Danhong injection is a compound preparation of traditional Chinese medicine Salvia miltiorrhiza and Carthamus tinctorius, and has been widely applied in treating coronary heart diseases and ischemic encephalopathy in clinic. Despite the complexity of its chemical compounds and the diversity of targets, especially in system biology, there have not a report for its action mechanism as a whole regulatory biological network. In this study, protein data of S. miltiorrhiza and C. tinctorius were searched in TCMGeneDIT database and agilent literature search (ALS) system to establish the multi-component protein network of S. miltiorrhiza, C. tinctorius and Danhong injection. Besides, the protein interaction network was built based on the protein-protein interaction in Genecards, BIND, BioGRID, IntAct, MINT and other databases. According to the findings, 10 compounds of S. miltiorrhiza and 14 compounds of C. tinctorius were correlated with proteins. The 24 common compounds had interactions with 81 proteins, and formed a protein interaction network with 60 none-isolated nodes. The Cluster ONE module was applied to make an enrichment analysis on the protein interaction network and extract one sub-network with significant difference P <0.05. The sub-network contains 23 key proteins, which involved five signaling pathways, namely Nod-like receptor signaling pathway, epithelial cell signaling in helicobacter pylori infection, Toll-like receptor signaling pathway, RIG-I-like receptor signaling pathway and neurotrophin signaling pathway through KEGG signaling pathway mapping. In this study, the computational system biology approach was adopted to preliminarily explain the molecular mechanism of main compounds of Danhong injection in preventing and treating diseases and provide reference for systematic studies on traditional Chinese medicine compounds.

Objective To investigate the prevalence of cervical spondylosis among adults in Beijing.Methods The prevalence of cervical spondyiosis among people older than 18 years who had lived in Beijing for more than six months was investigated in December 2010.The multi-stage sampling was used in this cross-sectional study.The related information was obtained by a self-designed questionnaire.Single and muhivariable Logistic regression models were applied to analyze high risk districts and populations.Results A total of 3859 people were enrolled in this study.Among them there were 531 people with cervical spondylosis,and the prevalence was 13.76％.The prevalence of cervical spondylosis in suburb (15.97％) was the highest compared with city center and countrysides (x2=8.257,P=0.016).The prevalence in females (10.49％) was higher than that (16.51％) in males (x2=29.432,P＜0.001).The distribution of prevalence among different age populations was inverted U shape,and the prevalence was higher in 45 years group (20.43％) and 60 years group (18.91％) compared with other two groups.The prevalence in employed group was 1.303 times higher than that in unemployed group (95％CI:1.008,1.684).According to the muhivariable logistic regression result,suburb (OR=1.306,P=0.026),females (OR=1.81 1,P＜0.001),people who were 45years or 60 years (OR=2.171,P＜0.001; OR=2.430,P＜0.001,respectively) and employed and retired people (OR=1.664,P=0.001; OR=1.303,P=0.043,respectively) were high risk population of cervical spondylosis.Conclusion The prevalence of cervical spondylosis among adults in Beijing was much higher and vastly distributed.It's necessary to reinforce the prevention,diagnosis and treatment study.Young females,people aged 45 years or 60 years,and employed people were high risk populations.

Objective To analyze the distribution and clinical characters of cyanotic congenital heart diseases in newborns.Method We examined the suspicious cases with color doppler ultrasonic cardiogram(CFM),and compared with the results of autopsies.Results The most common congenital diseases in the group were complete transposition of the great arteries,with the proportion of 34.4%, and most of them were compounded cardiovascular disorders. The most common symptom was cyanosis, took the proportion of 84.3%; some patients had no cyanosis, tachypnea and murmurs.The cases with cardiovascular disorders most were combined with type Ⅱrespiratory failure and metabolic acidosis.Conclusions There are many types of congenital heart diseases, the symptoms are untypical,so the suspicious cases shall examine with CFM as early as possible.

