The study on mycoflora in bottled purified d rinking water was carried out.91 Samples of products were colleted from 59 bottl ing factories in Fujian Province and were examined and identified.461 Strains of fungi were isolated from 58(63 74%)different samples.Fungi imperfecti was the e umycetes isolated most frequently.These fungi were not closely related to the ae robic bacterial count and coliform of the studied waters but was clearly associa ted with the packaging of the products.The result confirmed that the cross conta minations on the process of post-purification were the main source of fungi in the final products.

A simple and sensitive method was developed to screen ?-PL p ro duced strains from soils. 150mg/L K_2Cr_2O_7 was added to th e solid medium for actinomycetes enriching. A basic dye, methylene blue, incorp orated in the agar plate to detect alkali producers, because dye reacted with th e secreted basic polymers by electrostatic interaction with the secreted basic p dymers and formed special zoon. And then dragendorff regent was used to detect alkaloid producers. Four ?-PL producers were obtained by TLC analysis. Meanw hile, phylogenetic analysis of PL6-3 strain, including morphology, physiologica l and biochemical characters and chemotaxomy were performed and phylogenetic tre e was constructed based on the 16S rDNA sequences. And the results indicated th at PL6-3 strain is a member of Kitasatospora.

AIM To investigate the therapeutic effect and mechanism of glucosides of Chaenomeles speciosa (GCS) on adjuvant arthritis (AA) in rats. METHODS Complete Freund's adjuvant was used to induce AA in rats. Secondary paw swelling of AA rats was measured with volume meter. Pain response and polyarthritis index were scored. Meanwhile, ConA induced thymocyte proliferation and LPS induced splenocyte proliferation were assayed by 3 (4,5 dimethylthiazol 2 thiazolyl) 2,5 diphenyl 2H tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay. IL 1 production was measured by thymocyte proliferation assay; TNF ? and PGE 2 production were determined by radio immunoassay. RESULTS GCS (30, 60, 120 mg?kg -1 ) and Actarit (60 mg?kg -1 ) were given by intragastric administration for 8 days from the 17th day after immunization. Treatment with GCS (60, 120 mg?kg -1 ) and Actarit (60 mg?kg -1 ) for 5 days significantly diminished the secondary hind paw swelling, as well as relieved the pain response and the polyarthritic symptoms of the whole body as compared with AA model group. GCS (120 mg?kg -1 ) and Actarit (60 mg?kg -1 ) restored the diminished thymocytes proliferation ConA induced in AA rats. GCS reduced the enhanced productions of IL 1,TNF ? and PGE 2 from peritoneal macrophages in AA rats. CONCLUSION GCS has therapeutic effect on AA in rats, which may be related to regulation function of thymocyte T cells and inhibiting the productions of proimflammatory cytokines secreted by peritoneal macrophages.

[Objective] To explore the relationship between neuroendocrine changes caused by melatonin (MT) hypo-secretion and kidney-in deficiency syvndrome during prepubescence. [Methods] Thirty SD rats after ablactation were randomly divided into normalgroup (group. A), model group (group B) and herbal medicine group (group C, treated with kidney-yin-nourishing ande(?)ficiency-fire-clearing herbs). Rats in groups B and C were exposed to light continuously for 30 days and simultaneously groupC was given kidney-yin-nourishing and deficiency-fire-clearing herbal medicine (13.3 g?kg-1?d-1, qd) for 30 days . After treatment, blood samples were collected at 0:00-2:00 o'clock to observe the changes of blood MT, testosterone (T), epinephrine (E) and norepinephrine (NE) levels. Objective To evaluate the inhibitory effect of 2-(8-hydroxy-6-methoxy-1-oxo-1-H-2-benzopyran-3-Y1) propionic acid (NM-3) on lymphangiogenesis in gastric cancer using orthotopic implantated tumor models of BALB/C nude mice. Methods A BALB/C nude mouse model of transplanted in situ human gastric cancer was established. Twenty-eight nude mice were divided into four groups with 7 each: control group, NM-3 treated group, carboplatin (10 mg/kg) treated group,and NM-3 combiantion group injected with normal saline, 5 mg/kg of NM-3, 10 mg/kg of carboplatin or 5 mg/kg of NM-3, + 10 mg/kg carboplatin, respectively, twice a week for 8 weeks. At the end of the 8th week, all mice were sacrificed for detection of lymphatic microvessel density (LMVD),lymphatic vessel endothelial hyaluranic acid receptor 1 (LYVE-1), podoplanin and Prox-1 byimmunohistochemistry with staining. Results In comparison with control group, the LYVE-1 level in other three groups was decreased with no significant difference (P＞ 0.05). The concentrations of podoplanin and Prox-1 in NM-3 group and combination group decreased significantly than those in control group and carboplatin group (P ＜ 0.05). The number of LMVD in NM-3 group and combination group was 4.72±0.50 and 4.78± 0.38, respectively, which was significantly lower than that in control group (7.35±0.55)and carboplatin group (6.98i0.35, P＜0.05). Conclusion The NM-3 can inhibit the growth of gastric cancer by interfering lymphangiogenesis of gastric cancer.

