Along with the frequent international communication of TCM, translation of related classics becomes increasingly important. The translation of TCM classics' titles, which reveal the content of the classics, is equally essential. Dictated by the translating principles of standardization, correspondence, readability and nationalism, the paper analyzed the translation of TCM classics' titles containing modesty words, and put forward the following translation strategies translation: The method of foreignization is preferred for the translation of titles involving heterogeneous culture in order to retain the unique TCM concept while the method of domestication is advised for the translation of titles involving elements in conflict with the target culture; In the translation of TCM classics' titles containing modesty word(s), weakening or omitting the sense of self-depreciation is proposed. The paper aimed to contribute to the standardization of TCM nomenclature translation in order to promote international dissemination of TCM classics.

ObjectiveTo investigate the corelation between fibrinogen in pleural effusion and pleural adhesion in tuberculosis exudative pleurisy.Methods234 cases of primary tuberculosis pleurisy were divided into 3 groups (A、B、C) according to their level of fibrinogen in pleural effusion from low to high. The incidence rates of pleural adhesion were assessed during the course of treatment and after treatment.ResultsThe incidence rate of pleural adhesion in the course of treatment were as those: group A 10.5%, group B 32.3%, group C 54.5%. After treatment, it was as those: group A 10.5%, group B 16.9%, group C 42.4%. Whenever, there was significant difference between group C and group A or B (P<0.05).ConclusionThe level of fibrinogen in pleural effusion may be associated with pleural adhesion, which hinder the recovery of patients.

Objective To explore the effect of the ?-blocker —metoprolol on the treatment of vasovagal syncope(VVS) in children. Methods Twenty-nine children with unexplained syncope and positive responses to head-up tilt test(HUT) were included in the study.Sixteen of them took metoprolol(treatment group) and 13 of them took vitamin B or oryzanol (control group) at least 2 weeks and HUT were repeated and syncope episodes were observed. Results In treatment group,9 of 16 patients had no syncope episode while 5 of 16 patients had fewer syncope episodes,1 case had more syncope episodes, and 1 case remained the same.HUT were repeated and 6 of 9 cases had negative outcome. In control group,1 of 13 patients had no syncope episode while 5 of 13 patients had fewer syncope episode,3 cases had more syncope episodes and 4 cases remained the same.HUT were repeated and 3 of 7 cases had ne-(gative) outcome. Conclusion These results indicate that adminstering metoprolol orally may be effective for VVS in children.

Objective To investigate the expression of Fas/FasL in children with aplastic anemia(AA) and its clinical significance. To explore the pathogenesis of AA.Methods CD34+ cell counts and the expression of Fas/FasL in 12 children with severe AA(SAA),18 with chronic AA(CAA)and 10 normal children were detected by flow cytometry combining monocolon antibody. Results The expression of Fas in children with AA were significantly higher than that in control group(P0.05).Conclusions Fas/FasL systeam take part in inducing CD34+ cell apoptosis. This may contribute to understanding the decrease number of stem cells and bone marrow failure.

Objective To observe the effect of power-assisted functional electrical stimulation (PAFES)therapy on ankle joint function recovery in stroke patients. Methods Ninety hemiplegic stroke patients were randomly and evenly divided into a control group,a PAFES group, and a neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES)group. All groups received conventional rehabilitation training.PAFES group adopted PAFES treatment on affected lower extremities and NMES group was given the NMES therapy on the tibialis anterior of the affected lower limbs,in addition to conventional rehabilitation training. The active range of motion (AROM) of ankle dorsiflexion,FuglMeyer motor assessment (FMA),Barthel index (BI) and Ankle flexion and extension movement (AFEM) in 10 seconds were evaluated before the trial and after 4 weeks treatment. Results After treatment, there were significant differences in the AROM of ankle dorsiflexion,FMA,BI and AFEM (P < 0.05) compared with before treatment within each group. The improvement of AROM of ankle dorsiflexion in PAFES group (8.19 ± 3.39) ° and the values in NMES group (8.96 ± 3.68) ° were to a significantly greater extend than control group (3.88 ± 4.10) ° (P <0.05) ; the improvement of FMA and BI in PAFES group was also superior to those in NMES group and control group (P < 0.05).Conclusion The intelligent PAFES therapy could help improve AROM of ankle dorsiflexion, the motor function of the affected lower extremity and the ability of the activities of daily living in stroke patients.
