Objective To observe the regulating effect of inhaling glucocorticoid on imbalance of IL-4/interferon-?(IFN-?) cytokines in children with first onset wheezing .Methods IL-4 and IFN-? levels were examined in separated serum of 60 children wheezing with first onset wheezing, they were divided into abnormal level of IL-4/IFN-? group (n=38) and normal level of IL-4/IFN-? group(n=22,group C) depending on the level of IL-4/IFN-?,and 38 cases with abnormal level of IL-4/IFN-? were randomly divided into group A and B.Group B and C were given routine treatment without intervening treatment, while group A inhaled beclomethasone dipropionate aerosols for 3 months after routine treatment.Twenty healthy children for routine physical examinations in the same period were selected as healthy control group, who were examined for IL-4 and IFN-? with the same methods. Results Before treatment, the levels of IL-4 and IL-4/IFN-? in group A and B were significantly higher than those in group C and healthy control group(Pa

Objective To learn about electrolytes imbalance and water intoxication in children treated with high-dose cyclophosphamide(HD-CTX)as well as the renal function and the relative clinical symptoms, and study the mechanisms of hyponatremia. Methods Patients' clinical manifestations during and after HD-CTX therapy were summarized.Serum electrolytes and creatinine(Cr)were detected before and 6 or 8 hours after therapy with HD-CTX,antidiuretic hormone(ADH) in some patients were measured. Results Of 108 therapeutic cases 24 accompanied with vomits and 22 with a decreased urine output,in which 4 developed eyelid or ankle edema.Seven cases had neural-sarcous symptoms and 5 cases had abdominal pain or diarrhea.Serum sodium decreased significantly after HD-CTX[(139.12?3.30) mmol/L vs(134.06?8.23) mmol/L] in whom rechecked after 6 h,(141.77?3.59) mmol/L vs(133.26?6.41) mmol/L in those rechecked after 8 h(Pa0.05].Serum Cr increased 8 h after therapy[(29.95?13.61) ?mol/L vs(43.33 ? 17.25) ?mol/L P

Objective To evaluate the role of TCD examination in diagnosis of the early cerebrovascular diseases in aged diabetic patients. Methods 179 cases of aged type Ⅱ diabetic patients were divided into three groups(PDR,BDR and NDB)according to their retinopathy.TCD and retina examination were performed in all patients and the data be analysed. Results (1)The systolic peak flow velocity(Vp) of MCA、ACA、ICA and BA were significant increased in diabetic pa- tients than in normal control group(P

Objective To study hemodynamics of cerebral blood flow in newborns with asphyxia.Method Bilateral cerebral electrical admittance plethysmogram(BCEAP) was used to explore characteristics of cerebral blood flow in 20 healthy newborns and 20 newborns with asphyxia respectively from first to fourth day after birth. Results Both the ratio of Hs to b-S(Hs/ b-S) and index of admittance differential loop(ADL) Ⅰ+Ⅱ decreased significantly in newborns with asphyxia compared to normal control from first to fourth day after birth(P

Thunder-fire wonder moxibustion is one of pressing moxibustion therapies and has a very good therapeutic effect on limb pains, furuncle-carbuncle and cold syndrome. To reveal the mechanism of clinical action of ancestors’ thunder-fire wonder moxibustion and seek the physical basis of its therapeutic advantage, this study, by a series of experiments, compared heat transfer regularities of thunder-fire wonder moxibustion versus pure moxa stick in simulated biological tissues under different conditions, preliminarily revealed heat radiation and heat transfer regularities of thunder-fire wonder moxibustion, tried to find pressing strength suitable for clinical operation of pressing moxibustion and had thoughts about changes in the clinical operation of past dynasties.

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2006;0(17):-
Objective To investigate the association of platelet activating factor acetylhydrolase(PAF-AH) activity in children with primary nephrotic syndrome(PNS).Methods The plasma PAF-AH activity was measured in 78 children with PNS who were divided into 3 groups:steroid-responsive nephritic,steroid-dependent nephritic,steroid-resistent nephritic, after they had been given steroid for 6 months. The plasma PAF-AH activity were also measured in 60 healthy children at the same age, with spectrophotometric assay,at the ame time, the blood cholesterol was measured. Results The blood cholesterol has positive correlation with the plasma PAF-AH activity, there was no significant difference of the blood cholesterol among 3 groups in nephrotic syndrome children, there was a significant difference in the plasma PAF-AH activity among 3 groups in PNS children, but there was no significant difference in the plasma PAF-AH activity between the groups of steroid-responsive nephritic and healthy children. Conclusion Plasma PAF-AH activity is related to the sensibility to steroid treatment in children′s PNS,and the plasma PAF-AH activity in steroid-resistent nephritic is higher than steroid-dependent nephritic. It is a question that if gene mutation is related with PAF-AH activity.

Objective To release the correlation of point mutation of platelet activating factor acetylhydrolase(PAF-AH)gene and primary nephritic syndrome (PNS).Method According to the effect of hormonal therapy,94 children with PNS were divided into three groups:steroid-sensitive nephritic syndrome(SSNS),steroid-resistent nephritic syndrome(SRNS),steroid-dependent nephritic syndrome(SDNS).The point mutation of PAF-AH gene (G994T) were identified by molecular biology technique in children with PNS and 239 healthy children were set as control group. Results No statistics differences were found relating to the genotype and allele frequencies between patients with PNS,SSNS,SRNS and normal controls. But it is confirmed that the genotype and allele frequencies among patients with nephritic type nephritic syndrome (NTNS)was higher than patients with simple type nephritic syndrome(STNS) and normal controls.SDNS was higher than both SSNS and normal controls. The number of relapses during the first year after onset was significantly higher in the patients who were heterozygous for the mutant allele (GT) or homozygotes (TT) than in those of the GG homozygotes. Conclusion Most PNS children with PAF-AH gene mutation occurred at position 994 were NTNS.The risk of relapse during the treatment period was higher in patients with PAF-AH gene mutation occurred at position 994.
