Objective: To investigate the feasibility for reconstructing an aortic arch by a new integrated two-branched stent graft releasing in experimental canine thoracic aorta simulation system.
Methods: A new type of integrated two-branched stent graft was developed and placed in the canine thoracic aorta, the stent graft releasing in a simulated system was conducted under X-ray guidance to monitor the operating process and to explore the feasibility for invitro sent graft releasing.
Results: The new two-branched stent graft was successfully deployed in canine thoracic aorta simulation system. The releasing process was smooth, two small stent grafts were well landing, and all stent grafts were fully expanded and properly positioned.
Conclusion: Our new two-branched stent graft could successfully reconstruct the aortic arch in experimental canine. The thoracic aorta releasing system may better and truly simulate the whole process of endovascular aortic repairing, which provides a good foundation for further animal experiments.

Gene chip is a research tool on molecular biology which can detect generous gene expression rapidly.The studies on gene chip of leiomyoma have revealed the changes of gene expression related to cell growth,proliferation,apoptosis,metabolism,angiogenesis,formation of extracellular matrix,cell differentiation and immunity.The article reviews the advance on gene chip of leiomyoma and approaches the pathogenesis of leiomyoma on molecular level.

Objective To evaluate the value of PET/CT in preoperative assessment and postoperative monitoring of ovarian cancer. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted in 45 patients of ovarian neoplasm with clinical records underwent 18F-FDG PET/CT, including 10 patients underwent PET/CT before surgery and 35 patients after surgery. The clinical follow-up time was 6 months at least. The diagnosis based on pathology and clinical follow-up data. Results (1) The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of PET/CT in detecting ovarian cancer were 94.6%,75.0%and 91.1%, respectively. (2) Ten patients before surgery were all detected tumor by PET/CT, but 2 of them were false positive based on pathologic results. (3) Two patients with non-standard surgery were detected tumor by PET/CT. In 33 patients after standard surgery, 6 patients were no tumor detected by PET/CT. In addition,4 patients with normal CA125 and no signs of recurrence and metastasis were detected tumor by PET/CT. The pathology and clinical follow-up data supported the results. 23 patients with higher CA125 were diagnosed recurrence and metastasis based on pathology and clinical follow-up data, 21 of them were detected tumor by PET/CT. Conclusion 18F-FDG PET/CT plays an important role in preoperative assessment, early diagnosis and accurate positioning of recurrent and metastasis of ovarian cancer. It can be used to guide the clinical treatment.

Objective To investigate clinical diagnosis value in complex heart disease of 320-slice computerized tomography.Methods Twenty-seven patients' imaging data of 320-slice computerized tomography and transthoracic heart echocardiography were taken retrospective analysis,all patients were diagnosed with complex heart disease on cardiothoracic surgery.And the authors compared the diagnostic accuracy of imaging diagnosis and operation diagnosis.Results The diagnostic of 27 patients with 89 cardiac anomalies with 320-slice computerized tomography and were diagnosed 83 cardiac anomalies with transthoracic heart echocardiography.However,92 cardiac anomalies were found on cardiothoracic surgery.The diagnostic accuracy of 27 patients had a statistical difference between 320-slice computerized tomography and transthoracic heart echocardiography with complex heart deformity disease (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions Compared with transthoracic heart echocardiography,320-slice computerized tomography improved the diagnosis accuracy of the complex heart deformity disease.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the main factors that influence the results of sperm alkaline single-cell gel electrophoresis (SCGE), optimize the conditions, and standardize its procedures.

METHODSUsing alkaline SCGE, we detected the DNA fragments of sperm treated with different concentrations of H2O2 and determined the influences of the number of agarose gel layers, pH during DNA unwinding and electrophoresis, the time of DNA unwinding and electrophoresis, and cumulative sperm number on the results of sperm alkaline SCGE. Then we optimized the procedures, analyzed the repeatability of the optimized method, and examined 40 semen samples using the method.

RESULTSThree agarose gel layers could reduce the background. The optimal pH during DNA unwinding and electrophoresis was 10, and the best times for DNA unwinding and electrophoresis were 40 min and 30 min, respectively. Fifty sperm were adequate to ensure the reliability of the results. Based on the percentage of tail DNA, the intra- and inter-assay repeatabilities of the optimized sperm alkaline SCGE were 3.12% and 7.13%, and by the DNA damage score, they were 2.38% and 6.09%, respectively. Sperm DNA fragments were significantly increased in the infertile patients with oligoasthenoteratozoospermia as compared with healthy fertile males (P <0.05).

CONCLUSIONThe optimized sperm alkaline SCGE, highly repeatable and easy to be standardized, can be applied to the clinical detection of sperm DNA fragmentation in infertile men.

