Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2006;0(08):-
Objective To investigate the changes of expression of neuronal nitric oxide synthase(nNOS) after sleep deprivation(SD) in rats, and to study the effects of Xingnaojing on them. Methods Rapid eye movement(REM) SD models(SD group,n=40) were established by the modified multiple platform methods. The rats in SD group were subjected to drug intervention group(n=20) and non-drug intervention group(n=20).Xingnaojing injection was administered to the drug intervention group.Rats in SD group were deprived of sleep for 1,3,5 and 7 d. The expression of nNOS in brain tissues was detected by immunohistochemistry. The rats without SD were severed as cage control group(n=10) and tank control group(n=10). Results The expression of positive cells of nNOS in brain tissues increased with the time of SD,and Xingnaojing decreased the number of positive cells of nNOS.The area density of positive reaction cells in SD group was significantly higher than those in cage control group and tank control group(P

Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2006;0(05):-
Objective To study the change of metabolism of serum lipids in patients with mild cognitive impairment(MCI). Methods The serum levels of total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),low density lipoprotein(LDL) and high density lipoprotein(HDL) were measured in 60 patients with MCI and 100 age-matched normal controls. ResultsThe serum levels of TC,TG and LDL were significantly higher and HDL significantly lower in patients with MCI than in normal controls(P

Objective To observe the expression and distribution of angiopoietin-like protein 3(ANGPTL3) in kidney of adriamycin(ADR)-induced nephrotic rats, and to explore the possible association of ANGPTL3 with the development of proteinuria and hyperlipidemia. Methods Adriamycininduced nephrotic rat models were established by a single injection of adriamycin via the tail vein. Immunohistochemical staining (IHS)and dot-ELISA were used to examine the expression and distribution of ANGPTL3 in kidney and the level of ANGPTL3 in serum of ADR rats at day 7,14, 21 and 28 after adriamycin injection. Results (1) In ADR rats, urinary protein and the level of triglyceride and cholesterol in serum increased significantly at day 14 (P

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2004;0(09):-
Objective To further investigate the pathohistology of chronic gastritis in children and the relationship between helicobacter pylori(Hp) infection and mucosal chronic inflammatory. Methods Gastric antrum biopsies were carried out from children who had chronic gastritis confirmed by gastroendoscopy during the past 3 years in our hospital. The results of pathohistological observation were analyzed by retrospectire method. Results One thousand six hundred cases of chronic gastritis were included,in which 1007 cases without Hp infection,593 with Hp infection.Among the patients without Hp infection, mild inflammatory were much more than mode-(rate) or severe inflammatory(86% vs 14%).Although,in patients with Hp infection, mild inflammatory were the most common presentation(63%),moderate and severe inflammatory were more predominant in patients with Hp infection. The degree of inflammatory was increased with the quantity of Hp infection. The ratio of lymphocytes, neutrophils and lymphoid follicles in gastric mucosa was much higher in Hp positive group than negative one(94%,40%,22% vs 60%,11%,5%,respectively),and the difference was significant in statistic analysis.Gastric mucosal atrophy was found more in Hp positive group(16.5%) than negative one(7%).The proportion of intestinal metaplasia in cases with Hp infection was 1.5% compared with 0.1% in these children. Conclusion The study shows that there is a close relationship between Hp and antrun chronic inflammation and mucosal atrophy.

OBJECTIVETo compare the clinical efficacy differences between acupoint catgut embedding and Kuntai capsule for perimenopausal syndrome, so as to provide an effective treatment method for perimenopausal syndrome.
METHODSThirty-three cases in the embedding group were treated with acupoint catgut embedding at back-shu points and front-mu points of liver, spleen and kidney combined with syndrome differentiation and disease differentiation, ten days per times; the Kuntai group was treated with oral administration of Kuntai capsule, 4 capsules each time, three times per day. The Kupperman index (KI) was observed in the two groups before treatment after 10 days, 30 days and 60 days of treatment, respectively; the efficacy was evaluated according to the ratio of KI.
RESULTSAfter the treatment, as treatment proceeded, the score of KI and ratio of KI were gradually reduced in two groups; the score of KI and ratio of KI in the embedding group after 10 days of treatment was lower than those in the Kuntai group (both P<0.05); after 10 days of treatment, the total effective rate was 36.4% (12/33) in the embedding group, which was superior to 3.0% (1/33) in the Kuntai group (P<0.05); however, after 30 days and 60 days of treatment, the differences of each index between two groups were not statistically significant (all P>0.05).
CONCLUSIONBoth the acupoint catgut embedding and Kuntai capsule could reduce the score of KI and improve clinical symptoms, and the acupoint catgut embedding has certain advantage on the early stage of treatment.

Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a human herpesvirus associated with important human diseases, including infectious mononucleosis syndrome, malignant lymphoma, and nasopharyngeal carcinoma. The mechanism of EBV entry into host cells remains a subject of intensive research. After decades of study, researchers have identified several key proteins and different patterns of EBV intrusion into host cells. The viral surface glycoproteins, gp350/220, gp42, gB, gH, and gL, are involved in interactions with the CR2 receptor on the surface of B lymphocytes during viral entry. However, the majority of epithelial cells lack CR2 receptor expression, which makes viral invasion much more complex than in B lymphocytes. Three different models have been proposed to explain how EBV enters epithelial cells: (1) "transfer of infection", mediated by B lymphocytes or Langerhans cells; (2) EBV utilizes its own proteins during the process of fusion with the cell membrane; and (3) progeny virions arising from EBV-infected epithelial cells cross lateral membranes into adjacent epithelial cells. This review will discuss the relevant mechanism of viral entry into B lymphocytes and epithelial cells during EBV infection.

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 1986;0(02):-
Objective To evaluate the neuroprotective effect and safety of neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy(HIE)treated with recombinant human erythropoietin(rhEPO).Methods Fifty-three neonates with HIE were randomly divided into rhEPO treated group(n=29) with the dosage of 300 U/(kg?time),three times a week for 2 weeks and control group(n=24)without rhEPO.All supportive measures were same between 2 groups.Neurological scoring was evaluated at d3,d5 and d7 Neonatal behavioral neurological assessment(NBNA) was evaluated at d7,d14 and d28.The neurodevelopment quote was evaluated at age of 3 and 6 months.Blood pressure, liver and renal function, blood electrolytes and blood hemoglobin, platelet and reticular red blood cell count were monitored before and after treatment in all infants. Results The neurological scoring between two groups had no difference at d3.The significant difference was found at d7(P0.05).Conclusions Teraphy with rhEPO on neonatal HIE infants can promote neurological recovery, and there is no serious side effect with rhEPO treatment.
