2.Total laparoscopic splenectomy and pericardial devascularization for the treatment of portal hypertension

Objective To evaluate total laparoscopic splenectomy combined with pericardial devascularization. Methods In this study,40 patients with portal hypertension and hypersplenism underwent total laparoscopic splenectomy combined with pericardial devascularization,in which 26 cases had a history of up-GI bleeding. Results Procedures were successful in 36 patients.There was four conversions to open surgery.The operations were completed in a mean time of (224 ± 54) min,with a mean estimated blood loss of (296 ± 209) ml and with no serious complication. Conclusion Total laparoscopic splenectomy combined with pericardial devascularization is a safe and effective available minimally invasive procedure in patients with portal hypertension and hypersplenism.
3.Retroperitoneal laparoscopic debridement: experience on 12 patients with retroperitoneal infection

Objective To review our clinical experience on 12 patients with retroperitoneal infection who were treated with retroperitoneal laparoscopic debridement.Method This retrospective study included 12 patients with retroperitoneal infection who were treated with retroperitoneal laparoscopic dehridement and drainage.Results All the 12 patients recovered well and were finally discharged home.Conclusions Retroperitoneal laparoscopic debridement and drainage for retroperitoneal infection is a mini-invasive procedure.It was found to be safe,produced minimal bleeding and resulted in rapid postoperative recovery.It can be used as the first choice treatment in properly selected patients.
4.Adhesion and Proliferation of Bone Mesenchymal Stem Cells with PLGA-[ASP-PEG] Polymer Scaffolds

Objectives: To investigate the effects of adhesion and proliferation of bone mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) in the surface of lactic acid/glycolic acid/asparagic acid-co-polyethylene glycol PLGA-[ASP-PEG] tri-block polymer scaffolds, try to find a new biomaterial to induce seed cells in vitro for bone tissue engineering. Methods: Modified PLGA with polyethylene glycol (PEG) and asparagic acid (ASP) that has many ligands, and synthesis PLGA-[ASP-PEG] polymer material. BMSCs were cultured in PLGA-[ASP-PEG] polymer material and PLGA used as control group. Through precipitation method, MTT assay and total cellular protein detection to test the adhersion and proliferation of BMSCs. Scanning electron microscope is used to observe cells appearance. Results: BMSCs on the surface of PLGA-[ASP-PEG] polymer scaffolds are adherention to the culture flask, the number of cells is much higher than PLGA’s. AIM:To investigate the role of danshensu on Smad signal transduction in rat hepatic stellate cells(HSCs)stimulated with transforming growth factor(TGF-?1).METHODS:The rat HSCs was isolated with collagenase by in situ-liver recirculation perfusion and cultured in vitro.MTT colorimetric assay was used to detect proliferation of HSCs treated with different concentration of danshensu.The expressions of ?-SMA and T?R I and II were observed by immunocytochemitry,indirect immunofluorescent staining and Western blotting when HSCs stimulated with TGF-?1 and with different concentrations of danshensu for 24 h.RESULTS:(1)Danshensu at the concentration from 0.0625 mmol/L to 1 mmol/L prevented the proliferation of HSCs in a dose-dependent manner(P
7.Infection and treatment of surgical site infection after inguinal hernia repair for obesity patients

Objective To evaluate the effect of obesity on the incidence of surgical site infection (SSI) in patients with inguinal hernia after tensionless repair and its treatment.Methods Clinical data of 628 cases with inguinal hernia undergoing tensionless repair from Sep.2008 to May.2016 were retrospectively analyzed.The 628 patients were divided into obesity group (n=150) and non-obesity group (n=478),or SSI group (n=9) and non-SSI group(n=619).The effect of obesity on SSI after inguinal hernia and its treatment was analyzed.Re sults Among the 628 patients,SSC happened to 9 patients and the incidence was 1.43%.The rate of SSI in obesity group and non-obesity group was 4.00% (6/150) and 0.63% (3/478),respectively (x=6.960,P=0.002).BMI was 30.92±3.03 and 26.24±3.79 respectively in SSI group and non-SSI group (t=3.686,P=0.000).The difference has statistical significance.Factors such as diabetes,age,sex,albumin levels,American society of anesthesiology (ASA),type of hernia,method and duration of operation had no significant difference between SSI group and non-SSI group (P>0.05).Conclusion By analyzing the risk factors of SSI after tensionless hernia repair,we find that patients with obesity are more likely to have SSI.Strengthening prevention and early treatment is a key measure to prevent postoperative infection in these patients.
8.Cloning and Sequencing of Movement Protein Gene of Cymbidium Mosaic Virus

The viral RNA was extracted from purified cymbidium mosa ic virus (CyMV) isolated from Dendrobium orchid cultivated in Hainan island. The gene of the movement protein (MP) was amplified by means of reverse transcripti on-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), and cloned into pGEM-T easy vector. Se quence analysis showed that the gene fragment contained 3 open reading frames (O RFs) which may be encoding 14 kD、12 kD and 10 kD peptides. The nucleotide seque nce of the cloned gene fragment shared 97.8% homology with the MP genes of CyMV isolated from orchids cultivated in Hawaii and Singapore.
9.Feasibility of body surface electrodes instead of multipair esophageal electrodes for assessment of neural re-spiratory drive in COPD patients

Objective To analyze the feasibility of body surface electrodes instead of multipair esophageal electrodes for the evaluation of neural respiratory drive in patients with COPD. Methods Diaphragm electromyo-gram(EMG)from body surface electrodes and multipair esophageal electrodes,was recorded in 29 patients with stable COPD recruited from outpatient clinic. Changes of neural respiratory drive of two kinds of electrodes during resting and maximal isocapnic ventilation (MIV) were observed before and after inhalation of bronchodilators. Results Ventilation significantly improved ,RMS-sur and RMS-eso significantly decreased after the inhalation of bronchodilators during resting and MIV. RMS-sur and RMS-eso were significantly correlated(r=0.660,P<0.01). Conclusion EMG from the surface electrodes may be a useful and noninvasive technique to evaluate neural respi-ratory drive in patients with COPD.
10.Expression of interleukin-13 receptor and its relationship to proliferation activity of human gliomas

Objective To explore the gene expression of interleukin-13 receptor (IL-13R)?2 and its relationship to proliferation activity of human gliomas.Methods The gene expression of IL-13R?in 50 hu- man gliomas,2 malignant human glioma cell lines and 6 normal brain tissues were studied by RT-PCR.Ki-67 labeling index (Ki267 LI) of all sample were detecteded by immunohistochemical staining.Results Only one normal brain tissues expressed very low IL-13R?2 mRNA,whereas 35 (70%) of 50 human brain tumors expressed 1L-13R?2 mRNA.The positive rate and expression level of IL-13R?2 mRNA were increased with the ascending of WHO tumor grade.(former:rs=0.87;letter:rs=0.69,P<0.01).The difference of posi- tive rate and expression level of IL-13R 2?mRNA between the low grade and high grade tumors was statistical- ly significant,the proliferation activity of gliomas evaluated by Ki-67LI (Ki-67 Labeling Index,Ki-67LI) was positively correlated with IL-13R?2 gene expression and the tumor grade.Conclusion In human cerebral gliomas,IL-13R?2 genes may play an role in the malignant progression.The expression level of malignancy in molecular level and selecting the target of gene therapy.
