Objective To study role of MDC/CCI22-CCR4 axis in mouse milky spots with peritoneal carcinomatosis of gastric cancer. Methods We examined the expression of CCR4 in 615 Mouse gastric cancer cell (MFC) lines by RT-PCR and Western-blot; Peritoneal metastasis model on the 615mouse was established by intraperitoneal injection of 0.2 ml MFC cells(1×104 cells). Dil fluorescence was used to observe the transfer process and section of MFC. Immunohistochemistry was conducted to detect the expression of CCR4 and CCL22 in omental milky spot; the structure of Milky spot was observed by scanning electron microscopy. Mice were randomly divided into 2 groups, namely, the saline control group (received saline) and MFC group. The concentration of CCL22 in ascitic fluid was measured in the 615 mice injected MFC after 6,8,10 days and in the saline group. Results MFC first metastasizes to the milky spot on the omentum, the expression of CCR4 and CCL22 were observered in the milky spot. The surface layer cells in milky spot consisted of discontinuous mesothelial cells and mainly macrophages and lymphocytes. The average value of CCL22 was 43 pg/ml and 364 pg/ml respectively in saline control group and MFC group. Conclusions MDC/CCL22-CCR4 axis plays an important role in the development of peritoneal carcinomatosis in mouse gastric cancer.

Objective To understand the clinical features of hepatitis B virus(HBV)/hepatitis C virus(HCV)coinfected patients with different virological profiles. Methods The clinical data of 186 patients with HBV/HCV coinfection from May 1999 to May 2010 in the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University were analyzed retrospectively. The demographic data, epidemiological data, laboratory results and pathological index were analyzed. The statistical analysis was done using t test and chi square test. Results A total of 186 patients were divided into 4 groups:66(35.5%)in HBV DNA(-)/HCV RNA(-)group,8(4.3%)in HBV DNA(+)/HCV RNA(+)group,68(36.6%)in HBV DNA(+)/HCV RNA(-)group and 44(23.7%)in HBV DNA(-)/HCV RNA(+) group. The gender composition, complication incidence, transmission among drug users, alanine aminotransferase(ALT)level, total bilirubin(TBil)level, prothrombin activity(PTA)and hapatitis B e antigen(HBeAg)negative rate were all significantly different among four groups(F or x2=11.578,8.451,11.738,2.669,5.102,4.254 and 18.413,respectively;all P<0.05).In groups of HCV RNA(-)and HCV RNA(+),the proportions of patients infected through drug abuse were 49.3%and 23.1%,respectively(x2=9.987,P:0.002)and blood transfusion transmission were 29.9%and 46.2%,respectively(x2=4.412,P=0.036).When HBV DNA was negative, the median ALT levels in HCV RNA(-)and HCV RNA(+)patients were 177 U/L and 62 U/L,respectively(t=2.200,P<0.05),median TBil levels were 133 μmol/L and 20μmol/L,respectively (t=3.608,P<0.05)and PTA were 70.6%±27.7%and 83.3%±27.8%,respectively(t=-1.982,P<0.05).The HBeAg negative rate was not affected by HCV RNA levels(t=0.707,P>0.05).The HBeAg negative rate in HBV DNA(-)patients was 85.5%,which was higher than that in HBV DNA(+)patients(59.2%)(x2=16.393,P<0.05).Conclusions HBV DNA(+/-)/HCV RNA(-)profile were major components in HBV/HCV confection.HBV DNA level is related to disease progression and prognosis, but not relate to disease severity.Liver function damage and disease severity are aggravated with HCV RNA level decreases.HBV DNA level is related to HBeAg negative rate, while HCV RNA level is not related to HBeAg seroconversion rate.

OBJECTIVETo explore the molecular mechanism of Wenxin Capsule (WXC, an effective Chinese composite drug) in preventing and treating myocardial ischemia of coronary heart disease.
METHODSRat model of myocardial ischemia was established by subcutaneous multi-point injecting isoproterenol. Effect of WXC on cell apoptosis was observed by transmission electron microscopy and TUNEL method, and its effect on apoptotic related gene Bcl-2 and Fas gene protein expression was observed by immunohistochemical method.
RESULTSIsoproterenol induced myocardial ischemic injury could cause evident cardial cell apoptosis, obvious enhance Fas gene protein expression and mild enhance Bcl-2 gene protein expression. WXC could significantly down-regulate Fas, up-regulate Bcl-2 gene protein expression, significantly inhibit and block the myocardial cell apoptosis.
CONCLUSIONSTo inhibit and block the event of cell apoptosis through regulating Bcl-2 and Fas gene protein expression in ischemic myocardium might be one of the mechanisms of WXT in preventing and treating myocardial ischemic injury of coronary heart disease.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the impact of closed high-pressure suction drainage on the healing of the perineal wound after abdominoperineal resection.
METHODSPatients undergoing rectal abdominoperineal resection in the Wuhan Tongji Hospital from January 2009 to January 2011 were randomized into two groups including the study group(n=61, closed high-pressure suction drainage) and the control group(n=59, presacral drainage). The drainage volume, primary healing rate, and the healing time of perineal wounds were compared.
RESULTSThe total volume of the drainage in the first 3 days was (448.1±142.9) ml in the study group and (548.3±190.6) ml in the control group, the volume of the drainage on the third day was (28.1±12.7) ml and (125.9±84.3) ml respectively. The primary healing rate was 93.4%(57/61) in the study group and 74.6% (44/59) in the control group, the healing time was (13.5±3.5) days and (20.1±5.1) days respectively.
CONCLUSIONClosed high-pressure suction drainage may promote perineal wound healing following rectal abdominoperineal resection.
