Background Recently,small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE) procedure is used to correct myopia.The clinical safety and efficiency of SMILE have been approved,but its predictability to corneal ablation depth is brought into focus.Objective This study was to compare the predictability of ablation depth in central cornea between SMILE and femtosecond laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (FS-LASIK) for myopia.Methods A nonrandomized controlled clinical study was performed.Two hundred and seventy eyes of 135 myopic patients who were going to receive corneal refractive surgery were included in Beijing Tongren Hospital from October 2015 to May 2016.SMILE and FS-LASIK were performed on 138 eyes of 69 patients and 132 eyes of 66 patients matched in demography respectively under the informed consent.Central corneal thickness was measured by RTVue FD-OCT before and 1 week after surgery.The refractive power,actual ablation depth (difference of central corneal thickness before and after surgery) and central corneal cutting error (difference between theoretically expected ablation depth and real ablation depth) were intergrouply compared,and the correlation of real ablation depth with theoretically expected ablation depth was assessed.Results No significant difference was found in spherical power,astigmatic power and spherical equivalent after surgery between SMILE group and FS-LASIK group (t =-1.826,-1.405,-1.420,all at P＞0.05).The actual ablation depth was (76.96± 15.27)μm in the SMILE group,which was significant lower than (96.76± 16.52) μm of theoretically expected ablation depth (t =-23.016,P ＜ 0.01);however,there was no significant difference in the FS-LASIK group between actual and expected ablation depth ([77.92 ± 18.69] μm versus [77.42± 15.60] μm) (t =-0.604,P =0.547).The central corneal cutting error was (20.55 ± 8.51) μm in the SMILE group and (7.17±5.97) μm in the FS-LASIK group,showing a significant difference between them (t=14.950,P＜0.01).The positive linear correlations were seen between actual and expected ablation depth in both SMILE group and FS-LASIK group (r=0.799,0.867,both at P＜0.01).The actual ablation depth was increased over expected ablation depth,with the regression equations of Y=3.892+0.749X in the SMILE group and Y=3.443 + 0.957X in the FS-LASIK group.Conclusions The actual corneal ablation depth is less than expected corneal ablation depth in SMILE procedure,while in FS-LASIK procedure,the actual corneal ablation depth appears to be consistent with the expected one,inferring a good predictability in corneal ablation depth in FS-LASIK surgery.

Objective To follow-up the patients with successful posterior segment intraocular foreign body removal.Methods Medical records of consecutive cases with posterior segment intraocular foreign body that were successfully removed between June 2005 and June 2008 were retrospectively reviewed.Twenty-three patients(23 eyes)were included in the series.Results Followed up 3-36 months All the patients underwent pars plana vitrectomy for posterior segment intraocular foreign body removsl,4 patients (4 eyes)experienced rhegmatogenous retinal detachments that were managed with good long-term visual outcomes.Conclusions Rhegmatogenous retinal detachments may occur following successful removal of posterior segment intraocular foreign body in several months after initial management.These rhegmatogenous retinal detachments can be successfully managed with a variety of methods,depending upon the extent and location of the detachments and causative break.Therefore,it is clinically important to perform a long-term follow-up in patients after successful posterior segment intraocular foreign body removal.

Objective To investigate the synergistic regulation of KDM3B and JMJD1C in leukemia. Methods The expression level of JMJD1C and KDM3B were analyzed in multiple acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cell lines. AML cell lines NB4 and HL-60 were treated with Daminozide, followed by determination of H3K9 mono-methylation and di-methylation. AML cell lines NB4 and HL-60 were treated with Daminozide, ATRA (retinoid acid All-trans), C Vitamin and the expression of KDM3B and JMJD1C were detected by real-time quantitative PCR. Results The expression level of KDM3B and JMJD1C in the AML cell lines was negatively correlated. In NB4 and HL-60 cells treated by daminozide, H3K9 mono-methylation and di- methylation level showed a rising trend in these two cell groups. After treatment of NB4 cells with the 3 reagents, the level of mRNA of KDM3B was down-regulated while the level of mRNA of JMJD1C was up-regulated. In HL-60 cells treated by daminozide, the mRNA level of KDM3B was up-regulated and the mRNA level of JMJD1C was down-regulated. Conclusion The expression of KDM3B and JMJD1C is negatively correlated in patients with AML.

