Objective To explore the relationship between dietary factors and female breast cancer. Methods A 1∶1 matched case-control study was conducted in 175 cases with histopathological diagnosis and 175 matched controls(Apr.2004 to Jul.2005), a questionnaire about general information and dietary intakes over 10 years was used in the present investigation. Results The univariate conditional analysis showed that high intake times of fruits, vegetables and soybean food were the protective factors and the relationship between intake frequencies of fruits, vegetables and soybean food intake and breast cancer showed a dose-response manner. The multivariate analysis showed that psychological hurt was the risk factors, high vegetables and soybean food intake and more delivery times were the protective factors. Conclusion High intake times of vegetables and soybean food are the protective factors for female breast cancer.

To study the value of the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma with B ultrasonographic located radiofrequency ablation(RFA).Methods: The radiofrequency multielectrodes were inserted into the hepatic carcinoma with B ultrasonographic locating.RFA was applied with the power from 50W up to 90W. RFA scope was 1cm out of the margin of the tumor mass in three dimension. After RFA treatment, the AFP level changes and the B ultrasonography, computed tomography (CT), biopsy of the liver and hepato arterioangiography were observed. Results: One month after RFA treatment ,in those with abnormal AFP level AFP falled to normal in 18/20 patients, the volume of the tumor mass were enlarged in 9 patients, not changed in 8 patients and decreased in the others at CT and/or ultrasonography. The alive cancer cells in the margin of the tumor mass were found in 1/6 patients at biopsy. The scattering bloodstream in the carcinoma was showed in 1/8 patients on hepato arteriography. After three months, the volume of the tumor was remarkably decreased in 25 patients. Conclusion: The results suggests that RFA appears to ablate hepatic carcinoma effectively as suitable method mastered.

Objective To evaluate the clinical significance of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) with clustered electrodes in the treatment of unresectable large primary liver cancer. Methods Under the guidance of ultrasonography, Percutaneous and intraoperative RFA was performed in 38 patients and 5 patients, respectively. Additional ablation could be conducted if residual tumor or recurrence was found after the primary treatment. Results A total of 62 times of RFA, with a mean of 6 foci every treatment, were completed in the 43 patients, in whom the mean diameter of tumor was 7 3 cm. AFP levels had decreased to normal in 18/32 patients (56 3%) whose preoperative AFP levels were above 400 ?g/L. Postoperative CT examinations indicated that the tumor was completely ablated in 33/43 patients (76 7%). Frequent complications included fever, local pain, and liver impairment. No severe complications or treatment-related deaths were seen. The 1-year survival rate was 79 3% (23/29). Conclusions RFA with clustered electrodes in the treatment of unresectable large liver cancer can produce extensive coagulation necrosis of tumor, being a safe and effective therapeutic method. It is breaking fresh ground in the management of unresectable large

Objective To improve the diagnosis and treatment of xanthogranulomatous pyelonephri- tis(XGP).Methods The clinical data of 18 cases(5 males and 13 females;mean age,47 years)with XGP were analyzed.Of them,6 had the lesion on the left, and 12 on the right. Before operation,XGP was mis- diagnosed as renal calculus with hydronephrosis in 4 cases, ureteral calculus with severe hydronephrosis in 3 cases, renal tuberculosis in 3 cases and renal carcinoma in 8 cases. Results Of the 18 cases,7 were diag- nosed to have XGP by frozen section during operation and 11 cases had a definite diagnosis by pathological examination after nephrectomy. After a follow-up of 6-124 months,no recurrence was observed in all these 18 cases. Conclusions Preoperative diagnosis of XGP is difficult. This disease is clinically characterized by foam cells in urine smear,low-density value of kidney CT and ineffective antibiotic therapy.Combined a- nalysis of clinical data and improvement of clinical recognition of XGP is the key to avoiding delayed diagno- sis or misdiagnosis of XGP.

Objective To study the expressions of Hepcidin, bone morphogenetic protein 6 (BMP6) and hemojuvelin (HJV) in gastric cancer, and to explore their relationships with clinical pathological characteristics. Methods Hepcidin,BMP6 and HJV were detected by immunohistochemistry in 62 cases of gastric cancer patients, and the relationships among them and clinical pathological features were analyzed. Results Compared with normal gastric mucosa tissues,Hepcidin was highly expressed in gastric cancer tissues (13.3% vs.56.5%,x2 =8.99,P < 0.01),while the differences of the expression of BMP6 and HJV in the two groups were not statistically significant (60.0% vs.40.3 %,x2 =1.89,P > 0.05;93.3% vs.83.9%,x2 =0.88,P > 0.05).The expression of Hepcidin was related to T stage (x2 =6.98,P =0.02),but it was not related to age, sex, lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis and anemia. The expressions of BMP6 and HJV were not related to T stage, age, sex, lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis and anemia.Hepcidin was not related to the expressions of BMP6 and HJV (r=0.13,P>0.05;r=0.15,P>0.05).Conclusion Hepcidin is highly expressed in gastric cancer tissues, which is related to the T staging of gastric cancer, and can be used as an objective indicator of the biological behavior of gastric cancer. There were no differences in the expression of BMP6 and HJV between normal gastric mucosa and gastric cancer tissues.

Objective To understand the support effect of the resources and services provided by the library on the scientific research of medical postgraduates. Methods Taking 150 graduate stu-dents in Chongqing Medical University as the research object, through questionnaire survey and inter-view method, the characteristics of medical graduate students' selection of document resources, as well as their application of the resources and services provided by the library were investigated. Results 65% (98/150) of students chose Chinese literature as the preferred source of information, 6% (9/150) of graduate students did not borrow books at the library, 54% (81/150) of graduate students chose library website as the data retrieval entrance at the time of obtaining the preferred document, 9% (14/150) of students did not participate in the library reader training. Conclusion Library resources are still the first choice for the graduate students to obtain the literature, and the library should be improved in the aspects of resource allocation, service mode, in order to meet the needs of graduate students' scientific research.

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 1994;0(04):-
Objective To explore the influence of Azithromycin on helper T lymphocyte cell(Th)1/Th2 in peripheral blood of children with bronchitic asthma. Methods Twenty-four asthmatic children and 20 healthy children were selected.Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) were isolated from venous blood and made into cells suspension in aseptic condition.0.2 mg/L,0.1 mg/L,0.05 mg/L and 0 mg/L Azithromycin were added into the cultures in asthmatic group. The control group was not interfered with Azithromycin. The supernatant was collected after 48 h.The levels of IFN-?,IL-4 and IL-10 in the supernatant were determined by enzyme-linked immunosobent assay(ELISA).SPSS 11.5 software was used to analyze data. Results 1.The level of IL-4 produced from PBMC of asthmatic group was significantly higher than that of control group(P0.05).2.Azithromycin 0.1 mg/L more promoted the secretion of IL-4 than the other 3 concentrations(Pa0.05).3.Azithromycin 0.2 mg/L and 0.1 mg/L more increased the level of IL-10 than the control group(P0.05).Conclusions The routine drug level of Azithromycin(0.1 mg/L) had no effects on the imbalance of Th1/Th2 of asthmatic children, but could modulate the immunological function by up-regulating the level of IL-10.
