AIM: To observe the effect of perioperative detail treatment of pterygium.
METHODS:Sixty cases(100 eyes) of pterygium patients were collected from Sep. 2012 to Jan. 2014. All cases were performed modified pterygium excision with limbal epithelial autograft transplantion under microscope. Corneal wound healing, graft survival, and the recurrence of pterygium were observed.
RESULTS:All cases of conjunctival flap survive, corneal wound closed well. The patients were followed up for 7 to 12mo. Among them, 3 eyes recurred and the recurrence rate was 3%. There were no serious complications.
CONCLUSION:In the operation of pterygium excision with limbal epithelial autograft transplantion, standard and detail treatment can significantly improve the clinical effect.

Objective To assess the therapeutic strategies and prognostic factors that influence clinical outcome of malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH) of the abdomen. Methods Between Jul 1980 and Nov 2003, 51 intraabdominal MFH patients undergoing resection were retrospectively analyzed. Results Postoperative recurrence developed in 35 patients, with local recurrence in 15 (29. 4% ) , distant metastasis in 20, including lung metastasis in 8 ( 15. 7% ) , liver metastasis in 4(7. 8% ) , and bone metastasis in 6 ( 11. 7% ). The 1-, 3- and 5-year disease-free survival rate was 70. 6% , 43. 1% and 29. 4% , respectively, and the 1-, 3- and 5-year cumulative survival rate was 74. 5% , 52. 9% and 31. 4% , respectively. Conclusions Intraabdominal MFH is a rare entity with high biological aggressiveness and high metastasis potential. Surgical resection has generally been accepted as the treatment of choice for MFH, at the same time, there appears to be a role for radiation therapy, in combination with surgery for better local control, particularly in high-grade lesions.

Objective To investigate the influence of mental intervention on the self-image of breast cancer patients. Methods Fifty patients with breast cancer who were hospitalized in our hospital from January to September,2015 were enrolled as the control group in the study, where routine nursing intervention, health education on disease related knowledge and psychological nursing were carried out.During October 2015 to June 2016,50 patients with breast cancer were enrolled as the observation group, where psychological awareness intervention was carried out apart from the routine nursing intervention. The self-image level of breast cancer patients from the two groups was evaluated by self-image questionnaire for breast cancer patients (BIBCQ).Result After intervention, the scores on self-image in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion Mental intervention can improve the self-image of breast cancer patients and help improve their quality of life.

A remarkabale inhibitory activity was exhibited by the aqueous extract from Rhizoma smilacisglabrae(RSG) against both picryl chloride(PC)- induced contact dermatitis and sheep red bloodcells (SRBC)- induced footpad reaction. The effect of RSG was displayed more distinctlywheng given after than before the 2nd antigen challenge.RSG also showed a marked anti-in-flammatory activity against xylene- induced ear and egg whiteinduced footpad edema.Addi-tionally,RSG did not show a potable influence on IgM- and IgG-PFC counts against SRBC inmice. An increase but not decrease in serum hemolysin level, however, was observed in both groupsof RSG,peralleled with the finding that hemolytic plaques in PFC test were obviously biggerthan those in control. These results suggest that RSG has a selective activity to suppress the cellularimmune response without inhibiting the humoral immune response. The suppression to cellular im-munity by RSG may be presented mainly through affecting the inflammatory process after lym-phokine release.

Objective To investigate the effects of reciprocal inhibition on motor function connectivity in the brains of stroke patients. Methods Thirty patients with stroke were randomly divided into a treatment group (n =15) and a control group (n =15).The control group underwent normal limb positioning, medium frequency electrotherapy, circulated compression of the limbs, etc. The treatment group received conventional rehabilitation treatment plus reciprocal inhibition treatment for 30 min daily,6 times a week for 4 weeks. All of the patients were assessed before and after treatment using the Canadian neurological scale (CNS),the Frenchay activities index (FAI),the motricity index (MI) and functional magnetic resonance imaging of the motor cortex in a resting state (rs-fMRI).Results In both groups the average CNS,FAI and MI scores improved significantly.Compared with the control group, the changes in FAI and MI scores in the treatment group improved significantly more. The coefficient of functional connectivity of the bilateral motor cortex decreased significantly after treatment in both groups. In the treatment group the motor cortex functional connectivity correlated significantly with the improvements in MI scores. Conclusions Reciprocal inhibition can accelerate the improvement of extremity motor function and ability in the activities of daily living significantly after stroke. It reduces functional connectivity in the bilateral motor cortex in ways significantly correlated with improvements in motor function.
