Objective To understand the quality of life of elders in the community of Shangqiu and analyze the affecting factors to provide a scientific evidence which could improve their quality of life.Methods The general questionnaire and World Health Organization Quality of Life Brief Evaluation From were used among 116 elders in two communities of Shangqiu.Results The quality of life of elders was in low level.The mainly factors that influencing the quality of life of elders in the community of Zhengzhou were age,education status,economic income,hobbies and interest,family relation,physical exercise.Conclusions The factors that influence the elders in community are various.To improve quality of life of elders,community workers should take relevant measures and encourage family members to participate in caring elders.

Objective To observe and explore the effect of aripiprazole(Ari)and olanzapine(Ola)on body weight and lipid metabolism in schizophrenia(SP)patients.Methods 96 patients with SP were randomly divided into two groups,48 cases in the observation group and the control group.The control group was treated with Ola,while the observation group was treated with Ari.Before and 6 weeks after treatment,the height,body weight,blood glucose (FBG),insulin(INS),low -density lipoprotein(LDL),triglycerides(TG),total cholesterol(TC)levels in the two groups were detected,insulin resistance index(IRI)and BMI were calculated.Results The differences of body weight,BMI,FBG,INS,IRI,LDL,TG,TC before treatment between the two groups were not statistically significant (t =0.161,0.564,0.277,0.078,0.092,0.124,0.421,0.245,all P >0.05).After 6 weeks treatment,FBG,INS, IRI in the observation group were (4.71 ±0.58)mmol/L,(21.85 ±12.36)μU /mL and (4.62 ±2.14),the differ-ences were not statistically significant compared with before treatment(t =0.800,0.571,0.276,all P >0.05).Those in the control group were (5.14 ±0.56)mmol/L,(28.54 ±11.25)μU /mL and (6.23 ±3.82),which were signifi-cantly higher than those before treatment(t =4.898,3.361,2.628,all P <0.05),and were also significantly higher than those in the observation group(t =3.695,2.773,2.547,all P <0.05 ).After 6 weeks treatment,the body weight,BMI,LDL,TG,TC in the observation group were not statistically significant compared with before treatment (t =0.262,0.638,0.124,0.421,0.245,all P >0.05 ),those in the control group were significantly higher than before treatment(t =2.601,3.834,5.773,5.838,4.375,all P <0.05),and were also significantly higher than those in the observation group(t =3.052,3.265,5.264,5.496,4.188,all P <0.05).Conclusion Ari treatment for SP has no significant effect on glucose and lipid metabolism and body weight in patients,and the effect of Ola treatment on patients'body weight and lipid metabolism is more significant.

Objective To observe the influence of mental rehabilitation combined with family intervention on self -efficacy and quality of life of patients with schizophrenia.Methods 92 cases of schizophrenia patients were choosed to be the research object.They were divided into control group (46 cases)and observation group (46 cases) according to random number table method.The control group was given mental rehabilitation while the observation group was given the mental rehabilitation combined with family intervention treatment.The clinical efficacy of the two groups of patients was observed after six months.The patient's self -efficacy was assessed by using self -efficacy scale (GSES),and the patient's quality of life was assessed by using the quality of life scale (QLQ).Results Six months after treatment,the score of PANSS in patients with positive symptoms[(14.19 ±4.16)points],negative symptoms [(16.29 ±4.92)points],mental symptoms[(35.56 ±6.75)points]and total score[(65.84 ±15.83)points]in the observation group were lower,which were better than those of the control group[(17.37 ±5.27)points,(21.11 ± 5.64)points,(42.37 ±7.92)points and (80.85 ±18.83)points],and the differences were statistically significant(t =3.212,4.368,4.438,4.544,all P <0.05).The total effective rate was 86.96% in the observation group,which was significantly higher than 67.39% in the control group,the difference was statistically significant(χ2 =4.998,P =0.025).The self -efficacy scores of the two groups were higher than before the treatment,which of the observation group[(3.51 ±0.62)points]was better than that of control group[(2.13 ±0.48)points],the difference had statistical significance(t =5.593,P =0.000).After treatment,the patient's quality of life score such as emotional function [(59.82 ±11.38)points],cognitive function[(69.43 ±12.32)points],role function[(69.77 ±12.31 )points], physical function[(75.38 ±14.01 )points],social function[(66.28 ±13.03)points]and so on were higher than before treatment[(56.88 ±10.36)points,(42.01 ±9.29)points,(47.02 ±9.17)points,(60.34 ±10.89)points, (53.92 ±10.76)points].Results of the observation group were better than those of the control group[(53.07 ± 10.13)points,(63.02 ±11.17)points,(62.03 ±11.17)points,(67.33 ±11.74)points,(60.87 ±12.62)points], the differences had statistical significance(t =3.005,2.664,3.158,2.987,2.023,all P <0.05).Conclusion Therapy of mental rehabilitation combined with family intervention can improve the clinical curative effect of schizophrenia patients, and improve the patient's self -efficacy and quality of life.It is worthy of clinical popularization and application.

