Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2004;10(9):529-531
ObjectiveTo study the effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy on the cholinergic neurons of hippocampus and praxiology of vascular dementia rats.MethodsThe vascular dementia models were made and divided into control and therapy group. After 30 days of HBO therapy, abilities of learning and memory of rats were tested by using the Morris water maze. Immunochemistry staining was used to observe the number of cholinergic neurons of CA1 subfield of hippocampus. ResultsAbilities of learning and memory of rats and the number of the neurons positive to ChAT like immunoreaction in the CA1 subfield of the hippocampus significantly increased in therapy group.ConclusionHyperbaric oxygen therapy is effective on the vascular dementia model rats.

Objective To evaluate the clinical features, therapies and prognosis in patients with mucosa-assoeiated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma in ocular adnexal marginal zone (OAML).Methods A retrospective analysis was made upon clinical data from 21 patients with OAML admitted into Beijing Tongren Hospital from June,2008 to December,2011.Results There were 12 (57.1 %) men and 9(42.9%) women, with a median age of 57 (23-79) years old.Majority of patients had localized pathological changes.Among them,16 patients (76.2%) were in stage Ⅰ E,and 5 (23.8%) in stage Ⅳ E.Surgical resection as the sole treatment was performed in 13 patients (61.9%),and positron emission tomography CT(PET-CT) imaging demonstrated normal fluorine 18-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) uptake after surgical resection, who were managed with no further therapy. All the 13 patients were followed up for median 14 (5-38) months, and all in complete remission.Combination chemotherapy was given to 8(38.1%) patients.Three patients in stage Ⅰ E treated with COP (cyclophosphamide, vineristine and prednisone) or CHOP (cyclophosphamide, adriamycin, vincristine and prednisone) were all in partial remission.Five patients in stage ⅣE were treated with COP/CHOP in combination with rituximab, and all in complete remission. The 3-year overall survival rate and disease-free survival rate in the total patients were 100.0% and 74.9% respectively. Conclusions The patients with OAML generally have localized disease, show indolent clinical course, and present low lymphoma-related mortality.Surgical resection is a very important treatment in the patients with local disease.Systemic chemotherapy should be considered in patients at advanced stages.Rituximab in combination with chemotherapy can improve the remission rate.

Objective To evaluate early and mid-term results in infants, weighing less than 2 500 g,who underwent early cardiac surgery on cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB).Method Since November 2003 to December 2007,28 consecutive infants of less than 2 500 g underwent early cardiac surgery on CPB in Children's Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University.Sixteen infants were male, and 12 infants were female. The mean pregnancy period was 34 weeks (30 to 41 weeks) ,and 14 patients were premature, and the mean birth weight was 2 010 g(1 370-2 500 g).Mean age at operation was 27.46 d (range 1~61 d),and mean weight was 2 391 g (range 1 500~2 500 g).Deep hypothermia circulatory arrest was used in 9.Indications for surgery were:ventricular septal defect (10 infants),transposition of great arteries (6 iofants),totally anomalous pulmonary venom return (5 infants),pulmonary atresia with intact ventricular septum(2 infants),coarctation of aorta (1 infants) ,interrupted aortic arch (1 infants),cortriatriatum(1 infants),abnormal original of fight pulmonary artery (1 infants).Resuits Two (7.14%) infants died after operation at early phase.Mean duration of mechanical ventilation and intensive care unit stay were 113.9 h and 14.4 d,respectively.During follow-up (mean 16.87 months),one died. Two patients needed reintervention.About 84.4% infants didn' t need reintervention at the end of 12-month followup. Conclusions If medicine is aseless, infants woth low birth weight and congenital heart defect can obtain satisfactory outcome after CPB.Perioperative proration for virtual organs should be payed attention to.

West China Journal of Stomatology 2014;32(6):588-591
OBJECTIVEThis study aims to observe and compare the influences of the casting alloy post and cores on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
METHODSSix casting alloy post and sores were fabricated for the experimental groups, and zirconia post and core served as the control. The seven types of post and cores were of the same size and shape. Each post and core was orally fastened to a volunteer and then imaged with sequences of T1-weighted spin echo imaging (SE-T1WI), T2-weighted turbo spin-echo imaging (TSE-T2WI), and diffusion weighted imaging (DWI).
RESULTSCobalt chromium alloy post and core generated severe artifacts, whereas gold palladium alloy post and core generated no obvious artifacts, and no difference was observed between the zirconia and the gold palladium alloy post and cores (P > 0.05). The pure titanium alloy post and core produced mild artifacts. The post and cores of the titanium, nickel-cadmium, and gold platinum alloys generated moderate artifacts with no significant differences (P > 0.05).
CONCLUSIONDifferent metal post and cores have different influences on MRI. With the exception of that generated by cobalt chromium alloy, the artifact generated by the single-alloy post and core does not influence the image of the normal head and neck.

OBJECTIVE:To analyze the volatile components in Descurainia sophia and Lepidium apetalum and compare its dif-ferences. METHODS:HS-SPME was conducted for extracting volatile components in D. sophia and L. apetalum,GC-MS was used for detecting components, and area normalization method was adopted for calculating relative content of each component. RE-SULTS:The volatile components in D. sophia and L. apetalum were 25 and 18,accounting for 75.76% and 64.29% of total vola-tile components, respectively, and chemical components with the highest contents were β-caryophyllene and O-tolunitrile. CON-CLUSIONS:The method is simple, reliable, and can be used for the analysis of volatile components in D. sophia and L. apetalum. The volatile components show great differences in the kinds and contents, the study can provide basis for rapid identification of D. sophia and L. apetalum.

Journal of Practical Stomatology 2014;(4):460-463
Objective:To observe the influence of commonly used dental cast metal posts and cores on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)for head and neck. Methods:Six kinds of posts and cores made of metal alloy (Ni-Cr alloy,Co-Cr alloy, titanium alloy, pure titanium,Pd-Au alloy and Au-Pt alloy)were respectively fixed on the mucosa of left palate of a volunteer. The maxillofacial region of the subjects was scanned by routine head sequences SE-T1WI and TSE-T2WI respectively. Results:ANOVA of factorial design analy-sis indicated significant differences of artifacts among metal materials(F=153.63,P<0.05),scanning sequences(F=70.94,P<0.05)and the number of cast posts and cores(F=102.73,P<0.05).In both sequences the size of metal artifacts were as following:Pd -Au alloy>Co-Cr alloy>Ni-Cr alloy>Au-Pt alloy>titanium alloy>pure titanium;two posts and cores>one post and core;SE-T1WI>TSE-T2WI.Conclusion:Different cast metal posts and cores have different influences on MRI artifact.Reasonably choosing the metal materials and scanning sequences can minimize artifacts on MRI.
