Objective To study the expression of PTEN,Fas and DCR3 in human gastric cancer and evaluate their effects on carcinogenesis, cell proliferation, invasion and metastasis of gastric carcinoma,as well as clinical significance. Methods The expression of PTEN,Fas and DCR3 were detected by immunohistochemical method (streptavidin-peroxidase) in the tissues of 75 primary gastric carcinomas and 15 gastric ulcers. Results The positive expression rate of DCR3 in gastric carcinoma tissues was significantly higher than that in normal tissues, and the expression of PTEN and Fas was obviously lower than that in normal tissues (P<0.01).The expression of DCR3 was negatively correlated with Fas and PTEN respectively (r=-0.720,P<0.001; r=-0.336,P<0.001).There was a positive correlation between PTEN and Fas.The expression of PTEN,Fas and DCR3 was closely correlated with lymph node metastasis, clinical stage, histological differentiation grade and tumor depth of gastric cancer, but not related to sex,age and tumor size (P>0.05).Conclusion PTEN,DCR3 and Fas have mutual restrictive relationships in the process of invasion and metastasis in gastric cancer.Detecting the expression of PTEN,Fas and DCR3 in gastric cancer is helpful to judge the malignant biological behavior of gastric cancer at a different angle, which may be considered as reliability index in clinic diagnosis, judging curative effect and monitoring the prognosis of gastric carcinoma.

Objective To investigate if the 23 strains of highly-resistant P.aeruginosa isolated from different patients in the in- tensive care unit (ICU) have the same origin;and explore the related mechanisms of carbapenem resistance in these multidrug- resistant P.aeruginosa.MethOds Antimicrobial susceptibility testing was performed using disk-diffusion technique. The strains were genotyped by rep-PCR with the primer ERIC2 followed by electrophoresis in agarose gel.We used a previously described imipenem-EDTA double-disk test for screening MBL-producing P.aeruginosa.Polymerase chain reaction for amplification of blaOprD, blaIMP, and bla VIM were performed to detect corresponding mutants. Results The result of antimicrobial suscepti- bility testing showed that 20 of the 23 P.aeruginosa isolates were muhidrug-resistant and highly resistant to imipenem and meropenem, and at least 5 antimicrobial agents tested in this study. The analysis of the rep-PCR products indicated that all the 19 carbapenem-resistant strains had an identical band pattern, which was different from that seen in the sensitive strains.Al- though imipenem-EDTA double-disk test identified 5 MBL-producing strains, PCR found that all the 23 strains were negative for bla VIM and blaIMP.Only one OprD-deficient mutant was identified. Conclusions The 19 highly-resistant strains of P. aeruginosa derive from a common origin.More researches are needed to clarify their mechanism of carbapenem resistance.

Objective To discuss the expansion model of the eyeball and investigate the morphologic characteristics of high-my- opic eyeball through the dimensional measurement in high-myopia and emmetropia by MRI. Design Case controll study. Participants Thirty-two emmetropes (60 eyes) and 33 high myopes (60 eyes) were enrolled, without eye diseases and history of ocular surgery or in- jury. Methods 60 high-myopic eyes and 60 emmetropic eyes were measured with MRI (I.5T,PHILIPS) to get the data of three inner ocular dimensions, intraocular volume and the volume of different parts. Main Outcome Measures Three dimensions and volumes of eyeballs. Results The average value of axial (28.16?2.80 mm), horizontal (22.87+1.23 mm) and vertical length (23.40?0.99 ram) of high-myopic eyes were much bigger than those of emmetropic eyes(P=0.000), especially the axial length( with difference of 5.38 mm); The axial length was correlated with refractive error (0.36 mm/D,r~2=0.88, P=0.000). The average value of the whole ocular volume (7. 46?0.89 ml) and vitreous volume(6.90?0.8 ml) of the high myopic eyes were bigger than those of emmetropic eyes(P=0.000), while ante- rior segment volume and lens volume were about the same as that of emmetropic eyes (P=0.220, P=0.630). Conclusions The three di- mensions of high-myopic eyes were significantly longer than that of emmetropic eyes. In high myopes, the increased vitreous volume lead to the increase of the whole ocular volume. There may be two models in the ocular expansion of high myopia: global expansion and axial elongation expansion. More serious refractive error cause more obvious expansion in axial elongation.

BACKGROUND:Posterior cervical open-door expansive laminoplasty is one of the simple and effective methods to treat cervical spinal diseases, has satisfactory results but low complications. However, the imbalance of sagittal plan, loss of lordosis or axial pain is often reported recently. OBJECTVE:To analyze the correlation between cervical sagittal alignment and clinical outcomes after laminoplasty. METHODS:Between January 2011 and June 2015, 122 cases of cervical spinal disease, who were treated with open-door expansive laminoplasty with mini-titanium plate, were retrospectively analyzed. Clinical outcomes were evaluated by Japanese Orthopaedic Association, Neck Disability Index and Visual Analogue Scale. Radiographic results were assessed by C2-7 Cobb angle, C2-7 sagittal vertical axis and C7 slope. The correlation between sagittal alignment and clinical outcomes were analyzed. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1) Al patients were fol owed up for 7-32 months. (2) Japanese Orthopaedic Association, Neck Disability Index and Visual Analogue Scale scores were improved in the final fol ow-up (al P<0.001). No significant difference in upper limb Visual Analogue Scale scores was determined (P=0.142). In the final fol ow-up, C2-7 sagittal vertical axis increased (P=0.036), but neither the C2-7 Cobb angle nor the C7 slope significantly changed (P=0.092, P=0.184). (3) There were no correlations between sagittal alignment parameters (C2-7 Cobb angle, C2-7 sagittal vertical axis and C7 slope) and clinical outcomes (Japanese Orthopaedic Association, Neck Disability Index and Visual Analogue Scale) (al P>0.05). (4) These findings indicated that posterior cervical open-door expansive laminoplasty with mini-titanium plate can significantly improve the neurological function of patients. However, there is no correlation between cervical sagittal alignment and clinical outcomes.
