surgery ,rehabilitation cervical curvature ,and promote bone fusion with autogenous titanium plate fixation comparison .Patients can get a good surgery ,and the former has a simpler surgical fixation method ,shorter time ,less bleeding and less complications .

In order to breed and spread a new cultivar of Curcuma wenyujin, the C. wenyujin germplasm resources were investigated in authentic regions. Better varieties were chosen by comparing the yield, economic characters and quality differences between different cultivars. The results showed that the character of new selected cultivar was stable, the yield of zedoary, turmeric and curcuma was reached 313.7, 177.9, 91.2 kg per 667 m2, respectively, it increased 11.6%, 10.2%, 14.2% comparing with farmer varieties. The volatile oil contents in zedoary and turmeric was 4.0%, 3.0%, respectively. The target ingredients (germacrone) content was stable. It is demonstrated that the new cultivar "Wenyujin No. 1" has value for extension at authentic regions.

Objective To investigate ultrasound as a therapy for white lesions of the vulva.Methods Immunohistochemistry and hybridization in situ were used to study changes in VEGF protein and mRNA in the vulva skin of rabbits after ultrasound irradiation.Results After irradiation,VEGF protein and mRNA had increased markedly after 4 and 7 days,but their levels recovered by day 14.Conclusion Ultrasound irradiation causes local edema and hypoxia which enhance production of VEGF.VEGF promotes growth of local microvessels and increases the permeability of the endothelial cells of blood vessels.These changes improve nutrition of the mierovessels and nerve endings and ameliorate the microenvironment for tissue growth.One could speculate that ultrasound irradiation helps rehabilitation and regeneration of pathologic vulva skin.

This study aims to establish a new method for quality evaluation of Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix by simultaneous determination of five iridoids (loganic acid, 6'-O-beta-D-glucopyranosylgentiopicroside, swertiamarin, gentiopicroside, sweroside), and to detect five iridoids in the root of eight species (Gentiana macrophylla, G. straminea, G. crassicaulis, G. dahurica, G. robusta, G. waltonii, G. lhassica, and G. tibetica). The separation was carried out on a Shiseido SPOLAR C18 (4.6 mm x 250 mm, 5 microm) column eluted with mobile phase of water containing 0.04% formic acid (A) and acetonitrile (B) in a gradient program. The flow rate was 0.8 mL x min(-1). The detect wavelength was set at 240 nm. The column temperature was kept at 30 degrees C. The volume of injection was 5 microL. The five iridoids were well separated with ideal linear correlations. The average recoveries were 97.35% - 106.23%. All the five iridoids were detected in the root of eight species. The contents of same species changed in a somewhat wider range. The contents in root of G. dahurica were lower than that in other species.

OBJECTIVETo observe the expression profiles of osteoblast-related genes in human mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) derived from bone marrow during osteogenic differentiation.

METHODSMSCs were induced to differentiate with MSC osteogenic differentiation medium for 7, 14, 21 and 28 days respectively. Alizarin Red staining was used to detect matrix mineralization. Expression of osteoblast-related genes, including osteocalcin, osteopontin, Runt-related transcription factor 2 (Runx2), alkaline phosphatase and collagen type 1, was assessed with quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction.

RESULTSOn day 14 after induction of differentiation, cells were stained positively with Alizarin Red. The expression levels of these genes exhibited an upward trend as induction time was prolonged. Exposure to osteogenic differentiation medium less than 21 days did not significantly induce osteocalcin expression; osteocalcin expression levels in the differentiated cells induced for 21 and 28 days were 1.63 and 2.46 times as high as the undifferentiated cells respectively (all P<0.05). Stimulation with MSC osteogenic differentiation medium over 14 days significantly enhanced bone marrow-derived MSCs to express osteopontin and Runx2 genes (all P<0.05). Osteogenic differentiation medium could significantly induce the expressions of alkaline phosphatase and collagen type1 genes (all P<0.05). Their expressions reached the peak levels on day 21, which were increased more than 4- and 3-fold respectively.

CONCLUSIONHuman bone marrow-derived MSCs could exhibit the sequential expression pattern of osteoblast marker genes during osteogenic differentiation in vitro.

The viral RNA was extracted from purified cymbidium mosa ic virus (CyMV) isolated from Dendrobium orchid cultivated in Hainan island. The gene of the movement protein (MP) was amplified by means of reverse transcripti on-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), and cloned into pGEM-T easy vector. Se quence analysis showed that the gene fragment contained 3 open reading frames (O RFs) which may be encoding 14 kD、12 kD and 10 kD peptides. The nucleotide seque nce of the cloned gene fragment shared 97.8% homology with the MP genes of CyMV isolated from orchids cultivated in Hawaii and Singapore.

This study was carried out to evaluate the anti-inflammatory and free radical scavenging activities of flavans from flex centrochinensis S. Y. Hu in vitro and their structure-activity relationship. LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophage was used as inflammatory model. MTT assay for cell availability, Griess reaction for nitric oxide (NO) production, the content of TNF-alpha, IL-1beta, IL-6 and PGE, were detected with ELISA kits; DPPH, superoxide anion and hydroxyl free radicals scavenging activities were also investigated. According to the result, all flavans tested exhibited anti-inflammatory effect in different levels. Among them, compounds 1, 3, 4 and 6 showed potent anti-inflammatory effect through the inhibition of NO, TNF-alpha, IL-lp and IL-6, of which 1 was the most effective inhibitor, however, 2 and 5 were relatively weak or inactive. The order of free radical scavenging activities was similar to that of anti-inflammatory activities. Therefore, these results suggest that 3, 4 and 6, especially of 1, were,in part responsible for the anti-inflammatory and free radical scavenging activity of Ilex centrochinensis. Hydroxyl group at 4'-position of B-ring plays an important role in the anti-inflammatory and free radical scavenging capacities.

Objective To analyse the effect of holmium laser incision through ureteroscopy and simple ureteroscopy treatment for refrac-tory hemospermia. Methods From December 2003 to April 2013,the data of 67 cases with refractory hemospermia were retrospectively ana-lyzed. All the patients underwent semen analysis,transrectal ultrasonography,seminal vesicle ultrasonography,some patients underwent pelvic CT or MRI. Results Simple ureteroscopy were done for 24 cases,holmium laser incision through ureteroscopy were done for 43 cases. Var-ying degrees of ejaculatory duct stenosis or obstruction were observed. Postoperative follow-up was from 6 months to 8 years,in 24 cases of simple ureteroscopy,2 cases experienced recurrence 6 or 8 months later. The ejaculatory duct narrow were found when they received reopera-tion,with holmium laser incision,hemospermia disappeared. No complications such as retrograde ejaculation,urinary incontinence or rectal injury occurred postoperatively. Conclusion The effect of holmium laser incision through ureteroscopy for refractory hemospermia is better than simple ureteroscopy,which is worthy of clinical application needs further observation and summary.
