Manganese(Mn) is one of the essential trace elements in biologic metabolism.With proper quantity,Mn acts as some enzymes’active groups,reactivators,and participates in the physiological functions of central nervous system.Overdose exposure to Mn in industry may result in occurrence of occupational manganism,which can cause damage of many aspects of the body such as nerve,immunity and reproduction.The aim of present essay is to review the current studies on nerval behavior function and biomarkers of manganism both in China and other countries.

Objective To understand the epidemiological characteristics of malaria in Wuxi City,and explore effective strat?egies and measures for malaria elimination. Methods The data on malaria cases in Wuxi from 2005 to 2014 were collected and analyzed. Results In Wuxi City,from 2005 to 2014,201 malaria cases were reported,of which,there were 52 local cases and 149 imported cases. Totally 156 malaria cases were reported from 2005 to 2009,of which 6 cases were infected with Plasmodi?um falciparum,and 45 malaria cases were reported from 2010 to 2014,of which 23 cases were infected with P. falciparum. From 2005 to 2009,the ratio of male to female was 2.39:1. Migrant workers,farmers and workers were the major infected popu?lations,with a proportion of 41.03%,17.95% and 9.62%,respectively. From 2010 to 2014,the ratio of male to female was 10.25:1. Workers,farmers and migrant workers were the major infected populations,with a proportion of 37.78%,11.11%and 6.67%,respectively. The peak of malaria incidence was observed from May to October. From 2005 to 2009,most cases were re?ported by CDCs,and from 2010 to 2014,most cases were reported by medical institution. There was an increase in proportion of P. falciparum. Conclusion The control and prevention of malaria should focus on imported cases in the future in Wuxi. The doctors should improve the capacity of malaria diagnosis and treatment.

Objective To investigate the pancreas size and echo characteristics of patients with glucose metabolism disorders including type 2 diabetes,and to study its related factors.Methods One hundred and fifty-seven patients from Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital with normal glucose metabolism,impaired glucose regulation,newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes and established type 2 diabetes were collected.The average gray scale intensity of the liver,kidney,pancreas region of interest was measured by using the histogram method.Then the liver and kidney echo ratio,liver attenuation coefficient was calculated,and the fat content of liver was determined by using formula.The size of pancreas head,body and tail was detected by ultrasound,and the sum of three values was used as the pancreas size indicator.Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed on the size of pancreas and intensity of echo.Results The size of pancreas ranged from 2.39 ～ 6.09 cm with a mean size of (4.43 ± 0.59) cm,and the size was ≤ 5 cm in 130patients,＞5 cmin 27 patients.The intensity of echo ranged from 41.0 ～ 190.6 with a mean number of 120.0 ±31.1,and the intensity of echo was ≤120 in 83 patients,＞ 120 in 74 patients.The content of liver fat ranged from-1.11％ ～ 62.50％ with a mean number of (15.67± 11.97)％.Univariate logistic regression analysis suggested the size of pancreas was related to age and obesity,and pancreas echo was related to obesity degree,types of participants,the level of blood glucose,and grade of fatty liver (all P ＜ 0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated obesity degree is the most important factor for prediction of pancreas size and echo (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions Quantitative ultrasound measurement of pancreas size and echo can reflect the degree of fat infiltration of pancreas,and it has some clinical value.

Objective To study the effects of He-Ne laser irradiation on histological changes and the expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen ( PCNA ) and B-cell lymphoma/leukemia-2 ( Bcl-2 ) in the gastric mucosa of rats with chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) so as to elucidate the relationship of He-Ne laser irradiation with precancerous lesions and apoptosis in the gastric mucosa. Methods The rats were divided into a normal group,a model group and a laser group.A model of CAG was established by gastric perfusion with a mixture of sodium salicylate and alcohol combined with irregular fasting and forced exercise.A He-Ne laser was used to irradiate the rats at 3.36 J/cm2 for 7 min daily for 20 d.Histopathological changes including the severity of inflammation in the gastric mucosa and the morphology and structure of the parietal cells were observed with a light microscope,and the expression of PCNA and Bcl-2 was detected with immunohistochemical methods. Results The pathologic morphological changes in the gastric mucosa of the model group were atrophy of the glands of the gastric mucosa and notable inflammatory infiltration.But in the laser group inflamed cells decreased,and the morphology,structure and volume of the cells all recovered close to normal.The immunohistochemistry results showed that during the atrophy of the gastric mucosa the expression of PCNA and Bcl-2 was elevated,and it was significantly higher in the model group than in the normal group.After irradiation the expression of PCNA and Bcl-2 was significantly lower. Conclusions There was hyper-proliferation in the gastric mucosa of the CAG model rats,with high expression of apoptosis suppressor PCNA and Bcl-2 proteins.Laser irradiation can reduce the expression of PCNA and Bcl-2,enhance cell proliferation and induce apoptosis,preventing the development of cancer.Laser irradiation has a good adjuvant therapeutic effect for all the pathological changes observed.

Objective To investigate the effect of dexamethasone on expressions of angiopoietin-1,2 (Ang-1,2) in rats with acute lung injury induced by phosgene.Methods A total of 36 SD rats were randomly (random number) divided into 3 groups:normal control group that consisted of the rats with air exposure,phosgene group that consisted of the rats with exposure to 8.33 mg/L phosgene (purity 100％,of the same volume as the inhaled air in the normal control group) for 5 minutes and dexamethasone group that consisted of the rats with caudal vein injection of 2.5 mg/kg dexamethasone an hour before exposure to the same dose of phosgene.Wet and dry ratio of the lung (W/D) was calculated,and leukocyte count and total protein content of bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) were recorded 2 hours later.The concentrations of Ang-1,2 in the serum and BALF were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was used to determine the mRNA levels of Ang-1,2 and Tie-2 in the lung tissue.The protein expression of Ang-1,2 and Tie-2 in the lung tissue were quantified by Western blot.Results Compared with phosgene group,the lung W/D,protein content of BALF and WBC count in dexamethasone group were significantly decreased (P ＜ 0.01).Compared with normal control group,Ang-1 and Tie-2 expressions in phosgene group were significantly decreased (P ＜ 0.01).Compared with phosgene group,the serum,BALF and lung tissue of Ang-1 and Tie-2 expressions in dexamethasone group was significantly increased (P ＜0.01).Compared with normal control group,the serum,BALF and lung tissue of Ang-2 expressions in phosgene group were significantly increased (P ＜ 0.01).Compared with phosgene group,the serum,BALF and lung tissue of Ang-2 expressions in dexamethasone group were significantly decreased (P ＜ 0.05,P ＜ 0.01).Conclusion Dexamethasone has a beneficial effect on acute lung injury induced by phosgene in rats by inhibition of Ang-2 and increase in Ang-1 and Tie-2 expressions.

Objective To define basic medical service items in Shanghai community health centers.Methods Two rounds of Delphi expert consultation were carried out with 36 experts specialized in general practice,general practitioner training,internal practice,public health and health management,then the scope of medical service system was set up based on experts' opinions.Results The newly-defined system consisted of three first-grade items:outpatient medical service,hospital medical service and medical service for home beds and temporary home visits.The first-grade items contained 22 second-grade items and the second-grade items consisted of 26 detailed items,including 17 baseline items,8 optional items and 1 restrained item.In two rounds of Delphi consultation the activity coefficient of experts was all 100％,authority coefficients of experts was 0.825,and harmonious coefficient of the importance of the evaluation was 0.361 and 0.488 (all P ＜ 0.01),respectively.Conclusion The preliminarily developed system of basic medical service items in Shanghai community health service can provide a reference frame for government policy-making.
