Chinese Journal of Radiology 2010;44(11):1135-1139
Objective To compare the diagnostic value of conventional MR imaging with MR arthrography for acetabular labral tears at 3.0 T MR imaging Methods Forty-four patients suspected of acetabular labral pathology were prospectively scanned with conventional MR imaging and MR arthrography of the affected hip joints. All MR data were retrospectively studied. Each acetabular labrum was divided into three regions of anterior, superior, and posterior, and the acetabular tear and its classification were recorded. Five patients underwent subsequent hip arthroscopy. Wilcoxon signed ranks test was used to compare the difference between MR imaging and MR arthrography, and Kappa value was adopted for the evaluation of agreement of these two techniques. Results One hundred and sixteen regions of acetabular labrum were evaluated to be concordant at MR imaging and MR arthrography. Only 16 regions had different results at MR imaging and MR arthrography, in which 9 were diagnosed to have tears at MR arthrography but non-tear at MR imaging, and 6 had tears at MR imaging but non-tear at MR arthrography, and the other one had tears at both exams but of different classifications. In 5 patients confirmed by hip arthroscopy, both the evaluations of MR imaging and MR arthrography were accordant with that of arthroscopy. There were no statistical difference between MR imaging and MR arthrography ( Z = 0. 347, P > 0. 05 ) for diagnosing the acetabular labral tears, and good agreements (Kappa = 0. 781 ,P < 0. 01 ) were found between these two methods. Conclusion Conventional MR imaging of hip joints at 3.0 T shows similar diagnostic value with MR arthrography in evaluating the acetabular labral tears.

Asthma is a chronic airway disease characterized by airway inflammation and airway remodeling. Chronic airway inflammation can be involved in airway remodeling in asthmatic patients by incuding epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT).Bromodomain-containing protein 4 (BRD4) is a key transcriptional regulator in mammals, and many evidences have shown that BRD4 plays a pivotal role in airway remodeling via nuclear factor-κB/RelA signaling pathway. This review summarizes the recent advances in the role of BRD4 in regulating EMT,with an attempt to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of asthma and inform the prevention and control of asthma.

The present study shows that mushroom juice exhibits a significanteffect on growth of L. acidophilus in reconstituted skim milk. When 5% - 10% mushroom juice was added in skim milk, they shorten generation time and the rate of lactic acid production was accelerated. After 10h incubation at 37℃ cell counts of L. acidophilus in test groups were much more than in control group, were up to 108/mL.

China Biotechnology 2006;0(10):-
Recombinant antibodies have become the major growth trends in biotech industry following their success on therapeutic application and good revenue. But the low level of mammalian expression and laggard fermentation process constrained the development of antibody industry in China. The global advances of antibody industry were reviewed, compared the respective advantage between dihydrofolate reductase and glutamine synthetase expression system, continuous perfusion and fed-batch processes were compared. Finally, based on the knowledge and experience of antibody expression and fermentation, the suitable strategy of antibody industrialization, e.g. the fermentation model and scale, should depend on the comprehensive consideration of entrepreneur for the productivity, manufacturing capacity and market revenue. It may be a wise choice to use glutamine synthetase expression system and continuous perfusion process for the need of Chinese antibody industrialization.

Microbiology 1992;0(03):-
To improve and optimize marine antimicrobial peptide R-1 production by a newly isolated Brevibacillus laterosporus Lh-1, Plackett-Burman (PB) design and response surface methodology (RSM) using central composite design was adopted in culture conditions. MINITAB 15.0 was used for planning the experiments, data analysis, contour diagrams and response optimizations. In this study, PB design was undertaken to evaluate the effects of the fifteen factors. By the statistical regression analysis, the significant factors affecting the novel antimicrobial peptide R-1 in submerged fermentation by Br. laterosporus Lh-1 were determined as follows: glucose, peptone and CaCl2. Then a RSM was used to optimize the above critical internal factors, and the optical concentration of the variables were deter-mined as: 15.72 g/L glucose, 6.01 g/L peptone and 3.29 g/L CaCl2. The content of R-1 was increased from 82.15 kU/mL to 116.27 kU/mL.

Chinese Journal of Perinatal Medicine 2013;16(11):677-681
Objective To investigate the alteration of Toll-like receptor (TLR) 2 and 9,myeloid cell differentiation 88 (MyD8),interleukin-2 (IL 2),interferon-γ(IFN γ) and interleukin-10 (IL-10) expression in spleen lymphocytes of cytomegalovirus (CMV) infected newborn murine. Methods Sixty-four neonatal mice were randomly divided into control group and CMV infected group (32 mice in each).Mice in CMV infected group were injected intraperitoneally with 20 μl CMV suspension (tissue culture infections dose 50 of 104.31 U/0.1 ml) at 4 6 hours after birth to create the systematic CMV infection models. At 3,5,7 and 10 days old, eight mice randomly selected from each group were sacrificed.Polymerase chain reaction was applied to detect CMV-DNA in liver, spleen, heart, lung, kidney and salivary glands of 7 day old mice.Western blot was used to measure the protein expression of T1R 2,9 and MyD88 in spleen lymphocyte, and enzyme linked immunosorbent assay was used to test the levels of IL-2,IFN-γand IL-10 in supernatant of spleen lymphocyte from 3,5,7 and 10-dayold mice.Independent samples t test and Pearson correlation analysis were applied as the statistical methods. Results On the 7th day after CMV infection, the protein expression of TLR 2,9 and MyD88 in spleen lymphocyte in CMV infected group increased to the maximum level (1.06±0.09,1.19±0.03 and 0.89±0.07),which were higher than those in control group (0.47±0.04,0.71 ±0.02 and 0.43±0.03),the differences were statistically significant(t=21.69,50.40 and 42.06,P<0.01,respectively).In CMV infected group, expression of IL-2 decreased to the lowest level on the 7th day after CMV infection [(16.9±7.3) pg/ml],IFN γ reached its peak level on the 5th day [(242.9±8.4) pg/ml] and IL-10 increased since the 5th day [(62.4±11.1) pg/ml],there were statistically significant differences as compared with control group [(51.9± 10.8) pg/ml,(135.3±10.5) pg/ml and (36.3±5.1) pg/ml](t=15.74,19.00 and 9.60,P<0.05,respectively).There was a negative correlation between TLR2,TLR9,MyD88 protein expression and IL-2 level (r =0.978,0.960 and-0.979,all P<0.01,respectively) and a positive correlation between TLR2,TLR9,MyD88 protein and IL-10 level (r =0.954,0.914 and 0.892,P < 0.01,respectively).Conclusions In the early phase of CMV infection (within 7 days),immunity is activated through TLR/MyD88 signal pathway resulting anti-infection effect. However, after the 7th day,Th1/Th2 cellular immunity imbalance allows virus to replicate easily.