We retrospectively analyzed the etiology of 26 new-onset pituitary neoplasms, which were diagnosed at outpatient department of internal medicine over the last 2 years. Our results showed that most patients visited doctors for hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and menstrual cycle disorder. In addition,gynecomastia, visual field defect, and headache could also be the primary condition. This study indicates that it should be critical to raise awareness of diverse clinical manifestation of pituitary neoplasm.

Objective To characterize the association of adiponectin,leptin and free fatty acids(FFA)with adiposity,insulin resistance,lipid profiles and inflammatory markers in type 2 diabetes.Methods We measured fasting serum adiponectin,leptin,FFA,high-sensitive C reactive protein(hs-CRP) levels and metabolic parameters in 77 cases of type 2 diabetic patients with or without obesity and 26 healthy subjects.Results Following parameters were significantly higher in type 2 diabetic patients than in healthy subjects: fasting serum leptin(?g/L)(4.5?3.9 vs 4.1?2.1),hsCRP(mg/L)(0.69?1.07 vs 0.33?0.47),FFA(?mol/L)(566?227 vs 391?129) and triglyceride(mmol/L)(1.61?1.02 vs 1.01?0.40);however,following parameters were significantly lower in type 2 diabetic patients than in healthy subjects: serum adiponectin(mg/L)(5.5?3.4 vs 9.1?4.1),highdensity lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)(mmol/L)(1.22?0.27 vs 1.48?0.26), apolipoprotein AI(mmol/L)(1.35?0.19 vs 1.49?0.18) and apolipoprotein AII(mmol/L)(0.29?0.07 vs 0.34?0.06) concentrations(P

Objective To investigate the antitumour effects of transfected gut-enriched Krüppellike factor(GKLF) on human gastric carcinoma cell line SGC-7901 in vitro and in vivo. Methods The expression of GKLF mRNA and protein in human gastric carcinoma cell line SGC-7901 were detected before and after transfection by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR and Western blot,respectively. Proliferation and invasion in SGC-7901 were measured respectively by MTT assay, flow cytometry, colony formation assay and cell invasion assay after transfected with GKLF. The growth of xenograft was observed, the microvessel density(MVD) of xenograft tissue was determined by immunohistochemistry. Results The GKLF mRNA and protein in SGC-7901 were overexpressed after transfected with GKLF(P＜0.05). The proliferative speed of SGC7901-pcDNA3.1-GKLF group was markedly lower than that of SGC-7901 and SGC7901-pcDNA3.1 groups (P＜0.05). Transfected with GKLF caused part of the G0/G1 arrest, decreased clone formation rate and the invasion ability (P＜0.05). The growth speed of xenograft in SGC7901-pcDNA3.1-GKLF group was lower, the weight and MVD of xenograft tissue in SGC7901-pcDNA3. 1-GKLF group were less (P＜ 0. 05).Conclusion Transfected with GKLF maysuppress proliferation and invasion in human gastric carcinoma cell line SGC-7901, inhibit the growth and the angiogenesis of xenograft in nude mice.

Objective To observe the effect of S-adenosyl-L-methionine(SAMe) in treatment of jaundice in newborns and its mechanism.Methods Two hundred and two newborn infants with jaundice were treated with SAMe,76 cases in control group treated with phototherapy and liver enzyme induction elixir;SAMe 30-60 mg/(kg?d) were added to 202 cases intravenously in treatment group.The total biliorubin(T-BILI),direct bilinrubin(D-BILI) and indirect bilinrubin(I-BILI) were dynamically detected.Results Six days after treatment,the skin jaundice index in treatment group decreased remarkably.T-BILI,D-BILI and I-BILI decreased significantly.The curing effectiveness was higher in treatment group than that in control group.The number of applicating blood products and albumin,and blood produets/albumin were decreased in treatment group than those in control group.In those who used glucose to dissolve the SAMe 2.68% had blood-vessel phlebitis.Conclusions SAMe can efficiently quicken the retrogression of jaundice in newborns.It can reduce the use of blood products.It is a reliable and safe drug to treat jaundice in newborns.

