OBJECTIVETo investigate the prevalence and subtype distribution of human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and its correlation with age among women in Beijing urban area, and provide some epidemiological evidence for the clinical application of HPV vaccines.

METHODSWe collected cervical specimens from 1999 women in the Outpatient Department of our hospital, performed genetyping of HPV-DNA, and analyzed the incidence of HPV infection in different age groups.

RESULTSHPV infection was detected in 502 (25.2%) of the 1999 women patients, with 391 (19.6%) cases of high-risk HPV, which included 326 (83.4%, 326/391) cases of single infection. HPV-16 was the most common type (21.2%, 69/326), followed by HPV-52 (19.3%, 63/326) and HPV-58 (16.0%, 52/326). The prevalence of HPV infection was the highest among the women aged 41 -50 years and the lowest among those over 60 years.

CONCLUSIONThe subtype- and age-specific distribution of HPV infection among women in Beijing urban area shows an obvious heterogeneity, which deserves due consideration in the clinical application of HPV vaccines.

Objective:To compare the clinical characteristics in primary hyper(-) parathyroid hormone (PHPT) of the different patholog-ic types. Methods:Clinical data of 140 patients with PHPT proved by operation and pathology during January 2010 to June 2016 were retrospectively analyzed. Results:A total of 140 PHPT patients, including 13 (9.29%) cases of parathyroid carcinoma (PC), 27 (19.29%) cases of parathyroid hyperplasia (PH), and 100 (71.43%) cases of parathyroid adenoma (PA). The duration of the PC group was longer than the PH group and the duration of the parathyroid adenoma (PH) group was longer than the PA group (P<0.05). The percentage of young patients with PC was higher than in the other two groups (P=0.003). The diameters of the PC group were larger than those of the other two groups, and those of the PA group were larger than those of the PH groups (P<0.05). Blood calcium, parathyroid hor-mone (PTH), AKP, fasting blood glucose (FBG), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), glutamete transpepti-dase (GGT), blood urine nitrogen (BUN), creatine (CRE), urinary calcium, and phosphorus of the PC group were higher than in the oth-er two groups (P<0.05). The blood calcium, PTH, alkaline phosphatase (AKP), urinary calcium of the PH group were lower than those in PA group (P<0.05). The proportion of ostalgia was 46.15%(6/13), 44.44%(12/27), and 49.00%(49/100). No statistical difference was observed (P>0.05). The postoperative calcium level of PC group was lowest (P<0.001), and the highest was of PTH (P<0.001). The pro-portions of clinical manifestation of the urinary system, digestive system, and nervous system in the PC group were 76.92%(10/13), 76.92%(10/13), and 15.38%(2/13), respectively, and these values were the highest in the three groups (P<0.05). The proportion of the clinical manifestation of the urinary system of the PH group was higher than that of the PA group. The fracture rate (30.77%, 4/13) and constipation rate (38.46%, 5/13) of the PC group were the highest among the three groups (P<0.05). Conclusion:The duration of patients with PC was the longest among the three groups. The percentage of young patients with PC was the highest. The abnormal parathyroid glands in the PC group were the heaviest. The PC group exhibited the lowest postoperative calcium level and the highest PTH level. The biochemistry and clinical manifestations of PC were obvious.

Objective To find the relationship between mutation of gamma 2 subunit of the gamma-aminobatyric acid type A receptor(GABRG2) and generalized epilepsy with febrile seizure plus(GEFS+).Methods Probands of 10 families with GEFS+ were selected,the GABRG2 gene were sequenced.Results We found a single nucleotide polymorphism site,and did not find the reported mutations.Conclusion GABRG2 mutation is not common in Hans of northern China.

Objective: To explore the effects of Polygonatum odoratum on body based on metabonomics. Methods: The ultra performance liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS) and principle component analysis(PCA) and orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis(OPLS-DA) were used to evaluate the changes of endogenous substances in rats after intragastric administration of Polygonatum odoratum. Results: Significant differences between the control group and administration group were observed in PCA and OPLS-DA model. Five potential biomarkers between control group and administration group were identified. The relative content of Alpha-Tocotrienol, PC(14:1(9Z)/14:1(9Z)), Stearic acid, Theasapogenol A, Docosahexaenoic acid increased. Conclusion: The biomarkers had many beneficial activities, so the Mongolian medicine Polygonatum odoratum had the function of health care. This study is to investigate the effect of artesunate on transforming growth factor-beta1 (TGF-beta1) induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and its possible mechanism. After the in vitro cultured RLE-6TN cells were treated with TGF-beta1 then artesunate intervened on it, after 24 h, expression of the markers of mesenchymal cell was assayed using Western blotting and real-time PCR analysis. Western blotting was also used to detect the effect of TGF-beta1 on the Smad3 and Smad7 expressions of RLE-6TN cells. Morphological alterations were examined by phase-contrast microscope, and ultrastructure changes by electron microscope. Incubation of RLE-6TN cells with TGF-beta1 resulted in the up-regulation of the expression of the mesenchymal cell markers, after artesunate intervened on it, resulted in the down-regulation of the expression. Meanwhile, incubation with artesunate intervened on RLE-6TN cells could lead to the apparent down-regulation of the expression of Smad3 and up-regulation of Samd7 and the transition of RLE-6TN cells to mesenchymal-like by TGF-beta1 induction, after artesunate intervened on it, RLE-6TN cells to epithelial-like. TGF-beta1 induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition process; artesunate can inhibit TGF-beta1-induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition process, the possible mechanism is up-regulation of the expression of Smad7 and down-regulation of the expression of Smad3, meanwhile inhibits phosphorylation of Smad3.

BACKGROUND:The bispectral (BIS) index is a processed electroencephalogram (EEG) parameter with extensive validation and demonstrated clinical utility. The study aimed to investigate the correlation between the BIS index and the prognosis of patients with coma in the ICU. METHODS:A total of 208 patients with coma in the ICU were enrolled in this study. According to the BIS value, the patients were divided into four groups:group I, BIS value 0 to 20; group Ⅱ, BIS value 21 to 40; group Ⅲ, BIS value 41 to 60; and group IV, BIS value greater than 60. The difference in BIS values with the differences in prognosis of patients with coma was compared between the four groups, and the prognosis of patients with coma was stratified into consciousness, coma, vegetative state, and brain death. Subsequently, the best cut-off score of BIS values calculated for determining the correlation between BIS value and mental state was proposed. RESULTS:There are no significant differences in the age and APACHE Ⅱ scores between the four groups (P>0.05). An inverse correlation was observed between BIS value and mental state (r=–0.749, P=0.00). According to the ROC curve, as BIS value was greater than 42.5, there were higher sensitivity and specificity in conscious-coma patients. CONCLUSION:BIS value is correlated with the prognosis of patients with coma in ICU, and BIS value can be a useful marker for estimating the prognosis of comatose patients.

The nitrite-reducing activity of aerobic denitrifying bacterial strain N6-1 was studied. It showed that the nitrite-reducing activity reached the highest at 30℃, 120 r/min, pH 8.5 and C/N ratio 12, using CH3COONa and NaNO2 as the sole carbon source and nitrogen source, respectively. When the initial NaNO2 concentration was 2 g/L, NO2--N was reduced completely after 20 hours cultivation with the reducing rate of 20.3 mg/L?h. There would be no effect on its nitrite-reducing activity in the present of 1.5% NaCl or 1% peptone. The cell concentration could reach 1.2?1011 CFU/mL after 24 hours cultivation in 10 L fermentor.
