Objective To evaluate and recommend the use of appendix anastomosed to umbilicus as the outlet of urinary reservoir. Methods The procedure has been conducted in 17 cases underwent total cystectomy from Jan 1995 to May 2000 and the outcome has been studied. Results Continence has been achieved in all.Neither difficulty in catheterization nor acute pyelonephritis was noted. There has been slight bilateral hydronephrosis in 2 patients. Conclusions The use of appendix anastomosed to umbilicus as the outlet of continent urinary reservoir is a good alternative for urinary diversion.

Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2017;15(2):136-140
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of different therapies in treating straightened cervical curvature. Methods:A hundred patients with straightened cervical curvature were randomized into 5 groups to receive corresponding treatment. The clinical efficacies and the changes of cervical curvature in the five groups were compared. Results:Different therapies all produced certain effectiveness in treating cervical spondylosis patients. The total effective rates in the acupuncture group and tuina group were both 100%, and the rates in the traction group, oral medication group and Chinese medicinal application group were all lower than the rates in the acupuncture group and tuina group (P<0.05). It was shown that the more significant the change of cervical curvature, the more significant the clinical efficacy. Conclusion:Correcting the straightened cervical curvature is a way to swiftly release pain brought by cervical spondylosis; the optimization of different therapies ensures the achievement of long-term effectiveness; acupuncture and tuina are both effective in restoring the cervical curvature.

Objective:To establish a method for determining the immunological activity of ribonucleic acid. Methods: Leucocyte adherence inhibition test ( LAI) was applied, and the important parameters of LAI including the mouse strain, drug concentration, treatment time, content of buffer solution and cell density were researched. The immunological activity of RNAⅠ, Ⅱand Ⅲ was re-spectively determined by the method. Results:Stable and reliable parameters were obtained: the sample concentration was 10 mg· ml-1 , the treatment time was 2 hours, Ca2+ and Mg2+ were necessary for the buffer solution, and the cell density was about 4 × 107 cell·ml-1 . The strain of mouse showed no effect on the results. As a result, the determination method for immunological activity was established. Using the method, the immunological activity of RNA Ⅰ,Ⅱand Ⅲ was determined 3 times, and the results met the re-quirements with RSD below 20%. Conclusion:The method is suitable for determining the immunological activity of RNA.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2003;0(09):-
Aim To study the hypoglycemic effect and the mechanism of novel sulfonyluric compound G-003. Methods ① After compound G-003 was givenig for 7 days, the levels of fasting plasma glucose of normal mouse was assayed with glucose oxidase kit. ② Rat pancreatic islets, adipocytes and mouse heaptocytes were isolated and cultured. Effects of compound G-003 on insulin release, glucose transport and utilization and glycogen synthesis were studied. Results Compound G-003 markedly decreased the levels of fasting plasma glucose of normal mouse, stimulated isolated pancreatic rat islets to release insulin and increased glucose transport and utilization in isolated rat adipocytes. Compound G-003 has no effect on glycogen synthesis in isolated mouse hepatocytes. Conclusion Compound G-003 has a significantly hypoglycemic effect. The hypoglycemic mechanism of novel compound G-003 may be attributed to stimulate secretion of insulin and increase glucose transport and utilization.

Objective: To compare the effects of deliberate hypotension and hemorrhagic hypotension on systemic and renal hemodynamics in dogs. Method: Twelve mongrel dogs were randomly divided into nitroprusside-deliberated hypotension group and hemorrhagic hypotension group. After surgical preparation, the MAP of the dogs was decreased to 8kPa either by infusing nitroprusside or by withdrawing arterial blood and was kept for 30 min. RBF, MAP, HR, CO and CVP were monitored continuously. Result: Hypotension induced by hemorrhage was associated with significant decrease in CO, SV and CVP compared with nitroprusside. There was no significant change in HR in both groups. Hemor rhage caused more decrease in RBF than nitroprusside did (59.0% vs 37.5%). In recovery period, RBF in both groups increased, but remained significantly less than baseline in hemorrhage group. Conclusion: Hemorrhage can cause more pronounced interference in hemodynamics and more decrease in RBF with a subsequent slower recovery than with nitroprusside at the same level of hypotension.

Chinese Journal of Anesthesiology 1997;0(11):-
Objective:To compare the effects of induced hypotensions with sevoflurane and nitroprusside on hemodynamics in dogs. Method:Fourteen mongrel dogs were randomly divided into sevoflurane group and nitroprusside group. After experimental preparation, the MAP was decreased to 8kPa and was kept for 30min either with sevoflurane inhalation or with nitroprusside infusion. MAP, HR,CO,CVP,SV and SVR wrer monitored continuously. Result: During induced hypotension, CO in sevoflurane and nitroprusside groups decreased by 30.7% and 21.6% respectively; HR decreased significantly in sevoflurane group, but not in nitroprusside group; SVR in both groups showed reduction, but more pronounced in nitroprusside group. However, after the termination of sevoflurane or nitroprusside, MAP elevated over baseline with the significant increase of SVR,and CO remaining low. Conclusion:As compared with nitroprusside, sevoflurane has inhibitory effect on circulation, yet it is still efficient to induced hypotension.