Objective To investigate the differences in dosimetry between conformal radiotherapy (CRT),field-in-field intensity-modulated radiotherapy (FIF-IMRT),and intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) after breast-conserving surgery for left-sided breast cancer.Methods A total of 31 patients who underwent breast-conserving surgery for left-sided breast cancer were randomly selected,and the plans for CRT,FIF-IMRT,and IMRT were developed.The dose-volume histogram (DVH) was used for self-control study,and the non-parametric test was used to compare the differences in target volume and doses to organs at risk (OARs).Results All the three methods met the requirements of the prescribed doses.The CRT group had a higher V105 of the target volume and higher heart V30 and Dmax (P=0.000,0.000,0.000).The IMRT group had higher V5 and Dmean (P=0.000,0.000),as well as a higher lung V5 and a lower lung V40 (P=0.000,0.000).The FIF-IMRT group had the lowest Dmean (P=0.000),and the IMRT group had significantly higher Dmean and Dmax of the right lung and the spinal cord than the other two groups (P=0.000,0.000,0.000,0.000).The FIF-IMRT group had a significantly lower single hop count than the other two groups (P=0.000).Conclusions CRT has a good dose distribution in the target volume,but greatly injures the surrounding tissues.FIF-IMRT can well protect OARs and cause less damage to the device.

OBJECTIVE:To provide reference for rational use of antibiotics in the clinic. METHODS:In retrospective study, the distribution,composition and drug resistance of pathogens in our hospital during Jan.-Dec. in 2015 were analyzed statistically. RESULTS:In 2015,a total of 9401 specimens were collected in microbiology laboratory of our hospital;pathogens were detect-ed in 1743 specimens with positive rate of 18.54%;1591 strains of pathogens were isolated,mainly from sputum (59.77%), urine (14.775) and blood sample (8.93%). Totally 347 strains of Gram-positive bacteria(21.81%),991 strains of Gram-negative bacteria (62.29%),253 strains of fungus (15.90%)were detected. Top 4 pathogens in the list of amount were Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae,Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus. S. aureus,Streptococcus pneumoniae and Staphylo-coccus haemolyticus were sensitive to vancomycin,linezolid and sodium fusidate,with resistance rate of 0;resistance rates of them to erythromycin were more than 65%. The resistance rate of S. aureus to penicillin was more than 95%,and S. haemolyticus showed high resistance rate to common antibiotics. Drug resistances of E. coli,K. pneumoniae and P. aeruginosa to carbapenems were all lower than 15%,and they were sensitive to polymyxin with resistance rate of 0. Resistance rate of E. coli to quinolones was more than 50%. CONCLUSIONS:The main pathogens are Gram-negative bacteria in our hospital,drug resistance of them are not satisfactory. Drugs most sensitive to main pathogens include vancomycin,linezolid,carbapenems,etc. The inspection of patho-gen drug resistance characteristics should be strengthened,and antibiotics should be selected rationally and normatively according to the results of drug sensitivity test.

Objective To investigate the function of acid pocket in reflux esophagitis. Methods The 15 healthy controls and 24 reflux esophagitis patients were identified by reflux disease questionnaire (RDQ) and gastric endoscopy. The location of subjects' lower esophageal sphincter (LES) was determined by 4 channel esophageal manometry system. Then a single-channel pH electrode was positioned 1 cm below the distal border of the LES to monitor fasting pH for half an hour. After a standard meal, the pH was continuously measured for two hours. Then the electrode was moved to 5 cm above the proximal border of the LES to monitor the dynamic pH for 24 h.Results Acid pocket was found in 16 cases of reflux esophagitis patients(66.67%) and 10 cases of healthy individuals (10/15). Acid pocket occurred earlier in reflux esophagitis group than healthy controls [11.00(4.25-17.00) min vs 30.00(15.50-54.25) min, P＜0.05], and the average pH value was lower [1.84(1.59-2. 19) vs 2.32 (1.96-2.71), P＜0.05]. There was no statistic difference in mean pH value of gastroesophageal junction and the duration of acid pocket before the meal.Conclusion There is abnormal acid reflux in reflux esophagitis patients, and acid pocket with earlier occurrence and lower pH value may relevant to esophageal mucosal impairment.
