AlM: To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of capsular tension ring ( CTR) combined with iris hooks in eyes with large traumatic zonular dialysis or weakness that underwent micro -incision coaxial phacoemulsification with posterior chamber ( PC ) intraocular lens ( lOL) implantation.METHODS: This prospective study was carried on 21 patients ( 21 eyes ) with traumatic cataract and traumaticzonular dialysis (<180 degrees determined pre-or intra-operatively ) in our hospital from January 2011 to September 2014. After CCC, 1-4 iris hooks might be used probably and a in-the-bag CTR was inserted in order to maintain or re-establish an extended capsular diaphragm before or at any time during cataract removal. Then micro-incision coaxial phacoemulsification with foldable acrylic PC lOL implantation was performed. Zonular dialysis range, posterior capsule rupture, vitreous loss, pupil size, best corrected visual acuity ( BCVA ) , intraocular pressure ( lOP ) in the pre- and post-operative periods and postoperative lOL decentration were observed after operation.RESULTS: The mean follow-up period was 3 ~12mo. No serious postoperative complication was found. BCVA in our cases: <0. 3 in 1 eye, 0. 4~0. 7 in 15 eyes ,>0. 8 in 5 eyes. lOPs were in normal range too. The lOLs in 20 eyes remained the required position to the final follow- up examination except one eye in which the PC lOL was dislocated into vitreous cavity due to a postoperative spontaneity PCR, and in which vitrectomy and lOL suture fixation was performed.CONCLUSlON: ln cases of cataract associated with traumatic zonular dialysis (<180.) , by setting the rational parameters of phacoemulsification, the CTR and iris hooks are found to be efficient in preventing lOL decentration and reducing operation complication. ln our cases, the CTR combined with iris hooks is relatively safe application.

Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2006;27(3):303-310
Tuberculosis (TB) is a global burden disease and is being resurrected as a major worldwide public health problem after two decades of neglect. In 1993,the World Health Organization (WHO) declared that TB had been a global emergency because of the scale of the epidemic and the urgent need to improve global tuberculosis control.China is one of the countries with the largest population, and also the top of the 22 TB high-burden countries in the world. In the United States, the longstanding downward trend in TB incidence was interrupted in the mid-to-late 1980s,where the national TB incidence peaked in 1992.Sub-Saharan Africa is one of the three regions to dominate the worldwide distribution of notified TB cases.Of the 15 countries with the highest estimated tuberculosis incidence rates in the world,13 are in sub-Saharan Africa, where HIV is the most important single predictor of tuberculosis incidence. The largest share of the global burden of HIV-related tuberculosis falls on this region. The reasons for the persisting global tuberculosis burden include increased poverty in some regions, immigration from countries with high tuberculosis prevalence, the impact of HIV,and most importantly, the failure to maintain the necessary public health infrastructure under the mistaken belief that tuberculosis was a problem of the past.Relying on currently available methods of diagnosis and treatment, the DOT strategy promoted by the WHO for global tuberculosis control is effective, affordable, and adaptable in different settings.

