1.Expressions of TTF-1,MHC-1 in thyroid of autoimmune thyroid diseases
Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2000;0(06):-
Expression of major histocompatibility complex class 1(MHC-1)and thyroid specific transcription factor-1(TTF-1)in thyroid follicular epithelia of Graves'disease and Hashimoto's thyroiditis measured by immunohistochemistry technique were all significantly increased as compared with those in normal controls, suggesting that TTF-1 and MHC-1 seem to contribute to the development of autoimmune thyroid diseases.

Aim The changes of the levels of blood sugar and plasma insulin in obese woman pa-tients with insulin resistance and the effect of insulin intravenous infusion during oper-ation were observed. Methods 10 patients of normal weight(contrast group, group A)and 20 patients of obesity women(ASA grade Ⅰ- Ⅱ) undergoing selective surgerywere investigated. The patients of obesity were randomly divided into two groups(group B and C, respectively). Groups A and B liquids without glucose, and in group Ctransfuse liquids with glucose and insulin(4g glucose add 1U insulin) were transfusedduring operation. The levels of blood sugar and plasma insulin were measured beforeand after anesthesia, during operation(30min) and after operation respectively. ResultsThere was an insulin resistance phenomenon in patients with obesity. The levels ofblood sugar and plasma insulin in patients with obesity were remarkably higher thanthose in patients of normal weight. The levels of blood sugar and plasma insulin wereextremely raised after anesthesia and during operation. The levles of blood sugar wasinhibited as insulin was infused during operation, but no hypoglycemic reaction wasfound. Conclusion There are insulin resistance phenomenon in patients with obesity.Insulin infused during operation can prevent blood sugar rise and minimize glucosemetabolism turbulence.

Journal of Practical Radiology 1996;0(04):-
Objective To set up the standard of normal prostate volume based on MRI measurement. Methods 30 healthy male adults without any urogenital symptoms were included in this study. The subjects were divided into four groups according to their ages. The length, width and height of the prostate and central gland were measured by MRI.The volume, weight and the rate of central gland to prostate proportion were calculated and compared in various age groups. Results For normal prostate:the average width was(3.02?0.47)cm,the length was(4.19?0.52)cm,the height was(3.24?0.34)cm,the volume was(22.01?7.48)cm 3,and the weight was(23.11?7.86)g.There were significant differences in the value of length, the width, the volume and the weight in various age groups(P=0.006,0.001,0.014 respectively); For the central gland:the width was(2.01?0.41)cm,the length was(2.06?0.34)cm,the height was(2.01?0.32)cm,the volume was(4.46?1.74)cm 3,the weight was(4.68?1.82)g,and the ratio of central gland volume to whole prostate volume was 20.4%.The volume and weight of central gland was significantly different in various age groups. There were significant differences between the contrast-enhancement of central gland and peripheral zone(P=0.0001).The central gland was obviously enhanced at vein phase. Conclusion The volume of the prostate and the central gland are positive correlated with the age. With the ages increased, the prostate and the central gland volume are increased.

Objective To study the diagnosis and stage of benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)with quantitative MRI measurement. Methods 25 cases of BPH proved by pathology were undergone MRI examinations. The length, width and height of the prostate and central gland were measured on MR images. The volume, weight and the central gland to prostate proportion were calculated and compared in various age groups. Results The width, length, height, volume and weight of prostate in BPH were larger than those in normal prostate. The central gland to prostate proportion in BPH was 46.1%,which was much larger than that of normal prostate(20.4%).The width, length, height, volume and weight of prostate and central gland were significantly different in various hyperplasia degree groups(P

Objective To evaluate the efficacy, safety and side effects of 0.5% povidone-iodine in intravesical treatment of interstitial cystitis (IC). Methods Thirty-three cases of IC were divided randomly into group A (18 cases) and group B (15 cases). Group A was treated by intravesical instillation with 50 ml of 0.5% povidone-iodine which was kept in the bladder for 2 hours, once a day for 2 weeks. Group B was treated in the same way,but with 1:5000 furacilin instead. The symptoms, results of cystoscope inspect and adverse effects were investigated. Results All cases were followed up from 8 to 22 months (in average of 18 months). There was significant difference in the scores of clinical symptoms after treatment between two groups (P

AIMTo search for potential anti-atherosclerosis drugs with vascular relaxation activity, a series of agonists of endothelial targets were designed and synthesized.
METHODSCoupling N-methyl-1,2, 3,6-tetrahydrapyridine ring system with 3,4-dibenzenesulfonyl-1,2,5-oxadiazole-2-oxide through esterification or amidation, a series of arecoline derivatives containing NO donors were designed and synthesised.
RESULTSA novel series of compounds structurally related to arecoline have been prepared, the proposed structures of eighteen new compounds were established by IR, 1H NMR, MS spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The effects of the target compounds on the vasodilation activity were tested in the isolated preparation of mice thoratic aorta.
CONCLUSIONThis preliminary pharmacological tests showed that the candidates have good vasodilation activities and were worthy to be intensively studied.

International Eye Science 2016;16(6):1092-1095
?AIM: To explore the relation of homocysteine ( Hcy ) and its metabolic related indicators with primary angle-closure glaucoma ( PACG) .?METHODS: In this study, a total of 150 PACG patients and 150 controls were enrolled. The patients with PACG were diagnosed by applanation tonometer, Humphrey perimetry ( HVF ) , optical coherence tomography ( OCT ) , gonioscope. The normal controls were recruited from physical examination center. Blood samples were collected and the plasma was used to determine homocysteine, vitamin B12 and folic acid. DNA was extracted to determine the methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase ( MTHFR ) C677TT genotype and gene polymorphism.?RESULTS:There was a statistically significant difference (t=2. 04,P=0. 04) in mean homocysteine levels between patients with PACG ( 16. 11 ± 1. 66μmol/L ) and controls (15. 74± 1. 52μmol/L). The level of vitamin B12 in PACG group was 248. 09 ± 119. 07pg/mL and the control group was 230. 21 ± 142. 93pg/mL. No statistically significant difference was found on the vitamin B12 level between the two groups ( t = 0. 84, P = 0. 40 ). The folic acid levels showed no statistically significant differences( t=1. 65,P=0.17) between the PACG group(12. 02±7. 81ng/mL) and the control group (13. 15 ± 6. 25ng/mL). The frequency distribution of the MTHFR C677T genotypes was found to be significantly associated (χ2 =6. 2,P<0. 05) with PCAG (CC 84. 7%, CT 4. 7%, TT 10. 7%) as compared to the controls (CC 94. 7%, CT 2. 0%, TT 3. 3%). The frequency distribution of TT genotypes of MTHFR C677T in the PACG group was significantly higher than that in the control group. Moreover, our findings showed significant difference (χ2=14. 2,P<0. 05) between the allele frequency of the C677T single nucleotide polymorphism within the MTHFR gene in POAG patients ( T 87. 0%, C 13. 0%) and the control group(T 95. 7%,C 4. 3%) .?CONCLUSION: These results show that the Hcy level and the TT genotypes of MTHFR C677T were higher in the PACG patients than in controls. Therefore, our data suggests that high Hcy level and the related indicators are associated with high PACG risk.
