It is common in bacterial genomes of the integration of prophages. As an important participant of the vital movement of their hosts, prophages affect closely the biological properties of the hosts. Therefore, if we want to comprehend a bacterial genome fully, it is essential to recognize and understand accurately prophages in it. This article is a compendious review about the classification, distribution, identification, evolution of prophages and the interaction with their hosts.

Objective To analyze the factors related to glare occurred after the phakic intraocular lens (P-IOL) implantation,and to raise the standard for the P-IOL selection.Design Retrospective case series.Participants 104 patients with high myopia underwent P-IOL implantation in Beijing Tongren Hospital.Methods In 104 cases,22 cases (22 eyes) were implanted angle supported Phakic6 designed accord with corneal symmetry,54 cases (54 eyes) were implanted iris fixed Verisyse,and 28 cases (28 eyes) were implanted posterior chamber PRL.Selection of the diameter of P-IOL optics depended on P-IOL diopters.The pupil diameter,the P-IOL optic center position,the pupil and corneal center position were measured with anterior segment optical coherence tomography (OCT).The contrast sensitivity (CS) under different condition (day,day and glare,night,night and glare) and in different space frequency (1.5,3,6, 12,18c/d)were examined with Optec6500 system.Main Outcome Measures Glare incidence,CS,and the influence of pupil diameter and P-IOL location to glare.Results None of the 104 P-IOL eyes occurred glare in day time.59 eyes (56.73%) complained of glare in dime condition.The glare incidence was 63.18% (14/22) in Phakic6 eyes,55.56% (30/54) in Verisyse eyes,and 53.27% (15/28) in PRL eyes (P=0.691).CS of all surgical eyes were improved in day time with or without glare luminous environment (P=0.000).And the CS of halo-complaining eyes was lower than of no halo eyes in night time with or without glare luminous environment (P=0.000).Glare oc- curred more frequently in eyes with the pupil diameter larger than P-IOL diameter in clime condition after surgery (10 in Phakic6 eyes, 20 in Verisyse eyes,12 in PRL eyes,all P

Objective To study the dynamic changes of soluble intracellular adhesion molecule-1 (sICAM-1), and to assess its role in the pathogenesis of hemorrhagic fever(HFRS) with renal syndrome. Methods A total of 30 patients with HFRS(case group) and 20 healthy subjects (control group) from Worker Hospital of Finance & Commerce of Qiqihar city were included in the study during 2006 - 2007. Double-antibody sandwich ELISA method was used to measure the level of sICAM-1 in serum samples. Results The serum levels of sICAM-1 in patients with HFRS in early stage, critical stage, convalescent stage were(47.56±6.51), (94.23±15.36), (54.19±8.42)ng/L,respectively. The serum level of sICAM-1 in control group was (22.63±3.40)ng/L. The above values were compared between any two groups, differences were statistically significant (all P < 0.01). The serum level of urea nitrogen in patients with HFRS in early stage, critical stage, convalescent stage were (5.16±0.12), (33.84±9.24),(8.20±1.30)mmol/L, respectively. The serum level of urea nitrogen in control group was (4.20±0.56)mmol/L.The above value were compared between any two groups, the differences were statistically significant (all P< 0.01). Conclusions sICAM-1 is involved in the pathogenesis of HFRS as protective factors. Cellular immune playes an important role in the pathogenesis of HFRS.

OBJECTIVE:To provide reference for further development of Internet drug transaction services in China. METH-ODS:The data of online drugstores with top 20 approvals data and sales amount were collected bu the Internet,the normative man-agement was evaluated. Meanwhile,questionnaire was conducted to survey and analyze the cognition,buying drugs and correspond-ing requirements of some Shanghai citizens for Internet drug retail. RESULTS:By Jun. 12,2015,totally 307 retail chain drug-stores(online drugstores)had got the License of Internet Drugs Transaction,only 62 online drugstores(20.2%)were in full compli-ance with the normative management;the top 19 online drugstores supplied averagely 1 072±815 OTC medicines,including 259± 165 chemical drugs and 813 ± 650 Chinese traditional medicines,and the top 3 were jianke.com (3 658 species),J1.com (2 071 species)and 360 kad.com(1 523 species). Totally 216 questionnaires were sent out,and 183 were effectively received with effec-tive recovery of 84.7%. The 183 surveyed citizens showed high cognition in distinguishing the authenticity of online drugstores (75.4%) and the authenticity of drugs (67.1%),but low cognition in online drugstore opening qualifications and Internet selling drugs;only 22.4% had the experience of buying drugs online,the degree of satisfaction towards online shopping,from the highest to the lowest,were drug price(62.5%),professional consultation of pharmacists(50.0%),variety of drugs(45.0%),quality of drugs(37.5%),delivery time(35.0%),etc.;the most probably purchased medicine category were vitamins and minerals(63.9%) and medicines for common diseases(40.4%). CONCLUSIONS:Currently the demands and confidence of online drugs shopping of Shanghai citizens are still scarce. Though the access of retailing prescription drugs would spur the Internet drug business,the condi-tion is still immature. It is suggested to sell prescription drugs in a limited way and improve their access threshold,promote Medi-care settlement to multi-faceted promote the orderly development of Internet drug transaction services.

