Stathmin is a novel member of microtubule-destabilizing proteins that play a critical role in the regulation of the dynamic equilibrium of microtubules during different phases of the cell cycle.The overexpression of stathmin was found in different type of cancer.Inhibition of stathmin expression in malignant cells may interfere with their orderly progression through the cell cycle.Overexpression of stathmin can affect the action of antimicrotuble drugs by markedly decreasing binding of paclitaxel,and increasing binding of Vinca alkaloids.In addition,stathmin provides an attractive molecular target for cancer therapy.It may be possible to combine adenovirus-mediated anti-stathmin ribozyme therapy with a chemotherapeutic agent such as taxol to obtain a more potent antiproliferative and antitumor effect.

The energy cost of the daily major activities, the basal metabolic rates (BMR), resting metabolic rates (RMR) and total energy expenditure of university students per day under normal conditions were determined respectively by Douglas' method. The average BMR of male and female subjects were 2.80?0.14 and 2.74?0.13 kJ.m-2min-1. (0.669 and 0.656 kcal?m~2?min-1) respectively. The total energy expenditure per day of male students was 11.32 MJ, and of female students 9.92 MJ per day. The energy cost of different activity can be used as the basic data in studies of energy metabolism.

Textbooks are the base of teaching.The physiology textbooks used in medical education was compared between China and the United States.Guyton and Hall Textbook of Medical Physiology was chosen as the major representative of the United States.The overall framework, the selection and arrangement of the contents, the application of tables and pictures, and the relationship between basic medicine and clinical medicine were discussed.This paper may provide some information for remodeling of specialized course system and teaching contents of physiology, especially for improving the constructive quality of textbooks in the future.

Objective To study into the influence of Ze Xie and Dan Shan root on the immunity regulation and the expression of radical in mice with chronic pelvic infection. Methods The model of mice with chronic pelvic infection was established by putting phenol into the endometrium of the mice. The density change of serum IL -2, TNF, SOD and MDA of the mice was measure by the method of radiation immunity and the method of biochemistry. AIM: To investigate the relationship between levels of blood viscosity and ocular hemodynamic changes in patients of primary glaucoma (PG).METHODS: The blood rheology indices (including whole blood, plasma, packed cell, relative blood visco-sities and yield stress) were determined in primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) patients, primary acute angle closure glaucoma (PAACG) patients, primary chronic angle closure glaucoma (PCACG) patients and normal control group (patients with senile cataract), 20 cases each group. The peak systolic velocity (PSV), end diastolic velocity (EDV), resistant index (RI), shape of spectra and frequency of monitor of ophthalmic artery (OA) and central artery of retina (CRA) were detected with color Doppler imaging (CDI) simultaneously. Comparing to the differences of each group with t test and giving a linear relational analysis to targets between the blood viscosity and hemodynamic of primary glaucoma patients.RESULTS: The blood rheology targets in PG groups were significantly higher than those in control group except fibrinogen. Comparing to control group, PSV and EDV in PG groups were significantly decreased but RI was remarkably increased. All targets of blood viscosity in PG patients were significantly negatively correlated with the PSV, EDV of both OA and CRA, but were significantly positively correlated with RI of OA and CRA. There were no significant correlations between the blood viscosity and ocular hemodynamics in the normal control.CONCLUSION: There are ocular blood circulation obstacles in and high level of blood viscosity PG patients, CDI has an important reference value in early diagnosis and prognosis of glaucoma.

Objective To investigate the intracellular and extracellular affinity between hepatitis B virus e antigen (HBeAg) and protein AK026018. Methods The gene AK026018 was amplified by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) technique from HepG2 cell. The expressive vector of pGADT7-AK was constructed by routine molecular biological methods. The auxotroph yeast cells were cotransfected with pGADT7-AK and pGBKT7-eAg and plated on synthetic dropout nutrient medium (SD/-Trp-Leu-His-Ade) containing x-?-gal. To further prove the affinity between HBeAg and protein AK026018, translation was performed by using reticulocyte lysate, and immunoprecipitation was showed in vitro. Results The expressive vector was constructed and confirmed by DNA sequencing analysis and restriction enzyme digestion.The positive clones could grow on SD/-Trp-Leu-His-Ade/x-?-gal medium and were blue. The radioautographic band were found in immunoprecipitation analysis. Conclusions HBeAg could bind protein AK026018 in vivo and in vitro.

The mechanism of long chain non-coding RNA (lncRNA) is diverse. LncRNA can regulate the expression of genes at multiple levels and is closely related to some pathological process, such as tumor formation, viral replication, inflammatory damage, etc. The abnormal expression of lncRNA is involved in the patho-physiological changes of the disease, and plays a key role in many links, such as the stability of mRNA, the regulation of translation level, protein transport, RNA processing and modification, and so on. The development of sepsis inflammatory injury is a complex process involving multiple genes and pathways, in which the abnormal structure and expression of many encoding genes or non-coding genes exist.This paper review the research progress on lncRNA in the regulation of chondriokinesis, pro-inflammatory cytokines, calcium ion transport, nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) in signal pathway and other inflammatory lesions, which may provide a new method for the diagnosis and treatment of sepsis.

Objective The different distribution and clinical significance of mean platelet volume (MPV) in the healthy normoglycemic and impaired fasting glucose (IFG) individuals were discussed.Methods The 499 individuals including 184 male and 315 female,who had undergone health checks in Tianjin Huanhu Hospital during May and July 2012 were studied retrospectively.Average age is forty-five ( thirty-five to eighty).Subjects were categorized into four groups according to fasting plasma glucose ( FPG) levels:G1 (3.89 mmol/L≤FPG<5 mmol/L, n=125),G2(5 mmol/L≤FPG <5.5 mmol/L, n=121), G3(5.5 mmol/L≤FPG<6.1 mmol/L, n=142), and G4(6.1 mmol/L≤FPG<7 mmol/L, n=111).G1, G2, and G3 are defined as normal FPG groups and G 4 is defined as IFG group.Eighty-nine cases in the same age patients with type II diabetes mellitus group ( G5 ) were observed at the same time.Results The MPV increased with the increasing FPG levels in the following order:G1(8.62 ±0.77) fl, G2 (8.85 ±0.80) fl, G3(8.90 ±0.69) fl,G4(9.14 ±0.78) fl and G5(12.03 ±1.42) fl.MPV[(12.03 ±1.42) fl] of type Ⅱdiabetes mellitus group(G5) was higher than that in the IFG group (G4)[(9.14 ±0.78) fl] and normal FPG groups[G1(8.62 ±0.77) fl,G2(8.85 ±0.80) fl,G3(8.90 ±0.69) fl] (F=12.773,P<0.01);MPV of the IFG group [ ( 9.14 ±0.78 ) fl ] was significantly higher than that in normal FPG groups [ G1 (8.62 ±0.77) fl,G2(8.85 ±0.80) fl,G3(8.90 ±0.69) fl] (F=12.773,P<0.01 for G4 vs.G1 and G2, P<0.05 for G4 vs.G3) ;MPV in the high-normal glucose group (G3) [(8.90 ±0.69) fl] was obviously higher than that in the low-normal glucose group (G1) [(8.62 ±0.77) fl] (F=12.773,P<0.05);MPV was positively associated with FPG in normal FPG groups ,IFG group and type Ⅱ diabetes mellitus group (G1-3:r=0.22, P<0.05;G4:r=0.26, P<0.01;G5:r=0.29, P<0.01).Conclusions Significant difference of MPV was observed in population of different FPG levels.Especially, MPV in IFG group was evidently higher than that in normal FPG group and was positively associated with FPG levels.
