OBJECTIVETo observe the effect and mechanisim of zoledronate sodium on periprosthetic osteolysis in rat induced by polyethylene particles.

METHODSTotal 30 adult male SD rats, weighting from 250 to 300 g, were selected and randomly divided into three groups: blank control group, model control group and zoledronate sodium group respectively, 10 animals for each group. No treatment was performed in the blank control group. In model control group and zoledronate sodium group, the modle of periprosthetic osteolysis in rats were made by implanting polyethylene particles and titanium rods into their right femurs. After operation, rats in zoledronate sodium group were administered with zoledronate sodium (0.1 mg/kg each week) through subcutaneous injection for 8 weeks, then the blood was obtained and all experimental animals were sacrificed to get the right femur specimens. The femur BMD, IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-α, serum TRACP5b and CTX-I were detected.

RESULTSCompared with the model control group, the femur BMD was increased, while IL-1β, IL-6 and TNF-α were all decreased in zoledronate sodium group; the serum TRACP5b and CTX-I level were both reduced in zoledronate sodium group.

CONCLUSIONThe zoledronate sodium could effectively inhibit periprosthetic osteolysis in rats induced by polyethylene particles, which might be realized by inhibiting the activity of osteoclasts and the expression of IL-1β, IL-6 and TNF-α. It provides a new method to treat periprosthetic osteolysis of the artificial joint prosthesis.

To observe the curative effect of treating small -incision cataract extraction by intraocular lens implantation combined with trabeculectomy for primary angle-closure glaucoma with cataract.
●METHODS: Totally 44 cases (52 eyes) of primary angle-closure glaucoma combined with cataract were selected to undergo the combined surgery, in order to observe the patients' pre - and postoperative eyesights, intraocular pressures and the postoperative complications.
●RESULTS: The postoperative eyesight was improved significantly as compared with the preoperative eyesight. The intraocular pressure was declined dramatically. The result was of statistical significance (P<0. 05). All the 52 cases' surgeries were performed by the same surgeon. The surgeries were processed smoothly, with 6 postoperative eyes of anterior chamber inflammation cell response, 3 eyes of anterior chamber fibrinoid exudate, 2 eyes of shallow anterior chamber through mydriasis and treatment with glucocorticoids and non - steroidal eyedrops before absorption, and no complications like malignant glaucoma, cyclodialysis, etc. were reported through mydriasis and pressure bandaging before recovery.
● CONCLUSlON: Treating the primary angle - closure glaucoma combined with cataract through the combined surgery has high reliability and desirable curative effect. The surgical method is simple to learn and applicable for promotion on the basic level.

With references of historical materials and modern literature regarding acupoint characteristic, a secondary analysis on the concept, origin, related factors and research methods in present research of acupoint characteristic is performed. The acupoint characteristic should be considered as an acupoint inherent attribute that could explain physiological and pathological manifestations at the same time, including location attribute and function attribute, which is related with time and treatment method. Some re-thinking on acupoint characteristic is proposed as well as advice on further research method and direction, hoping to promote the research development of acupoint characteristic.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of slow release microcapsules of bFGF on implanted vein graft. Methods: The vein graft stenosis model was made in 24 New Zealand rabbits. Group I (n=8) served as control group, group II (n=8) as blank microcapsule group, group III(n=8) ,each microcapsule contains 1?g bFGF as bFGF group. In group II and III,5 blank microcapsules or bFGF slow release microcapsules were implanted close to the vein graft respectively. The desired DNA product of KGPcd and KGP-hag was obtained from the total DNA of Porphyromonas gingivalis by PCR with two pairs of gene specific primers. The segment of KGPcd and KGP-hag (about 1.5kb and 1.6kb) was inserted into pGEM-T easy Vector. The double-stranded DNA of the postitive clone was analyzed by restriction endonuclease mapping and DNA sequenceing. The sequences of KGPcd and KGP-hag were consistent with those of the references appeared. The proteins of KGPcd and KGP-hag will be obtained for further study.