Objective To improve the recognition of nervous system symptoms of inborn errors.Methods Five patients with organic acidemias were screened by urine organic acid analysis(gas chromotography-mass spectrometry,GC/MS),3 cases of methylmalolic acidemias(MMA) and 2 cases of propionic acidemias(PA) were confirmed.They were treated with special diet and medicine after diagnosis.Result The improvement of mental development was observed after treatment.Conclusions Most of organic acidemias involve nervous systems,causing non-specific symptoms of nervous system as lethergy,seizures,mental retardation.Inborn errors of metabolism shall be kept in mind when causes of the symtoms of acidosis,seisures,mental retardation and lethergy are investigated.GC/MS is a very important method in diagnosis of organic acidemias.Early diagnosis and early treatment can improve the mental prognosis.

Objective To evaluate the effects of edaravone postconditioning and remote ischemic postconditioning on myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury in rats.Methods Forty male Sprague-Dawley rats,aged 8 weeks,weighing 250-300 g,were randomly divided into 5 groups (n =8 each):sham operation group (group S); group I/R; edaravone postconditioning group (group E); remote ischemic postconditioning group (group P); edaravone postconditioning and remote ischemic postconditioning group (group EP).Myocardial I/R was induced by occlusion of anterior desending branch of left coronary artery for 30 min followed by 180 min reperfusion.Edaravone 3 mg/kg was injected intravenously at 1 min before reperfusion in groups E and EP.The animals underwent 10 min ischemia of bilateral hind limbs starting from 20 min of myocardial ischemia in groups P and EP.Left ventricular systolic pressure (LVSP),left ventricular end-diastolic pressure (LVEDP) and ± dp/dtmax were measured and recorded during reperfusion.Results Compared with group S,LVSP and ± dp/dtmax were significantly decreased and LVEDP was increased in the other groups (P ＜ 0.05).LVSP and ± dp/dtmax were significantly higher and LVEDP was lower during reperfusion in groups E,P and EP than in group I/R,and in group EP than in groups E and P (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Edaravone postconditioning and remote ischemic postconditioning can alleviate myocardial I/R injury and offers better efficacy than either alone.

Objective To investigate the proliferative characteristics of fibroblast-like synovial cells (FLS)in osteoarthritis in vitro and the mechanism of the immunosuppressive effect of total glucusides of paeony(TGP).Methods FLS of OA and non-inflamed synovium(NS)were cultured and identified in vitro in the presence or absence of TGP.After incubation,the survival fraction(SF)of FLS was evaluated by MTI' and the TNF-?,IFN-?and bFGF level in cultured FLS supernatant was measured by ELISA.The expression of FLS c-los mRNA and cell cycle of OA-FLS was observed by RT-PCR and flow eytometry respectively at the same time.Results No statistical significant differences were noted between the OA and NS FLS in pro- liferating double time.High doses of TGP suppressed FLS-SF more evidently in OA patients than in NS(P0.05).Conclusion High dose TGP can inhibit OA-FLS proliferation,modulate cy- tokine secretion and c-fos expression in OA.This suggests that TGP has immunosuppressive effect on OA syn- ovitis,probably by preventing the synovial hypertrophy in OA.

Objective To investigate the proliferation characteristics of fibroblast like synovial cells (FLS)in osteoarthritis in vitro and the mechanism of the immnnosuppressive effect of T-614 [N-(3-formy- lamino-4-oxo-6-phenoxy-4H-chromen-7-yl)methanesulfonamide ] on them.Methods FLS of OA and non- inflamed synovium(NS)were cultured and identified in vitro in the presence or absence of T-614.After incu- bation,the survival fraction(SF)of FLS was evaluated by MTT,cell cycle was observed using fluorescence - activated cell sorting(FCS)method and the expression of c-fos and COX-2 mRNA was examined by RT- PCR in FLS of OA patients.Results No statistically significant difference was noted between the OA and NS FLS in proliferation ability and cell cycle.High dose T-614 suppressed FLS SF obviously in OA and NS sta- tistically(P＜0.05),whereas the inhibition degree was not different between the two kinds of FLS.The agent induced cell apoptosis and reduced the accumulation of c-fos mRNA in OA-FLS at dose 1000 ml/L,prolonged G_1 term and shortened S term at dose 200 ml/L.The expression of COX-2 mRNA in OA FLS was suppressed obviously by T-614 at dose 1000 ml/L.Conclusion OA FLS do not display a distinct activated unlimited viability compared with NS cells,without stimulated by proinflammatory cytokine in vitro.High dose T-614 moderately inhibits the proliferation and differentiation of FLS,directly affects gene of the c-fos and COX-2 expression in OA,which may contribute to its immunosuppressive effect on OA'synovitis.