Aim To detect the effects of cetuximab combined with adriamycin on the proliferation and ap-optosis of triple-negative breast cancer cells. Methods Cell viability was evaluated by MTT assay. The cell apoptosis was analyzed by flow cytometry with propidi-um iodide staining.JC-1 staining was used to deter-mine mitochondrial membrane potential. The expres-sions of glucose regulated protein78 (GRP-78),Bcl-2 and Caspase-3 were measured with Western blot.Re-sults MTT assay showed that cetuximab had inhibi-tion effect on the breast cancer cell MDA-MB-231 growth, and the effect was related to concentration of drug. The inhibition effect of adriamycin on MDA-MB-231 had remarkabe relationship with time and concen-tration.When combined with each other, they could re-markably increase inhibition effect. The viability of cells in combination group for 1 2 h,24 h,48 h,sig-nificantly lower than that in cetuximab or adriamycin group (P <0.05 or P <0.01 ).Apoptosis results showed that cell apoptosis was significantly increased when cetuximab combined with adriamycin, reached (43.93 ±3.59)% for 24 h,had remarkably statistical significance compared to cetuximab or adriamycin
group (P <0.01 ).JC-1 staining indicated that cetux-imab or adriamycin could reduce the mitochondrial membrane potential, but the reduction effect was more remarkable in the combination group.Western blot re-vealed that cetuximab could reduce the expression of GRP-78 and Bcl-2,and increased the expression of Caspase-3 and its activity. The expressions of Bcl-2, Caspase-3 had no significant change in adriamycin group, but GRP-78 was increased. In combination group, the expression of GRP-78 and Bcl-2 was signifi-cantly decreased, but Caspase-3 was increased nota-blely compared to adriamycin group. Conclusions The combination of cetuximab and adriamycin enhances the inhibition effect on the triple-negative breast cancer MDA-MB-231 cells, and increases cell apoptosis. The mechanism may be that cetuximab reduces the endo-plasmic reticulum stress level, then activates the mito-chondrial pathways by decreasing the expression of Bcl-2,reducing the mitochondrial membrane potential, and promoting cell apoptosis.

Chinese Journal of Virology 2014;30(3):303-309
Rotaviruses, which are recognized as one of the major etiological agents among infants and young children with diarrhea, consist of three concentric layers of protein capsid with the enclosed double-stranded RNA genome. Rotaviruses infect host cells mainly by identifying the specific receptors on cell surfaces and binding to them. Therefore, receptors are important factors for viruses infecting cells. So far, there have been many receptors found to be involved in rotavirus infection, including sialic acid, integrin, Toll-like receptor, and blood group antigen. This article provides an overview of receptors involved in rotavirus infection.

Chinese Journal of Radiation Oncology 2016;25(7):764-769
Objective To investigate the radiobiological effects of radiation with different dose rates on human nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell line CNE-2 treated with or without a poly ADP-ribose polymerase (PARP) inhibitor, olaparib. Methods The concentration of olaparib used to treat cells equaled to the inhibition concentration IC10 of olaparib to CNE-2 cells. The CNE-2 cells were divided into acute radiotherapy (RT) group, fractionated radiotherapy (FRT) group, olaparib + RT group, and olaparib + FRT group. All groups were exposed to radiation of 0,1,2,3,5,7,and 10 Gy at a dose rate of 3 Gy/min.The delivery time for each dose point was 4 min in RT and 30 min in FRT.The colony forming assay was used to evaluate the survival of CNE-2 cells at each dose point. The multi-target,single-hit model was used to fit the cell survival curves and the parameters,D0,Dq,and SF2,were calculated. At dose points of 0.1,and 2 Gy,western blot was used to determine the expression of PARP-1 in the RT group and the FRT group and γH2AX in each group.Immunofluorescence was used to evaluate the γH2AX focus formation.A single factor analysis of variance was used to compare the 4 groups, and two two compared with SNK-q test. Results The IC10 value of olaparib to CNE-2 cells was 4.0 μmoL/L.At dose points of 1 and 2 Gy,the PARP-1 expression was significantly higher in the FRT group than in the RT group (P=0.029,0.022),while the γH2AX focus number was significantly smaller in the FRT group than in the other three groups (all P<0.05);compared with the RT group, the D0,Dq,and SF2 values in the FRT group were increased by 11.67%,15.78%,and 23.61%,respectively;compared with the FRT group, the D0,Dq,and SF2 values in the Olaparib+ FRT group decreased by 11.19%,6.44%,and 13.26%,respectively;there were no significant differences in above indices between the RT group, the Olaparib+RT group, and the Olaparib+FRT group. Conclusions For the same radiation dose, fractionation reduces the relative dose rate and weakens the radiobiological effects.lowdose olaparib can compromise the single strand break repair induced by the decline of the relative dose rate in a fractionated irradiation mode, which promotes the formation of double-strand break and improves the radiobiological effects.
