Objective To investigate the optimum target plasma concentration of propofol in preventing the adverse effects of carboprost tromethamine in the patients undergoing caesarean section. Methods One hundred and twenty-eight nulliparous parturients who were at full term with a singleton fetus,of American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status Ⅰ or Ⅱ,aged 24-37 yr,weighing 54-78kg,scheduled for elective caesarean section under combined spinal-epidural anesthesia, were randomly divided into 4 groups (n =32 each) using a random number table:control group (group C),and different concentrations of propofol groups (P1-3 groups).Carboprost tromethamine 250 μg was injected into the body of the uterus, and propofol with the target plasma concentrations of 0.8,1.2 and 1.6 μg/ml was simultaneously given by target-controlled infusion in P1,P2 and P3 groups, respectively, and normal saline was infused at a rate of 0.5 ml · kg-1 · h-1 in group C.The occurrence of cardiovascular events was recorded from the end of carboprost tromethamine administration until the end of surgery. The relatedadverse effects after carboprost tromethamine administration, and Ramsay sedation score at 15 mm after carboprost tromethamine administration were recorded, and satisfactory sedation was defined as Ramsay sedation score of 2.The occurrence of complications associated with combined spinal-epidural anesthesia was recorded during the postoperative follow-up.Results Compared with group C,the incidence of carboprost tromethamine-related adverse effects was significantly decreased in P2 and P3 groups, the rate of satisfactory sedation was significantly increased in P1 and P2 groups, the incidence of hypotension and tachycardia was significantly decreased in group P1 (P<0.05),and no significant change was found in the incidence of carboprost tromethamine-related adv erse effects in group P1,and in the rate of satisfactory sedation in group P3 (P> 0.05).Compared with group P1,the incidence of carboprost tromethaminerelated adverse effects was significantly decreased in P2 and P3 groups, the rate of satisfactory sedation was significantly increased in group P2,and the rate of satisfactory sedation was significantly decreased in group P3 (P<0.05).Compared with group P2,the rate of satisfactory sedation was significantly decreased (P<0.05),and no significant change was found in the incidence of carboprost tromethamine-related adverse effects in group P3 (P>0.05).No cardiovascular events were found in group P2,and the incidence of hypotension was 9% in group P3.Conclusion The optimum target plasma concentration of propofol in preventing the adverse effects of carboprost tromethamine is 1.2 μg/ml in the patients undergoing caesarean section.

Hide melting presents itself as one of the most critical processes in the production of donkey-hide gelatin. Here a NIR-based method was established for the rapid analysis of in-process hide melting solutions as well as for end-point determination of this process. Near infrared (NIR) spectra of hide melting solutions were collected in transflective mode. With the contents of total nitrogen determined by the Kjeldahl method as reference values, partial least squares regression (PLSR) was employed to build calibration models between NIR spectra and total nitrogen. Model parameters including wavelength range and PLS factors were optimized to achieve best model performance. Based on the contents of total nitrogen predicted by calibration model, end point of hide melting was determined. The constructed PLS model gave a high correlation coefficient (R2) of 0.991 3 and a root mean square error of prediction (RMSEP) of 0.807 g x L(-1). With the predicted total nitrogen and predefined limit, decisions concerning the proper times of melting were made. This research demonstrated that NIR transflectance spectroscopy could be used to expeditiously determine the contents of total nitrogen which was subsequently chosen as the indictor for determining the end-point of hide melting. The proposed procedure may help avoid unnecessary raw material or energy consumption.

Xiatianwu tablet is based on the theory of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), combined with modern TCM pharmacology and selected 33 famous traditional Chinese crude drugs to compose. Its recipe helps cure rheumatism, relax tendons, promote blood circulation to relieve pain, et al. Although Xiatianwu tablets are widely applied to clinical remedy such as rheumatic arthritis, lumbar disc hernia, osteoarthritis and so on, there is no report about its application in fracture. This article is to observe the efficacy of compound Xiatianwu tablets in elderly patients with osteoporotic distal radius fractures and its impact on the wrist function and complications. 180 elderly patients with osteoporotic distal radius fractures, from January 2011 to June 2014, were divided into observation group and control group by the method of random number table, each group had 90 cases. The control group were gave Caltrate D after manipulative reduction and plaster immobilization, observation group were treated with compound Xiatianwu tablets in the basis of the control group. Efficacy, wrist function and complication rates were observed in two groups after treatment. The excellent and good rate was 95.56% in observation group better than 77.78% in control group, the difference was statistically significant (χ2 = 4.712, P < 0.05). The complication rate in observation group was significantly lower compared with the control group (P < 0.05). This study shows that compound Xiatianwu tablets can improve the efficacy in elderly patients with osteoporotic distal radius fractures, reduce the incidence of complications and relieve the pain of patients which plays a significant role in improving the quality of life.

Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2006;26(9):788-790
OBJECTIVETo observe the antiviral efficacy of Ganneng Dripping Pill (GDP) in treating patients with chronic hepatitis B.
METHODSEighty-four patients of chronic hepatitis B with positive HBV-DNA, HBsAg, and HBeAg were randomly assigned to 2 groups, the treated group (56 patients) treated with GDP and the control group (28 patients) treated with lamivudine. The therapeutic course for both groups was 6 months. The negative conversion rate of HBeAg and HBV-DNA, changes of liver function, symptoms and physical signs in patients were observed before and after treatment.
RESULTSIn the treated group, the negative conversion rate of HBV-DNA and HBeAg was 54.0% (27/50) and 30.0% (15/50) respectively, and the ALT normalizing rate was 80.0% (40/50), while those were 67.86% (19/28), 21.8% (6/28) and 75.0% (21/28) respectively in the control group, showing no significant difference between the two groups (all P > 0.05). However, the AST normalizing rate was 97.96% (48/49) in the treated group, higher than that in the control group (48.0%, 12/25, P < 0.01); and the clinical symptoms, especially the poor appetite, lassitude, gastric distention and yellow urine, were improved more significantly in the treated group than those in the control group (P <0.05 or P < 0.01).
CONCLUSIONGDP has a favorable short-term effect on chronic hepatitis B, it could effectively inhibit HBV replication and improve the liver function, symptoms and signs in patients.
