Objective To investigate the clinical therapeutic effect of biological information infrared liver therapeutic appa-ratus(BILT)combined with praziquantel in the treatment of patients with chronic schistosomiasis. Methods A case-control study was conducted. A total of 142 chronic schistosomiasis patients were divided into an experimental group(BILT combined with praziquantel)with 64 cases and a control group(routine treatment with praziquantel alone)with 78 cases on the basis of the age, gender, disease duration and liver function as paired condition. Fatigue, diarrhea, abdominal distension, liver func-tion,hyaluronic acid(HA)and laminin(LN)were as observation indexes and the observation results were compared between two groups. Results Before the treatment, there were no significant differences between the two groups in the indexes above-mentioned(P>0.05). After the treatment, the incidence rates of fatigue, diarrhea, abdominal distension, abnormal liver func-tion,and the levels of HA and LN in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.01). Conclusion BILT combined with praziquantel can significantly alleviate the short-term clinical symptoms, restore liver func-tion and also alleviate hepatic fibrosis of the patients with chronic schistosomiasis.

Objective:To establish and evaluate a rapid nucleic acid detection method for SARS-CoV-2 based on COYOTE ? Flash20 real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR instrument. Methods:A rapid reaction system was constructed by using specific primer and probe sets targeting ORF1ab and N gene of SARS-CoV-2, and the sensitivity and specificity of the system were verified. At the same time, 108 clinical samples of COVID-19 were used to evaluate the application of this method. Results:The detection method did not require nucleic acid extraction, and the manual operation time was only one minute. After the sample was sent to the system, the test could be completed in 30 minutes. The detection limit of this method was 4×10 2 copies/ml. It had no cross-reactivity with other human coronaviruses (including HCoV-229E, HCoV-NL63, HCoV-OC43, HCoV-HKU1, SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV) and other respiratory viruses. The evaluation of clinical sample application showed that the total coincidence rate with the conventional RT-qPCR which required nucleic acid extraction was 98.15%. Conclusions:Through the application evaluation of the rapid fluorescent quantitative PCR method of SARS-CoV-2, it was found that the method was simple, fast, specific and sensitive, and it was suitable for real-time and rapid detection needs in varieties of situations.

Aim To explore changes of gut microbiota in experimental model rats with hyperuricemia-induced mild cognitive impairment. Methods The experimental rats were provided with a diet containing 2% W/W uric acid (UA) and 2% W/W oxonic acid for period ranging from 1 day to 12 weeks. Morris water maze, blood biochemical indexes and other auxiliary models were used to evaluate the experimental animal model. Changes of gut microbiota were studied by 16S rDNA high-throughput sequencing. Results Compared with control group, the amount of UA of rats was significantly elevated. In addition, the rats showed significantly reduced spatial learning and memory in an escape latency and probe trial. The diversity of gut microbiota in model rats changed, and the relative abundances of 14 species of gut microbiota changed markedly. The abundance of Butyrivibrio, Erysipelotrichia, Erysipelotrichales, Erysipelotrichaceae, Erysipelatoclostridium, Lachnoclostridium 5, Anaeroplasmatales, Anaeroplasmataceae and Anaeroplasma in model mice increased, while that of Dorea, RuminococcaceaeUCG_005, Butyricicoccus, Tyzzerella 3 and Parasutterella decreased. Conclusions The continuous increase of UA can regulate gut microbiota, and the imbalance of gut microbiota is closely related to the development of mild cognitive impairment, which may be one of the mechanisms of hyperuricemia-induced mild cognitive impairment.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the follow-up efficacy and safety on slow transit constipation (STC) treated with individualized deep puncture at Tianshu (ST 25).
METHODSOne hundred and twenty-eight cases of STC were randomized into a deep puncture group (64 cases), a western medication group (31 cases) and a shallow puncture group (33 cases) at the ratio of 2:1:1. In the deep puncture group, electroacupuncture of deep puncture was applied to bilateral Tianshu (ST 25). The needle was inserted perpendicularly and slowly at the acupoint and went deeply till penetrating the peritoneum, about 20 to 65 mm in depth. In the western medication group, lactulose oral liquid was prescribed for oral administration. In the shallow puncture group, electroacupuncture of shallow puncture was done at bilateral Tianshu (ST 25). The needle was inserted perpendicularly and slowly, 5 to 8 mm in depth. The treatment lasted 4 weeks in the three groups and the follow-up visit of 12 weeks and 6 month after treatment was performed respectively. The weekly defecation frequency, patient's satisfaction and safety of deep puncture at Tianshu (ST 25) were assessed before and after treatment in each group.
RESULTSIn the deep puncture group, the weekly defecation frequency was (1.79 +/- 1.05) times/week before treatment and was (3.90 +/- 1.43) times/week after 4-week treatment. It was (3.49 +/- 1.46) times/week in 12-week follow-up visit after treatment and was (3.51 +/- 1.42) times/week in 6-month follow-up visit after treatment. In the deep puncture group, the improvements in weekly defecation frequency, patient's satisfaction and short-term efficacy were same as those in the western medication group and the shallow puncture group (all P > 0.05). The long-term efficacy in follow-up visit was better remarkably than that in the western medication group (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). Besides, the combined medication was reduced and no adverse reaction occurred.
CONCLUSIONThe individualized deep puncture at Tianshu (ST 25) is effective in the treatment of STC and achieves the satisfactory long-term efficacy. This therapy displays the good effective advantage and deserves to be promoted in clinical practice of acupuncture and moxibustion therapeutic program as compared with the first-tier line of medication, lactulose oral liquid, recommended at home and abroad, in terms of the evidence-based medicine.

Objective To evaluate the clinical effectiveness of JianpiQinghua decoction in treating stage 3 chronic kidney disease (CKD3) with syndrome type of dampness-heat due to spleen deficiency. Methods A multicenter, randomized, controlled, prospective, double-blind, and double-simulation study was undertaken. A total of 270 CKD3 patients with syndrome type of dampness-heat due to spleen deficiency from the outpatient departments of six general hospitals were randomly divided into telmisartan+analog traditional Chinese medicine (TA) group, traditional Chinese medicine+analog telmisartan (TCMA) group, and telmisartan+traditional Chinese medicine (TTCM) group, in which the corresponding treatment was applied in addition to basic treatment. Six months later, changes in the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) clinical symptom scores and renal functions before and after treatment were compared among these three groups. Results Of these 270 CKD3 patients who had been enrolled in this study, 30 cases lost to follow-up. The baseline data were comparable among these three groups. After treatment, the TCM clinical symptom scores of both syndrome of spleen-qi deficiency and dampness-heat in TA group were significantly higher than those in TCMA group and TTCM group (P<0.001). With the treatment time prolonged, the TCM clinical symptom scores showed similar descending trends in TCMA group and TTCM group but were different from that in TA group. After treatment, abnormal creatinine rate decreased (P=0.003), and these three treatments and their interactions with each visit had no effect on serum urea nitrogen value (P=0.270, P=0.520); with prolonged treatment, the estimated glomerular filtration rates in three groups tended to be relatively stable after the first rise. The liver function and abnormal serum potassium rate were not statistically significant before and after treatment (P>0.05). Conclusions JianpiQinghua decoction can improve clinical symptoms of TCM in CKD3 patients with syndrome type of dampness-heat due to spleen deficiency and thus improve the quality of life and prognosis. The clinical efficacy of JianpiQinghua decoction alone or combined with telmisartan is superior to telmisartan monotherapy.
