6.Effects of rocuronium on micro-endplate potential and endplate potential in isolated diaphragmatic muscle preparation of rat
Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1982;0(01):-
Objective To investigate the effects of rocuronium on the neuromuscular junction of rat diaphragm. Methods One hundred and sixty rats were used in the study which was approved by the Animal Care Committee of the General Hospital of PLA. In isolated non-uniformly stretched muscle preparation (INSMP) of rat diaphragm, micro-endplate potentials (MEPP) and endplate potentials (EPP) were recorded simultaneously with one microelectrode of one endplate. The effects of rocuronium in dosages of 2.5, 5, 10, 20?g/ml on the amplitude and frequency of MEPP and the amplitude of EPP were observed. Results Rocuronium could decrease both the amplitude and frequency of MEPP obviously and the onset time was 1min after drug administration. The amplitude of EPP was depressed by rocuronium in a dose of 5?g/ml at 3min. Neither 2.5?g/ml nor 0.5?g/ml of rocuronium produced any effect on the amplitude of EPP. Conclusion The results indicated that rocuronium might produce a rapid and early presynaptic effect on neuromuscular junction in INSMP in rats.

8.Advance in Investigation of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (review)
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2006;12(10):879-882
Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a non-invasive technique that can activate cortical motor areas and the corticospinal tract without causing the subject discomfort. Since TMS was introduced, numerous applications of this technique have been developed for the evaluation of neurologic diseases. They allow the evaluation of cortex excitability and motor conduction in the central nervous system and have been proved useful in monitoring motor abnormalities and the recovery of motor function. TMS also gives informations on the pathophysiology of the processes underlying the various clinical conditions and contribute to investigate the mechanisms of diseases. In addition, therapeutic use in depression, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, spinal cord injury and stroke has raised great interest over the past decade. Theapplication of TMS has great potential both as an investigational and as a therapeutical tool in neurology and psychiatry. However, as an infant techniology, there should be further investigation and large randomized trials to be conducted.
9. Changes of serum fibroblast growth factor 23 in patients with end stage renal disease and its clinical significance
Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2010;29(10):1184-1187
Objective: To observe the serum level of fibroblast growth factor-23 (FGF-23) in patients with end stage renal disease (ESRD) and study its association with phosphorus and vitamin D metabolism. Methods: Serum FGF-23 level was determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) in ESRD patients undergoing haemodialysis (HD, n=50) and peritoneal dialysis (PD, n=24) and in twenty healthy controls (control group, n=20). Serum level of 1,25-(OH) 2 VitD was measured by enzyme immunoassay(EIA). Serum intact parathyroid hormone (PTH), creatinine, and calcium and phosphorus were also measured. Results: Serum FGF-23 was obviously higher in HD group([88.51 ± 35.01] ng/L vs [11.76 ± 3.63] ng/L) and PD group([87.85 ± 33.65] ng/L vs [11.76 ± 3.63] ng/L) than in control group. Moreover, the serum level of 1,25-(OH)2 VitD was lower in HD and PD groups than in control group ([19.82 ± 4.99] pmol/L vs [48.37 ± 3.47] pmol/L; [24.31 ± 7.11] pmol/ L vs [48.37 ± 3.47] pmol/L), and the level of 1,25-(OH)2 VitD was much lower in HD group than in PD group. Pearson relativity analysis showed that serum FGF-23 level was positively correlated with serum creatinine, phosphorus, intact PTH and duration of dialysis(P<0.01); and was negatively correlated with 1,25-(OH)2 VitD(P<0.01). Conclusion: Serum FGF-23 is greatly up-regulated in patients with ESRD, and the level of serum 1,25-(OH)2 VitD is down-regulated. The changes of FGF-23 is associated with serum creatinine, phosphorus, intact PTH and 1,25-(OH)2 VitD.
10.Evaluation of the clinical effectiveness of silicone oil removal in high myopia with macular hole by optical coherence tomography
Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology 2012;30(1):67-71
Background The recurrent rate of retinal detachment is much higher after silicone oil removal in high myopia with macular hole. How reduce the recurrence is a hot topic.Whether optical coherence tomography (OCT)-assisted examination is helpful for the improvement of surgery successful rate is in clinical observation ObjectiveThis study was to observe macular retinal status before silicone oil removal in eyes with macular holerelated retinal detachment in highly myopic eyes by OCT and evaluate the factors that influence successful silicone oil removal.MethodsFifty-five eyes of 49 consecutive patients who received vitreoretinal surgery for highly myopic retinal detachment caused by macular hole from January 2005 to December 2008 were involved, and 45 eyes of 40 patients who underwent silicone oil tamponade were retrospectively analyzed.Three to six months after vitreoretinal surgery combined with silicone oil tamponade, removal of silicone oil was performed based on the macular appearance on the OCT and the patients were followed up for over 1 year. The OCT manifestation of macular hole and the best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) were compared between before vitrectomy combined with silicone oil tamponade surgery, and after removal of silicone oil.The healing of the macular hole was classified into type Ⅰ and Ⅱ healing according to the OCT results.ResultsThe retina at the macular area completely reattached in 40 eyes(88.89% )before removal of silicone, and the margin of the macular hole had disappeared in 2 of the 40 eyes, showing type Ⅰ heal.Thirty-eight eyes were determined to exhibit type Ⅱ healing, presenting with a visible hole margin and local defection of nervous fiber layer. Two years after the removal of silicone, retinal detachment reappeared in 1 eye with type Ⅱ heal. The BCVAs were 1.93±0.06 and 1.16±0.07 before and 1 year after removal of silicone, respectively, showing a significant difference between them(P =0.00).ConclusionsOCT is a useful tool for the prediction of anatomic outcomes in macular hole-related retinal detachment eyes with high myopia.Silicone oil removal can be performed in macular hole closure eye or attached-well hole edge eye based on OCT examination. However, attachedwell hole edge eye should receive longer follow-up time.
