2.Effect of different respiratory mask pressure on upper airway volume
Chinese Archives of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery 2006;0(08):-
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of different respiratory mask pressure on the upper airway volume(UAV),and to compare the changes of UAV between patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS)and normal adults. METHODS Thirty three patients with OSAHS and thirty normal adults were included in this study.CT scan evaluated the UAV from roof of nasopharynx to glottis.UAV under different respiratory mask pressure between patients with OSAHS and normal adults were compared.RESULTS Patients with OSAHS had less UAV,and changes of UAV per cmH_2O were significantly smaller in patients with OSAHS than normal adults.CONCLUSION The results suggest that the quantitative data of UAV and changes of UAV per cmH_2O can be obtained.Upper airway anatomic narrowing and reduced airway distensible degree are major etiological factors for OSAHS.
3.Distribution of nitric oxide synthase positive neurons in spinal cord of rats with cirrhosis
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2005;9(37):178-179
BACKGROUND: Cirrhosis can cause severe effect on spinal cord or other tissue and organ sometimes.OBJECTIVE: To establish cirrhosis model with rat liver injured by tetrachloride so as to investigate the distribution of nitric oxide synthase (NOS)in spinal cord of rats with cirrhosis.DESIGN: Completely randomized controlled study.SETTING: Anatomy Department of Capital University of Medical Sciences.MATERIALS: The experiment was completed at the Anatomy Department of Capital University of Medical Sciences from March 2002 to December 2003. Totally 20 male Wistar rats were divided randomly into cirrhosis group and normal group with 10 in each group.METHODS: Cirrhosis model in cirrhosis group was established with rat liver injured by tetrachloride, but rats in normal group were not treated with any method. After 3 months, total rats in the two groups were perfused and fixed; meanwhile, tissue of spinal cord was taken out for section.Quantity and gray degree of NOS positive cell in spinal cord of rats with cirrhosis were measured with nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide hydrogen phosphate-diaphorase (NADHP-d) histochemical method and Leica Q500IW image analysis system.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: [1] Gray degree of NOS positive neurons of rats in the two groups; [2] Distribution of NOS positive cell of rats in the two groups.RESULTS: Twenty rats all entered the final analysis. [1] Gray degree of NOS positive neurons of rats in the two groups was 60 (P > 0.05). [2] In the area of gray matter of spinal cord, NOS positive cells were mainly distributed over the circumference of central canal, i.e. the Ⅹ layer of spinal cord and intermediolateral nucleus. Color of NADHP-d was positive, and the cellular form was shaped in triangle and fusiform. Cellular nucleus was not colored but color of cytoplasm was deep. The size of cells was moderate mainly of 25 μm. NOS positive cells were generally distributed averagely over intermediate zone of gray matter in cervical, thoracic and lumbar spinal cord and had no specific changes.CONCLUSION: Expression of NOS in spinal cord of rats in the cirrhosis group and the normal group is probably identical. Distributive characteristics of nitrogen monoxide (NO) in spinal cord suggest that adjustment on low sympathetic nerve of rats with cirrhosis is not different from that of the normal.
4.The Study Paradigm of Executive Function on Memory Updating
Chinese Medical Ethics 1995;0(02):-
Executive function is an important advanced cognitive process, and it is the function that integrates different cognitive processes to achieve one's aim. Updating is an important component of executive function. According to the classifications of Miyake & Colletee on executive function, two study paradigms on memory updating are discussed: n-back paradigm & running memory paradigm. A new study method called latent variable analysis and new studies of cognitive neuroscience on memory updating are introduced. Issues on ethics and morality in research on cognitive experiment of psychology are briefly demonstrated to explore appropriate direction for research of executive function in future.

6.Clinical study of blood pressure variability in aged patients with H type hypertension
Chinese Journal of cardiovascular Rehabilitation Medicine 2017;26(3):254-258
Objective: To explore characteristics and influencing factors for blood pressure variability (BPV) in aged patients with H type hypertension. Methods: A total of 100 patients with essential hypertension, who were treated in our hospital from Dec 2012 to Dec 2013, were selected.According to serum level of homocysteine (Hcy), patients were divided into pure hypertension group (n=42, Hcy<15.4 μmol/L) and H type hypertension group (n=58, Hcy≥15.4 μmol/L).All patients received 24h ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (24hABPM), and BPV indexes were recorded and compared between two groups.Correlation among BPV indexes and general data were analyzed, and multi-factor linear regression analysis was used to analyze influencing factors for BPV indexes. Results: Compared with pure hypertension group, there were significant rise in 24h systolic blood pressure standard deviation [24hSSD, (12.80±2.23) vs.(16.01±3.11)], daytime SSD [dSSD, (11.58±2.30) vs.(13.86±2.26)] and nighttime SSD [nSSD, (9.41±1.64) vs.(11.71±2.34)] in H type hypertension group, P<0.05 or <0.01.Pearson correlation analysis indicated that Hcy, total cholesterol (TC) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) were significantly positively correlated with 24SSD, dSSD and nSSD (r=0.201~0.508, P<0.05 or <0.01).Multivariate linear regression analysis indicated that Hcy and TC were significantly positively correlated with 24SSD, dSSD and nSSD (B=0.194~0.546, P<0.05 or <0.01).Conclusion: Systolic blood pressure variability in aged patients with H type hypertension is significantly higher than that of patients with pure hypertension, their serum Hcy level, TC elevating level are significantly positively correlated with systolic blood pressure variability and are major influencing factors for BPV in these patients.