Objective To investigate the incidence of heterotopic ossification in cervical artificial disc replacement in Chinese mainland population by meta-analysis.Methods The related literatures published between 1997 and June 2012 were collected from both English databases,including Pubmed,Ovid,Cochrane library and Embase,and Chinese databases including Chinese Biomedical Literature Database,China National Knowledge Infrastructure,VIP database and Wanfang database.Literatures were selected in strict accordance with the inclusion and exclusion criteria.Studies providing data of prevalence of heterotopic ossification after cervical artificial disc replacement in Chinese mainland population were included.The information of literatures was extracted by excerpts questionnaire,and recorded by two independent researchers.I2 was calculated to test heterogeneity among studies.A random effects model was used if I2 ≥25％.Subgroup analysis was done according to the number of levels of disc replacement,brands of implants and duration of follow-up.Sensitivity analysis was done according to the sample size.The Meta-Analyst software was used for statistical analysis.Results A total of forty studies (1822 cases) were included in this study.The pooled incidence of heterotopic ossification was 7.3％ (95％CI:4.7％ to 11.0％).For single and mixed level disc replacement,the incidence was 11.6％ and 5.8％,respectively.For single and mixed level disc replacement using Bryan disc,the incidence was 13.8％ and 5.4％,respectively,and the total incidence was 7.2％.No matter the single or mixed level disc replacement,the incidence of heterotopic ossification increased with follow-up.Conclusion The incidence of heterotopic ossification in cervical artificial disc replacement is high in Chinese mainland population,while it is lower than in foreigners.However,it is necessary to monitor its long-term incidence due to its increase with follow-up.

Due to its effect of systems regulation and promotion on body, Ginseng is always referred to be long-term used as a dietary supplement. But it was still unclear about its target of the tonic effects and also the side-effects long-term use may bring. Urine metabolomic method is suitable for long-term studies of pharmaco-dynamics, pharmacology and toxicology of traditional Chinese medicine because of its characteristics of non-invasive and monitoring the whole-body metabolism. This study was designed to detect the dynamic variation of rat urine metabolome along with a long-term administration of total ginsenosides using GC-TOF based metabolomic technology. Our result showed that either short-term or chronic administration of ginsenosides did not impact the rat urine metabolome significantly (as the PCA subgroup was not successful). By comparison, the short-term (1-3 w) dose of ginsenosides had the biggest metabolic influence including TCA cycle, catecholamines and neurotransmitter amino acids. Medium-term (6-10 w) dose had a gradually lower effect and long-term (27 w) dose almost had no effect. Our study indicates that both short and long-term administration of ginsenosides showed almost no obvious side-effect on the experimental animals.

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment of slight and moderate benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)with large doses of cemilton by urodynamie test.Methods A systematic review of using large doses of cernihon only for 80 patients with BPH with 7 grade ＜ International Prostate Symptom Score(IPSS)≤20 grade.All cases with cemilton had been administered in a dosage of 750 mg,three times a day for one year.All were respectively given IPSS,postvoiding residual urine(PVR),maximum flow rate(Qmax)and pressure-flow(A-G)test in order to assess the effectiveness at pre-treatment and 3,6,12 months after treatment.Results All patients had followed up for(1.2±1.6)years,additionally 26 of those were removed and others had received complete follow-up.Before the treatment IPSS was(20.5±4.5)grade,PVR was(42.5±8.2)ml,Qmax was(10.2±2.3)ml/s,A-G was 56.5±12.8,PQmax was (54.8±13.7)mm Hg(1 mm Hg = 0.133 kPa),and 12 months later,IPSS was(11.0±3.3)grade,PVR was (15.9±7.4)ml,Qmax was(15.7±2.5)ml/s,A-G was 49.2±13.6,PQmax was(43.6±14.9)mm Hg.There were significantly difference between pre-treatment and post-treatment data of the urodynamics(P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions The effectiveness of the treatment of slight and moderate benign prostatic hyperplasia with large doses of cemihon are relatively satisfactory.Main post-treatment urodynamic parameters obviously improves than that of the pre-treatment.