In order to further study mouse embryonic stem cells(ES cells),lentiviral vector PLL-IRES-Nanog-Neo was constructed.Mouse ES cells overexpressed nanog by mediation of lentiviral were cultured on mouse fetal fibroblast feeders after 2 weeks under G418 media and examined according to gowth characteristics. Results were showed that 918 bp nanog fragments were expressed in mouse ES cells mediated by lentiviral vector PLL-IRES-Nanog-Neo,mouse nanog-ES cells were taken on mass-like image and positve with alkaline phosphatase staining and Oct4 and SSEA1 immunocytochemistry under no LIF condition in the media. It is concluded that mouse ES cells Elevated nanog gene expression by mediation of lentiviral were constucted and cultured.

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of intervertional devascularization and surgical devascularization in treatment of patients with upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage .Methods Ninety-nine cases treated with intervertional devaacularization or surgical devascularization were retrospectively studied including 48 cases in intervertional group and 51 cases in surgical group.The postoperative resection, complications and rebleeding time were compared by X2 test and t test between two methods.Results The 12 months, 24 months and 36 months cumulative rebleeding rates after intervertional devascularization were 12.5% (6/47) ,24.5% (11/45), 27.9% (12/43) respectively.The rate after surgical devaacularization were 29.2% (14/48) ,44.7% (21/47), 48.9% (22/45) respectively.There were statistically significant differences between the intervertional and surgical groups (X2=3.843,4.150,4.083, P < 0.05).The complications of intervertional devascularization included fever 85.4% (41/48), bellyache 81.3% (39/48), portalvein thrombosis 4.2% (2/48), intraabdominal hemorrhage 2.1% (1/48), infection 2.1% (1/48) and death 2.1% (1/48).The complications of surgical devaacularization included fever 68.6% (35/51), bellyache 62.7% (32/51), generous hydroperitoneum 25.5% (13/51), portalvein thrombosis 37.3% (19/51), splenic vein thrombosis 11.8% (6/51), hepatic encephalopathy 3.9% (2/51), hepatorenal syndrome 2.0% (1/51), intraabdominal hemorrhage 2.0% (1/51), death 3.9% (2/51) and infection 15.7% (8/51).There were statistically significant differences of fever, bellyache, generous hydroperitoneum, portalvein thrombosis, splenic vein thrombosis between the intervertional and surgical groups(X2=4.174,3.098,16.199,6.011,5.536,14.085,P <0.05).Conclusions The intervertional devascularization procedure is simple, safe and effective method for treating upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage for portal hypertensive.The clinical effect is better than that of surgical devascularization.

Objective To investigate the suppressive effects of collagen from Cyanea nozakii on adjuvant induced arthritis inrat.Methods Rats with adjuvant arthritis received different do- ses of Cyanea nozakii collagen by intragastric administration for two weeks.Incidence and severity of arthritis were assessed by calculation of mean arthritis index,the concentrations of NO,MDA and activity of SOD in the serum were examined.Results Cyanea nozakii colla- gen at different doses could ameliorate the adjuvant induced arthritis,suppress the concen- trations of NO,MDA and increase the activity of SOD in the serum.Conclusion Cyanea noza- kii collagen has therapeutic efficacy in treatment of adjuvant arthritis rats,and the mecha- nism of Cyanea nozakii collagen is probably related to the antioxidation.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effects of Morina Officinalis How (MOH) on the abnormal levels of serum luteotrophic hormone (LH) and LH receptor (LHR) in the testis tissue induced by cellphone radiation (CPR) in rats.

METHODSFifty adult male SD rats were randomly divided into five groups of equal number: sham CPR, untreated CPR, negative double distilled water (DDW) control, aqueous MOH extract, and alcohol MOH extract. All the animals were exposed to mobile phone radiation except those of the sham CPR group. Then, the rats of the latter two groups were treated intragastrically with MOH at 20 g per kg of the body weight per day in water and alcohol, respectively. After 2. weeks of treatment, all the rats were sacrificed for measurement of the levels of serum LH and LHR in the testis tissue.

RESULTSThe levels of serum LH and LHR were 30.15 ± 8.71 and 33.28 ± 6.61 in the aqueous MOH group and 0.96 ± 0.06 and 0.94 ± 0.08 in the alcohol MOH group, both significantly decreased as compared with the negative DDW controls (P < 0.05), but with no remarkable difference between the two MOH groups (P > 0.05).

CONCLUSIONMOH can improve CPR-induced abnormality of LH and LHR in adult male rats.
