Journal of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Medical Sciences) 2008;28(4):383-5
In this study, by analysis of genome structures of E. coli, the relationships between the genomic types of E. coli and the associated diseases were investigated. Samples of sputum, urine and other excretions from patients with different infective diseases were collected. And 62 E. coli strains were isolated from these samples. Intact bacterial genomic DNA was cleaved with I-CeuI, separated by pulsed field gel electrophoresis and then typed on the basis of cleavage map. The results showed that 7 I-CeuI sites were found in all the genome structures of the 62 E. coli, indicating that there were 7 rrn operons in the genomes. The size of genome ranged from 4500 kb to 5000 kb. According to the genome structures, 62 E. coli strains were divided into 30 genome types. It was concluded that genome structures of E. coli isolated from the patients with different infective diseases varied to some extent, suggesting that some genome types of E. coli were closely related to some infective diseases.

Objective To report the treatment of intracranial fusiform or wide-necked aneurysms with combined endovascular stenting and Guglielmi detachable coils packing, and to evaluate its indication, technique, outcome, and complications. Methods The coronary stents were implanted across the necks of 5 fusiform aneurysms and 12 wide-necked aneurysms. Microcatheters were introduced into the aneurysmal sac through stent mesh, and GDCs were used to embolize the aneurysms. Results The stents were deployed in 16 cases, and total occlusion was obtained in 13 cases, while more than 90% in 3 cases. One aneurysm was embolized with GDCs alone after the attempt of stenting was failed. All the patients recovered well with patency of the parent arteries. Conclusion Endovascular therapy combined with stent implantation and microcoil placement may be a valid alteration for the treatment of intracranial fusiform or wide-necked aneurysms. Further study was necessary for long-term outcome.

Journal of Interventional Radiology 1994;0(04):-
Objective To summarize the technique and efficiency of combined endovascular stenting and Guglielmi detachable coils (GDC) packing for the treatment of intracranial wide-necked bifurcation aneurysms and recanalized aneurysms. Methods The coronary stents were implanted across the necks of 5 intracranial wide-necked aneurysms (two at bifurcation of ICA, one at basilar artery and two recanalized PcoA aneurysms). The porous stents covered the ostia of vital side branches and perforating vessels in three cases. Microcatheters were introduced into the aneurysmal sac through the stent mesh and then followed by GDCs embolizing the aneurysms. Results The stents were deployed in parent artery in all cases. Total occlusion was obtained in 4 cases, while more than 90% in one case with patency of the parent arteries and vital perforating arteries. Follow-up angiography performed in all patients 3-6 months later revealed no intra-stent stenosis. All the patients recovered well except Ⅲ nerve palsy in one patient which diminished 3 months later. Conclusion Endovaseular therapy combined stent implantation and microcoil placement maybe a valid alteration for the treatment of wide-necked bifurcation aneurysms and recanalized aneurysms, which shows promise clinical application in the future. The ostia of vital side branches covered with stents showed no effect on hemodynamics.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(39):6302-6308
BACKGROUND: Unstable cases of Hangman’s fracture or traumatic spondylilisthesis which are type II, IIa and III should be treated surgicaly. Retropharyngeal approach was employed in exposure of anterior upper cervical region. However, dissection and traction around important structures make the procedure complicated and increase the chance of nerve injury.
OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the clinical curative effect and safety of an innovative operative technique in which a polyetheretherketone cage was used to perform cervical spinal fusion for the treatment of Hangman’s fracture.
METHODS: Eight patients with type II or IIa Hangman’s fracture were enroled in this study and received cervical fusions at C2/3 levels. During folow-up postoperatively, they received X-ray examination. Fusion time and implant position were evaluated. The angle of deformity (α) and the displacement distance (β) were compared pre-operatively and 6-month post-operatively to measure reduction. The functional outcomes were also compared using the Post-Traumatic Neck Score (Mayo) pre-operatively and 6-month post-operatively, while neck pain was further investigated by Visual Analogue Scale score.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Al eight patients were folowed-up successfuly, with an average folow-up of 13 months (range 6-26 months). Compared with pre-operatively, Clinical Post-Traumatic Neck Score (Mayo) was increased, Visual Analogue Scale score, angle deformity (α) and displacement distance (β) were reduced at 6-month post-operatively (P < 0.05). Neck activity was not limited in final folow-up. Bone fusion was found in al patients at 3 or 6 months post-operatively, and no complication was detected. Results confirm that polyetheretherketone cage for type II and IIa Hangman’s fracture could achieve good outcomes and safety.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2015;(12):1402-1410
Objective To analyze the data of concentric (c) and eccentric (e) peak torque of hamstring (H) and quadricep (Q) in differ-ent gender and angle after 4-week concentric and eccentric isokinetic exercise training on knee, in order to provide suggestions for the knee extensor and flexor in rehabilitation exercise prescription. Methods 28 healthy college students from May to June 2014 in our college partic-ipated in maximum concentric (n=14) or eccentric (n=14) resistance training of the right knee extensors and flexors 3 times per week for 4 weeks. The concentric strength was measured with BIODEX isokinetic dynamometer assessment system 4 at 30 °/s, 60 °/s, 90 °/s, and ec-centric strength was measured at 60 °/s, 120 °/s, 180 °/s. PT, H/Q (He/Qc, Hc/Qc) ratio and H/H (He/Hc) or Q/Q(Qe/Qc) ratio were ana-lyzed. Results Concentric isokinetic training could improve the Hc and He at 60 °/s and 90 °/s (P<0.05), and the Qe and Qc increased at 30 °/s, 60 °/s, 90 °/s respectively (P<0.01). There was no significant improvement after eccentric training (P>0.05). After concentric isokinet-ic training, the He/Qc ratio decreased at 90 °/s (P<0.05), the Hc/Qc ratio decreased at 30 °/s (P<0.05). However, there was no difference in He/Qc and Hc/Qc after eccentric contraction (P>0.05). The Qc/Qe ratio increased at 60 °/s and 90 °/s (P<0.05), and the Hc/He ratio de-creased at 90 °/s (P<0.05) after concentric training. There was no difference in Hc/He and Qc/Qe after eccentric contraction (P>0.05). There were significant differences in Hc, He, Qc, Qe and He/Qc ratio between different genders (P<0.05). Conclusion Concentric training and ec-centric training have different influences on the muscle strength after 4 weeks training. Eccentric training only can reduce the knee stability. Hc/He ratio and Qc/Qe ratio can be used to evaluate the knee muscle function. Gender should be considered into training.