Objective:To evaluate the effect of short-time group psychological guidance on mental quality of college students. Methods:Designed the content of one day's psychological coach.600 college students received psychological coach successively.60 students were randomly chosen as the intervened group,who were treated with one-day group psychological guidance,while 60 students,who never attended the group psychological guidance,were chosen as control.Assessed and compared the mental quality of the intervened group and the control group with the Faith in People Scale (FPS),Personal Evaluation Inventory (PEI),Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) on the day before or 1 and 12 weeks after coach.Results:There were no significant differences of the scale of FPS,PEI,SAS,and SDS between two groups before coach and there were significant differences between two groups after coach.Conclusion:Short-time group guidance is helpful to developing college students' ability in interpersonal contact and self-confidence and improving depression and anxiety.

Objective To evaluate the differentiated effectiveness of two-dimensional proton MR spectroscopy (2D~1H-MRS) to post-operative recurrent glioma and radiation injury. Methods Conventional MR and 2D~1H-MRS examinations were performed with Siemens 3.0T MR system for patients with recurrent contrast-enhancing lesions at the site of the treated glioma. The metabolite peaks were measured at the regions of enhanced nodule and edema, including N-acetylaspartate (NAA), choline-containing compounds (Cho) and creatine (Cr), while the Cho/Cr, Cho/NAA, NAA/Cr ratios were calculated. The new lesions were proved with histo-pathologic examination in 23 patients and clinical-imaging following-up in 12 patients. Recurrent gliomas were found in 20 patients, and radiation injury in 15 patients. Each mean metabolite ratio above was compared between two lesion types. Results At contrast-enhancing regions and edema regions, the mean Cho/Cr and Cho/NAA ratios were all significantly higher in patients with tumor recurrence compared with those with radiation injury. Tthe mean NAA/Cr ratio was significantly lower in patients with tumor recurrence compared with that with radiation injury at contrast-enhancing regions, but no significant difference was found at edema regions. Taking Cho/Cr and (or) Cho/NAA ratios >1.77 based on ROC curves of metabolite ratios as standards, the diagnostic sensitivity, specificity and accuracy was 90.00% (18/20), 93.33% (14/15) and 91.43% (32/35), respectively. Conclusion 2D~1H-MRS is a valuable method to distinguish postoperative recurrent glioma and radiation injury.

Objective To study the effect of different approach on myocardial contractile force, angiogenesis and collagen renovation in acute myocardial infarct site by implantation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). Methods 32 Gui-zbou Xiang porcine were randomly divided into control group (group C), intra-coronary arterial injection group (group A) ,topical injection group (group T) and intra-coronary arterial + topical injection group( group A + T). 3 ml bone marrow was extracted. MSCs were cultured according to the methods of Wakitani's. After being co-cultured with 5-azacytidine for 24 hours, these cells were labelled with bromodeoxyuridine ( BrdU ). Autologus MSCs were implanted into the acute myocardial infarct site via the distal segment of the ligated left anterior descending artery (LAD) ,topical injection and both. Specimens and muscle strip were harvested in 3 and 6 weeks after MSCs implantation for microvessel count, P Ⅲ NP activity and contractile force measurement. Results The contractile force(48.6±5.9) %, (42.1±6.2 ) %, ( 56.9±5.1 ) %, microvessel count ( 19.6±4.3,17.1±4.0, 23.2±5.5 ) and collagen renovation (4.6±0.5 ) μg/L, ( 5.9±0.7 ) μg/L, ( 3.9±0.3 ) μg/L in the cell implant groups was better than that in the control group(37.9±5.4)% ,13.2±3.8,(8.7±0.8) μg/L,(P <0.01) ,espe-cially in group A + T. Conclusions Implantation of MSCs through intra-coronary arterial plus topical injection of MSCs maybe an ideal approach for infracted myocardium.