Objective To investigate factors associated with prevalence, awareness, treatment and control of hypertension in Dagang Oil Field, and to provide the scientific evidence for the intervention measurements. Methods A cross-sectional, population-based survey was conducted in Dagang Oil Field from 2008 to 2010. Totally, 16 553 adults, 8 174 men (49.38%) and 8 379 women (50.62%), completed all of the questionnaires, measurement examination and blood specimen collection. Results The prevalence of hypertension was 27.30%. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that male, old age, overweight or obesity, family history of hypertension, marriage, education attainment, snoring, high heart rate, fasting blood glucose, serum total protein, and hyperuricemia were associated with hypertension. The awareness, treatment, control rates among all hypertensive subjects, and control rate among treated hypertensive participants were 52.65%, 40.07%, 15.51%, and 38.78%, respectively. Awareness was more common in those who were 45-64 years old , high medical costs, family history of hypertension, and smoking currently. Odds ratio (OR) (95% CI) of awareness was 5.24 (2.78 to 9.88), 24.11 (11.91 to 48.84) and 27.46(13.92 to 54.18) for medical costs 1-59.9 yuan/month, 60-199.9 yuan/month, and≥200 yuan/month, respectively. In contrast, exercising 2-4 times/week and longer sleep duration were associated with lower awareness. Medication treatment was more common in those who had old age, high medical costs, hypertension family history, coronary heart disease, prefer vegetable, while less common in those who exercise occasionally, sleep longer and drink alcohol currently. OR (95%CI) of treatment was 10.89 (3.76 to 31.56), 54.07 (19.20-152.24), and 87.31 (31.54 to 241.75) for medical costs 1-59.9 yuan/month, 60-199.9 yuan/month, and ≥200 yuan/month, respectively. Controlled hypertension was more common in those who had old age, high medical costs, exercise 2-4 times/week, coronary heart disease, prefer crude fibre diet, but less common in those who drink alcohol currently, have higher heart rate, and higher education attainment. OR (95%CI) of controlled hypertension was 13.59 (6.50-28.44), 14.67 (7.01-30.68), and 17.43 (8.34-36.39) for medical costs 1-59.9 yuan/m, 60-199.9 yuan/m, and≥200 yuan/m, respectively. Conclusion Despite high rate of awareness, treatment and control of hypertension still need to be strengthened.

Objective To observe the long term effects of arthroscopic knee debridement and reconstructing operation for treating osteoarthritis in patients with Kaschin-Beck disease. Methods Thirty-one cases of patients with Kaschin-Beck disease were followed for 6 years after operation of articular clearing by arthroscope. Index of pain, symptoms of self-evaluation, range of motion, walking distance, standing test by affected leg when bending at 30° or 60° were recorded and compared with the preoperative results. Results Twenty-four cases were followed up for 6 years. Six years after operation the pain index(3.38 ± 2.87) was dramatically decreased compared to that before operation (6.88 ± 1.45, t = 5.30, P ＜ 0.05). Patients symptoms markedly improved by subjective self-evaluation was 70.83% (17/24), the effective rate was 100% (24/24). The number of cases that could stand up when leg bending at 30° or 60° were 21,18 cases, respectively, compared with that of preoperative of 14, 11 cases, respectively, the difference was statistically significant(x2 = 5.17,4.27, all P ＜ 0.05). Six years after operation the walking distance(3 cases ＜ 1 km, 11 cases 1 - 5 km and 10 cases ＞ 5 km) were greatly improved compared to the results before operation (12 cases ＜ 1 km, 9 cases 1 - 5 km and 3 cases ＞ 5 km, U = 2.88, P ＜0.05). Six years after operation the knee activity[(132.25 ± 14.52)°] remained at the same level, compared with that of preoperative [(131 .58 ± 14.68) °], the difference was not statistically significant (t = 0.16, P ＞ 0.05) .Conclusions The method of arthroscopic joint debridement to cure Kaschin-Beck disease knee osteoarthritis can significantly reduce pain, improve function and walking distance, with more stable long-term satisfactory outcome.
