Objective To investigate the effect and side effects of flurbiprofen axetil combined with fentanyl in postoperative patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) after craniotomy. Methods 60 patients undergoing scheduled craniotomy were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group with 30 cases in each group, and received flurbiprofen axetil combined with fentanyl and only fentanyl respectively in PCA after craniotomy. The visual analogue scale (VAS), sedation score (SS) and the side effects were evaluated in 24 h after craniotomy. Results There was no significant difference in VAS between the two groups ( P>0.05). The SS, side effects such as nausea and vomiting in the treatment group were significantly less than that in the control group ( P<0.05).Conclusion Flurbiprofen axetil combined with fentanyl in PCA can reduce the side effects of fentanyl and offers overall favorable analgesic responses.

In order to assess the effect of long-term versus short-term intravesical chemotherapy in preventing the recurrence of patients with non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer, we searched several databases with words as mesh terms and free text words to find all eligible randomized clinical trials (RCTs) for the comparison of the two strategies of instillation durations. "Observed-Expected events research (O-E)" and "Variance (V)" for calculating hazard ratio (HR) were used in Revman 5.2 software recommended by Cochrane Collabration for data analysis. Sensitivity and subgroup analysis were selected to minish heterogeneity. GRADEpro 3.6 profile recommended by Cochrane Collabration was employed for quality assessment of analyses. Finally, 13 eligible RCTs with 4216 patients were included in this review and 16 comparisons from 13 trials were involved for analysis. The pooled analysis revealed no significant difference between long-term and short-term duration [HR=0.99, 95% CI (0.89, 1.11), P=0.89]. Within the subgroup analysis, patients benefited from long-term instillations with a start regimen of one immediate instillation [HR=0.83, 95% CI (0.69, 1.00), P=0.05]. But patients were not suitable to receive long-term instillations with epirubicin (EPI) [HR=1.01, 95% CI (0.91, 1.13), P=0.78]. The progression rate was not reduced after long-term instillations [HR=0.96, 95% CI (0.66, 1.39), P=0.82]. From our results, patients should not receive introvesical chemotherapy more than half a year. In contrast, patients with one immediate instillation are preferred to have a long-term duration at least one year. Long-term instillations can not reduce the progression rate.

Based on the main schemes of the prevention and therapy for SARS issued by the state and provincial administrations of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), the characters and regulations for the application and performance of TCM in preventing and treating SARS were studied by cluster analysis. Some problems in the rational exertions of TCM in preventing and treating SARS were also discussed. Some proposals for the rational uses of traditional Chinese drugs (TCD) in preventing and treating SARS were offered finally in this article.

Objective To observe the effect of electroacupuncture(EA) on the angiogenesis in rats with cerebral ischemia. Methods 30 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into 3 groups:normal group, model group and EA group. After the establishment of acute middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO),the rats were treated with EA on DU20 and DU26.Then the expression of bFGF,Ang-2 and Tie-2 by immunohistochemical staining was ob- served. Results The expression of bFGF and Ang-2 around the infarction locus of EA group increased remarkably compared with normal group and model group and the increase of Tie-2 was not significant. Conclusion EA can increase the expression of bFGF and Ang-2 around the infarction locus and promote the angiogenesis in rats with cere- bral ischemia.

AIM:To investigate the effect of compound of cordyceps sinensis(CS) and tripterygium hypoglaucum on survival time of the heterologous human-pig graft skin.METHODS: CS solution were used to hatch the skin graft and CS was used locally.Ciclosporin A(CsA) and normal saline solution(NS) were used in control.Besides, skin HE staining was detected and CD4,CD8,IL-2 and IL-10 were also examined before and after operation.RESULTS: The survival time of the graft skin treated with CS was(21.20?3.19) days, while the control group treated with NS was(10.17?1.94) days(P

The potential of Rhizobium sp. N613 to produce the exopolysaccharide (REPS) was studied in this paper. Using an orthogonal design in a flask-shaker culture system, the fermentation medium and conditions of synthesizing REPS were optimized. Based on these results, the fermentation kinetic parameters were obtained in the batch fermentation with a 10L fermentor. The REPS yield of 11.31g/L was achieved by metabolic regulation during 40 h fed-batch fermentation. Transplanted tumor models of sarcoma 180 in mice were used to evaluate the anti-tumor effect. The result of anti-tumor activities showed that inhibition rate was 53.40%, when dose of REPS was 5mg/kg. These results indicate that REPS has the following properties: the short duration of fermentation, the high yield, the low cost, the effective immunocompetence and thickening. Thus, REPS has the value of development and application.

Vitexin, a naturally occurring flavone glycoside in plants, has many pharmacological effects, which is widely distributed in nature. This paper reviewed the research progress of the distribution of vitexin in the plant resources and its pharmacological effects, and summarized its application prospects, aiming to provide a useful reference for the development of vitexin-enriched plant resources.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the therapeutic effect of Liujunzi decoction combined with Zuojin pills in treating the radioactive duodenitis and their mechanism, and compare with clinical routine acid suppressants combined with mucous membrane protective preparations to study the mechanism of their efficacy.
METHODAccording to the study of Williams J P and characteristics of duodenitis, and by reference to the radiation enteritis modeling standard, we took the lead in establishing the mouse radioactive duodenal injury model. The model mice were randomly divided into the control group (n = 26), traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) group (n = 16) and the western medicine (oral administration with famotidine 0.5 mL + almagate suspension 0.3 mL per mouse, once a day) group (n = 16). After the standard administrating, such objective indexes as general condition, weight, changes in health score, pathology and expression of inflammatory factors were observed to evaluate the efficacy.
RESULTThe radioactive duodenitis model of mice was successfully established with 12 Gy. Mice in the control group suffered from weight loss, anorexia, low fluid intake, loose stools, and occasionally mucous bloody stool, poor spirit, dim fur, lack of exercise and arch back. Mice in drug intervention groups were generally better than those in the pure irradiation group. The IL-6, IL-1beta, TNF-alpha mRNA expressions in spleen and mesenteric lymph node tissues in TCM and western medicine groups showed a declining trend compared with the control group. Their concentrations in peripheral blood serum also slightly changed. The TCM group revealed notable advantage in reducing inflammatory factors. The microscopic observation showed that a better mucosa repair in intervention groups than the pure irradiation group. The improved Chiu's scoring method showed a statistical significance in the difference between TCM and western medicine groups (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONLiujunzi decoction combined with Zuojin pills could treat acute radiation enteritis, regulate organic immunity, and inhibit acute injury, promote local tissue repair, with the potential to resist such adverse effects as radiation intestinal fibrosis. The regulation of inflammatory factor release is one of efficacy generation mechanisms.
