Objective To observe the expression of various antibodies on resection specimens with Hirschsprung's disease(HD), and to find out a special antibody to help the diagnosis of HD. Methods Neuron specific enolase(NSE),S100, Cathepsin D (CAD), Peripherin, protein gene prosuct 9. 5(PGP9. 5) were used as the first antibody to do the EnVision immunohistochemical staining on each end of the resection specimens with HD. Results PGP9.5, NSE, Peripherin were positive both in neuroganglion cells and neuro-plexus in the submucosa and intermuscule; S100 was positive in neutoplexus but negative in neuroganglion cells in the submucosa and intermuscule; CAD was positive in neuroganglion but negative in neuroplexus cells in the submucosa and intermuscule. Conclusion Compared with the other antibodies,CAD is a special antibody which may help the diagnosis of HD; CAD staining results is easy to judge, and it is more faster and economic.

With the development of tissue engineering,the bone tissue engineering is developing rapidly. Engineering hone typically uses an artificial extracellular matrix (scaffold),osteoblasts or progenitors,and os- teoinductive factors which promote cell attachment,differentiation,and mineralized bone formation.Highly porous scaffolds play a critical role in cell seeding,proliferation,and new 3D-tissue formation.A variety of biodegradable polymer materials and scaffolding fabrication techniques for engineering bone have been developed over the past decade.This article reviews the scaffold design and fabrication methods tor engineering bone to analyze their ad- vantages and limitations.Various architectural parameters of scaffolds important for bone tissue engineering (e.g. porosity,pore size,interconnectivity) are discussed.

Toxic effects of L7 lyophilized powder of extracellular active components (L7-LPEAC), extracted from the Algae-lysing bacteria L7, on Chlorella pyrenoidosa were studied according to the changes of effective photosynthesis rate (EPR), the protein content, the chlorophyll a content and the MDA content of algae. The results showed that the growth of alga was promoted at low concentrations of L7-LPEAC (0.80 g/L, 1.25 g/L). Objective To evaluate the usage of renoportal anastomosis in the liver transplanta- tion.Method The successful experience about renoportal anastomosis for portal vein reconstruction in liver transplantation was reported,and related literature reviewed.Results Including our case,there have been 13 cases of liver transplantation using renoportal anastomosis for portal vein reconstruction. Among these patients,8 cases were complicated with diffuse portal vein thrombosis,and 10 cases had a splenorenal shunt(spontaneous shunt in 3 and surgical shunt in 7).Complications related to portal vein hypertension occurred in 3 cases(transient ascites in 2 cases and severe digestive bleeding in 1 case)after liver transplantation.There were 3 deaths which were not related to renoportal anastomo- sis.Conclusion Renoportal anastomosis is a safe and feasible technique in liver transplantation for the patients with diffuse portal vein thrombosis or with splenorenal shunt(spontaneous or surgical shunt).

Background The main mechanism of diabetic retinopathy (DR) is the formation of retinal neovascularization. Vascular endothelial growth factors (VEGF) is primarily factor for DR. Objective The goal of this study was to investigate the effects of angelicae sinensis decoction for supplementing blood ( ASD), a kind of traditional prescription of Chinese herbal medicine, on vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) level in vitreous and serum of STZ-induced type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods Thirty-four SPF male SD rats were fed using high fat diet for 8 weeks and then the streptozocin of 25 mg/kg was intraperitoneally injected to create the type 2 diabetic models. ASD (3.6 g/kg) and 10 mg/kg Gli of 5 mi were administered intragastrically from the 4th day of high fat die though 8 weeks respectively. Other 10 matched rats were used as normal control group. The body weight, blood glucose level ,triglycerides (TG) and high density lipoprotein (HDL) were detected in 4 and 8 weeks after usage of drug. The vitreous and serum samples were obtained in the 8 th weeks for the VEGF detection by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). This experiment comlied with the Regulations for the Administration of Affair Concerning Experimental Animals by State Science and Technology Commission. Results The body weight and HDL in DM group were significantly lower than those of normal control group in 4 or 8 weeks ( P＜0. 01 ), but in ASD and Gli groups ,the body weight and HDL were higher than those of the DM group (P＜0. 05 ). the blood glucose level and TG were elevated in DM group compared with normal control group (P＜0. 01 ), but those in ASD group and Gli group were decreased in comparison with DM group ( P＜0.05 ). EIISA revealed that no significant differences were found in VEGF levels between normal control group and ASD group or Gli group (P＞0. 05 ), but in DM group, the serum VEGF level (147.65±4. 55 ng/L) was reduced and vitreous VEGF level (673.45± 100. 85 ng/L) was raised,showing the considerable differences (P＜ 0.05 ). No any correlation was found between serum VEGF level and vitreous VEGF level (r=0.314,P＞0. 05). Conclusion ASD can decrease the VEGF level in vitreous,implying that ASD postpone the occurrence of diabetic retinopathy in DM rat.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the effect of Shexiang Baoxin Pill (SBP) on coronary vasodilation by analysis of coronary angiography (CAG).

METHODSA consecutive cohort of 300 patients who underwent CAG between January 2013 and July 2013 were recruited and randomly assigned to 2 groups before operation. Patients in the SBP group sublingually took SBP, while those in the control group sublingually took placebos. All patients repeatedly underwent CAG 5 min after administration. The vascular diameter was calculated by quantitative angiography analysis method. The diameter of the left anterior descending coronary artery was measured in patients whose coronary arteries had no stenosis. The narrowest vascular diameter was measured in patients whose coronary arteries had stenosis. The heart rate, blood pressure, and the vascular diameter were compared between before and after administration in the two groups.

RESULTSIn the two groups, there was no significant difference in changes of heart rate, systolic pressure, or diastolic pressure between before and after administration (all P > 0.05). There were 64 patients with normal CAG in the two groups, 30 in the control group and 34 in the SBP group. CAG showed there were 236 patients with stenotic coronary artery, 110 in the control group and 126 in the SBP group. The vascular diameter was obviously larger in patients in the SBP group with normal or abnormal CAG after administration (all P < 0.01). It was also obviously larger than that of the control group after administration (P < 0.05, P < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONSBP could dilate both normal coronary artery and lesioned coronary arteries, but did not lead to fastened heart rate and decreased blood pressure.