7.Possible mechanism and significance of rare p53 mutation in Epstein-Barr virus-associated gastric cancer
Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2017;44(11):522-526
In 2014, The Cancer Genome Atlas firstly classified gastric cancer into four types according to genotype. Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) positive gastric cancer or EBV-associated gastric cancer (EBVaGC) is attracting attention because it is a possibly suitable group for immunotherapy. Among the mutations observed in tumors, such as gastric cancer, p53 mutations are the most frequent. In particular, it occurs more frequently in EBVaGC than in EBV-negative gastric cancer (EBVnGC). Meanwhile, EBV infection is considered as an early event of tumorigenesis. The interactions between wild-type p53 proteins and BZLF1 (Z) proteins are essential in maintaining the latent state of EBV infection and promoting early replication. In the latter stages of replication, wild-type p53 proteins are degraded through the ubiquitination of some viral molecules. These findings may indicate the importance of wild-type p53 genes in EBVaGC formation. Inflammatory responses induced by EBV infection, tumor with a large number of lymphocyte infiltration, genome high mutation, and PD-L1 amplification make it possible to become the appropriate group of immunotherapy, which also illustrate that the important role of immune microenvironment during tumor progression. In EBVnGC, extremely high levels of p53 mutation were observed because of several associated factors, and the p53 protein encoded by the mutant p53 gene lost its antitumor function after tumorigenesis. In this review, the possible mechanisms of rare p53 mutation in EBVaGC are summarized.
8.Mordern treatment of myelodysplastic syndrome
Chinese Journal of Practical Internal Medicine 2001;0(05):-
Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) is a clonal disorders characterized by ineffective hematopoiesis, which can lead to either fatal cytopenias or acute myelogenous leukemias (AML).MDS mainly occurs in the elderly population. The current use of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for MDS patients is the only medical care, but not available for patients who are above 60 years.Recently, several new biological and chemotherapeutic agents have been used in the treatment of MDS alone or jointlly, which may result in the improvement of hematologic parameters and the prevention of disease progression.

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 2001;0(07):-
Objective To investigate the changes of serum protein profile of rats in psychological stress and in analogous psychological training, identify the differential expression proteins, and assess the effectiveness of psychological training. Methods Thirty-two male Wistar rats were randomly divided into psychological training group, psychological stress group, control group and stressor group (8 each).Rats in stressor group received intermittent foot-shock.Instead of foot-shock,the rats in psychological stress group animals received the stimulation information from stressor group by watching, listening and smelling.Rats in psychological training group were put in special equipment and received stimulation information from stressor group synchronously, and in control group were kept in individual cages and received no stress.Experiments were performed once a morning for two weeks. The changes of serum protein profile of rats in psychological training group, psychological stress group and control group were determined and statistically analyzed by Surface Enhanced Laser Desorption Ionization-Time of Flight-Mass Spectrometry (SELDI-TOF-MS) after the experiments. Results Variance analysis showed that the relative contents of proteins with M/Z value of 7820.51,8870.18,6860.85,8625.13 and 11413.91Da were significantly different (P
10."Relationship between diabetic retinopathy ""metabolic memory"" and oxidative stress"
Chinese Journal of Ocular Fundus Diseases 2017;33(3):327-330
Metabolic memory means if the hyperglycemia can't be controlled at early stage of diabetes, chronic complications such as diabetic retinopathy (DR) will continue to develop even if the blood glucose level maintains normal level at later stage.Oxidative stress plays an important role in the metabolic memory of DR,which interacts with the nitrative stress, advanced glycation end products, genetic modification and endoplasmic reticulum stress in the pathogenesis of DR.Further elucidation of the relationship between oxidative stress and metabolic memory of DR can open the way for the discovery of novel therapeutic targets to prevent DR progression.