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment of high risk benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) with transrectal high-intensity focused ultrasound (TR-HIFU) by urodynamic test. Methods One hundred and thirty patients with BPH, most of who suffering with diabetes mellitus,cardio-cerebrovascular disease, respiratory disease. All patients were given the operation with Sonablate-500 high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU). International prostate symptom score (IPSS), quality of life (QOL), maximum urinary flow rate (Qmax), post void residual urine volume (PVR), pressure-flow tests (A-G) were employed for the evaluation of curatives effect on preoperation, 30th and 90th day after the treatment. Results The duration of the TR-HIFU prostate ablation treatment was 15-85 rain. One hundred and seven patients after treatment were followed up for 3 months. Compared the effect before treatment with that after treatment, IPSS improved from (27.0 ±11.5) scores to (8.5±1.4) scores, Qmax increased from (5.7±2.3) ml/s to (14.1±4.2) ml/s, PVR decreased from (118.5±78.0) ml to (30.0±15.0) mI,A-G parameters reduced from 62.4±19.3 to 25.6±13.0 and urine volume (VV) increased from (85.8 + 42.0) ml to (194.0±52.0) ml. The parameters all altered obviously (P < 0.05). Conclusions TR-HIFU appears highly attractive as a new optional, safe and efficacious and minimally invasive treatment for the high risk BPH. Main post-operative urodynamie parameters are more obviously improved than those of the preoperation.

BACKGROUND:Large-scale expansion of undifferentiated and multipotential adipose-derived stem cells using serum-free culture system is a difficult issue to be resolved. OBJECTIVE:To establish an in vitro culture system combined with the extracellular matrix in order to investigate the efficiency, effectiveness and security of extracellular matrix on expanding adipose-derived stem cells. METHODS:In vitro isolated adipose-derived stem cells were seeded in traditional two-dimensional plastic plates and extracellular matrix-coated plates supplemented with serum-free medium respectively. After in vitro expansion, total cellnumber, expression of cellsurface markers, cellsenescence degree and multipotent differentiation ability (adipogenic, osteoblastic and chondrogenic differentiation) of adipose-derived stem cells cultured under both conditions were detected and compared. Moreover, the clinical safety of adipose-derived stem cells expanded in extracellular matrix-coated plates was investigated. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Total cellnumber of passage 5 adipose-derived stem cells cultured in extracellular matrix-coated plates was 10 times more than that in traditional two-dimensional plastic plates. Flow-cytometric analysis showed that adipose-derived stem cells cultured with extracellular matrix expressed stem cellsurface markers. cellular senescence examination showed that almost al of passage 15 adipose-derived stem cells cultured with extracellular matrix showed no aging, while most passage 5 adipose-derived stem cells cultured by the two-dimensional system aged and lost their proliferation ability. Multidirectional induction of adipose-derived stem cells showed that passage 15 adipose-derived stem cells cultured with extracellular matrix could stil differentiate into adipocytes, osteoblasts and chondrocytes as passage 5 adipose-derived stem cells did, which performed much better than the induced differentiations of passage 5 adipose-derived stem cells cultured by the two-dimensional system. Karyotype analysis and in vivo invasion experiment insured the clinical safety of adipose-derived stem cells expanded with extracellular matrix. Al above results suggest a safe and more efficient expansion system of extracellular matrix for clinical application using the serum-free culture system combined with extracellular matrix.

Objective To evaluate the effect of mind mapping on adverse effects caused by medication via patient control alagesia pump(PCA).Methods One hundred and seventy-nine patients with PCA pump after operation were divided into control group(n=90)and observation group(n=89)according to the admission time.The observation group was nursed with mind mapping and the control group with routine method. The incidences of adverse effects caused by medication via PCA pump were compared between the two groups.Result The incidences of adverse effect in the observation group and the control group were 19.1%and 32.2%respectively,with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion Nursing with mind mapping for medication via PAC pump can improve nurses’clinical ability in observation and nursing and therefore effectively prevent and deal with adverse effect caused by medication via PCA pump to relieve patients’pain and improve nursing quality.
