Objective To explore the potential association between HLA-DRB1 Alleles and systemic scleroderma (SSc) of the Zhuang Nationality in Guangxi region. Methods Polymerase chain reaction-special sequence primers (PCR-SSP) was used to study the HLA-DRB1 alleles in 58 patients with SSc and 50 healthy controls of the Zhuang Nationalty in Guangxi Province. Comparisons between groups were performed with χ2 test or exact probabilities. Results Sixteen HLA-DRB1 alleles were discovered from the specimens, including 14 in the SSc specimens, and 16 in the control specimens. Among them, the allele frequencies of HLA-DRB1 * 1301 (7.760%, OR=9.000, χ2=4.341, P=0.037), HLA-DRB1 * 1305 (11.207%, OR=3.322,χ2=4.206, P=0.040) and DRB1 * 15 (26.724%, OR=2.679, χ2=6.038, P=0.014) were significantly higher in SSc patients than those of the controls (respectively for 1.000%, 4.000%, 15.000%). Conclusion Our data suggest that the HLA-DRB1 * 1301, HLA-DRB1 * 1305 and HLA-DRB1 * 15 may be the susceptible genes of SSc in Zhuang nationality population.

Eighty two heart failure (HF) patients were enrolled in the study, including 52 cases with pulmonary infection (infectious group) and 30 cases without pulmonary infection (noninfectious group).Plasma brain natriuretic peptide (BNP),N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) levels were measured and the correlation of plasma BNP,NT-proBNP and NT-proBNP/BNP with inflammatory markers (WBC count,CRP,PCT) and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) was analyzed. Results show that NT-proBNP/BNP ratio in infectious group was significantly higher than that in noninfectious group (t =10.764,P < 0.01).In infectious group,NT-proBNP/BNP was positively correlated with inflammation markers (P < 0.01),but not with LVEF (P > 0.05) ; NT-proBNP and BNP levels were not correlated with inflammation markers and LVEF (P > 0.05).In noninfectious group,NT-proBNP/BNP was not correlated with inflammation markers and LVEF (P > 0.05),NT-proBNP and BNP were positively correlated with CRP and negatively correlated with LVEF (all P < 0.01),not correlated with WBC count or PCT (P > 0.05).Multiple linear regression analysis showed that NT-proBNP/BNP ratio had positive correlation with CRP in infectious group. The results reveal that in heart failure patients complicated with pulmonary infection, neither NT-proBNP nor BNP reflects the severity of heart failure or infection; but the NT-proBNP/BNP ratio can indicate the severity of infection independently.

Chinese Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology 2001;0(01):-
Objective To analyze the effects of routine early amniotomy on labor and health status of foetus and neonate. Methods The results of “Early amniotomy increases the frequency of fetal heart rate abnormalities, A randomized controlled trial of early amniotomy, Effect of early amniotomy on the risk of dystocia in nulliparous women, The influence of elective amniotomy on fetal heart rate patterns and the course of labor in term patients: A randomized study, Randomised trial comparing a policy of early with selective amniotomy in uncomplicated labour at term and A randomized controlled trial and meta-analysis of active management of labour were analyzed using Mantel-Haenszel method (fixed effect model) in meta-analysis. Results (1) The routine early amniotomy can shorten 94.90 min of the first stage of labor, 95% CI (-119.17,-70.52). (2) The OR for cesarean section was 1.25,95%CI (0.99-1.57),for instrumental vaginal delivery was 1.05, 95% CI (0.90-1.24). (3) There was no difference in abnormal fetal heart rate at first stage (OR=0.95, 95% CI: 0.75-1.21), but there was increased abnormal fetal heart rate at second stage(OR=1.28, 95% CI: 1.02-1.61). (4) The frequency of stained amniotic fluid and abnormal Apgar scores at 1 minute was not different significantly [ OR=1.17,95% CI (0.78-1.73);OR=0.71,95%CI: (0.49-1.03)]. Conclusions Routine early amniotomy appears to be associated with both benefits and risks. Beneficial effects include reductions in labor duration and possible decrease in frequency of abnormal Apgar score at one minute. Risks include increase in abnormal fetal heart rate at second stage and possible rise in cesarean section rate.