In this study, OVA-induced asthma mice was taken as the model, and orally administered with different concentration of ethanol extracts of crude and processed Stemona tuberosa, in order to determine the cytokine level released from Th1 and Th2 in splenocytes. RT-PCR was carried out to determine the genetic expression of T-bet/GATA-3 in lung, and compare the differentiation between ethanol extracts of crude and processed S. tuberosa in therapeutic effect on asthma in mice. According to the results, compared with the crude samples, processed samples significantly increased the levels of inflammatory factor INF-gamma (P < 0.05) and decreased IL-5 (P < 0.05) in splenocytes. According to the RT-PCR results, the administration of processed samples could increase the ratio of T-bet/GATA-3 (P < 0.05). The experiment showed that ethanol extracts of both crude and processed S. tuberosa could treat asthma by regulating Th1/Th2 ratio, but processed samples showed more notable effect. This indicated that crude and processed S. tuberosa had significant pharmacological difference. Therefore, it was more rational to apply processed S. tuberosa in clinical treatment of asthma and chronic cough, which layed a foundation for further revealing the processing mechanism of S. tuberosa.

OBJECTIVETo study possible mechanisms of Shangjuxu (ST37) and the large intestine.

METHODSTotally 40 SD rats were selected. The distension of end colon was used as injured afferent stimulus. Activities of locus coeruleus (LC) neurons were recorded by extracellular microelectrode technique. Shangjuxu (ST37) and Hegu (L14) were needled to observe general features of discharge reactions, distention of colon induced discharge reactions of LC, and its effects on distention of colon induced discharge reactions of LC.

RESULTSDistention of colon could induce incrased discharge of LC neurons by 127.33% ± 45.48%. But needling at Shangjuxu (ST37) and Hegu (L14) could inhibit this injured response by 38.24% ± 7.69% and 21.29% ± 13.16% respectively (all P < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONSNeedling at Shangjuxu (ST37) and afferent signals of colon distension converged and interacted with each other. Needling at Shangjuxu (ST37) could significantly inhibit colon distension induced discharge of LC neurons, which might be one of mechanisms for Shangjuxu (ST37) and the large intestine relationship.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the correlation between galectin-1 expression and the biological behaviors of human colorectal carcinoma.

METHODSSP immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of galectin-1 in 158 paraffin-embedded specimens including 30 normal mucosa, 25 adenoma, 65 colorectal carcinoma and 38 metastatic tumor specimens. Real-time RT-PCR was used to detect galectin-1 mRNA expression in 32 fresh specimens of colorectal carcinoma and normal mucosa.

RESULTSThe positive expression level of galectin-1 was significantly different between normal mucosa, adenoma, colorectal carcinomas and metastatic tumors, with positivity rate of 0, 8%, 66% and 86%, respectively (P<0.05). Galectin-1 expression in moderately or well differentiated colorectal carcinomas was significantly lower than that in poorly differentiated ones (P=0.031), and its expression in invasive carcinomas was significantly higher than that in non-invasive carcinomas (P=0.000). Galectin-1 expression in colorectal carcinomas was significantly related with lymph node metastasis (P=0.004). In poorly differentiated colorectal carcinomas, the expression of galectin-1 mRNA was about 2.27 times that in moderately or well differentiated colorectal carcinomas (P=0.00); galectin-1 mRNA expression in invasive carcinoma was 1.98 times that in non-invasive carcinoma (P=0.002). In tumors with lymph node metastasis, galectin-1 mRNA expression was 1.42 times that in tumors without metastasis (P=0.018).

CONCLUSIONGalectin-1 can be involved in the development and progression of colorectal carcinoma, and may relate to the infiltration, differentiation and lymph node metastasis of colorectal carcinoma.

Objective We aimed to construct the handbook of self-management for patients with permanent colostomy by using the Delphi method.Methods Based on htemture review,23 experts were consulted twice by using the Delphi method about the related problems of constructing the handbook of self-management for patients with permanent colostomy,and the consulting results were analyzed later.Results The valid response rates of two rounds of expert consultation were 91.3％ and 100.0％,respectively.The authority coefficient of the experts (Cr) was 0.879,and coordination coefficients of the experts' opinion (W) were 0.387 and 0.307,respectively.Finally,the handbook of self-management for patients with permanent colostomy was determined by two rounds of expert consultation.Conclusions The handbook of self-management for patients with permanent colostomy,consmucted by using the Delphi method,provides a practical and effective tool for the patients with permanent colostomy to manage themselves,so as to provide a guidance and supervision role on self-management,such as stoma management,role management and emotion management,fither more,it provides references for the clinical and community nursing of the patients with permanent colostomy.

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of tuina in rehabilitation following total hip replacement. Methods: 60 cases were randomly allocated into a treatment group and control group, 30 cases in each group. Cases in the treatment were treated with combined mina and rehabilitation, while cases in the control group were treated with rehabilitation alone. All treatment retained for two weeks. The results were observed 7 d, 2 weeks and 6 weeks following the total hip replacement using Harris scale and Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAMA).Results: For Harris scale, there were significant intra-group differences in different time frames (P＜0.05); there were no statistical differences between the two groups 1 d, 7 d and 6 weeks following the total hip replacement (P＞0.05); and there were statistical differences between the two groups 2 weeks following the total hip replacement. For HAMA scale, there were significant intra-group differences in different time frames (P＜0.05); there were no significant differences between the two groups 1 d following the total hip replacement; and there were substantial differences between the two groups 7 d, 2 weeks and 6 weeks following the total hip replacement. Conclusion: In a given unit time, combined mina and rehabilitation is superior to rehabilitation alone in improving the patients' post-operative pain, articular range of motion and anxiety.
