Objective To investigate the relationship between the content of ET-1, CGRP, NO in myocardium and cardiac function in chronic renal ischemia of rats caused by abdominal aortic banding. Methods Male wistar rats (weight 180 - 200g) were randomly divid-ed into 2 groups, operation group (n=30) and sham operation group (n=10). Abdominal aorta ligation between right and left renal ar-tery was made with silk suture in operation group, and the narrow degree of aorta was about 50% which was controlled by ligateing with a syr-inge needle (7#). The aorta was not ligated in sham operation group. After 16 weeks of operation, invasive measurement of blood pressure and cardiac function were performed, and content of ET-1, CGRP and NO in myocardium were determined. Results Compared with sham operation group, the blood pressures of rats in operation group were significantly elevated, with cardiac systolic and diastolic function de-creased and left ventricular mass index increased. After 16 weeks, compared with sham operation group, the content of ET-1 in cardiac tissue were significantly elevated in operation group (P<0.01), while the content of CGRP (P<0.01)and NO (P>0.05)were decreased. There were negative correlation between the content of ET-1 in cardiac tissue and LV +dp/dt max(r = -0.37, P<0. 05). Conclusions In the state of chronic kidney iachemia caused by abdominal aorta ligation, content of ET-1 in cardiac tissues were increased while CGRP and NO were decreased. There were negative correlation between the content of ET-1 in cardiac tissues and LV systolic function.

Objective To screen for ?-glucosidase inhibitors from the extracts of marine invertebrates collected at the seashore of Qingdao China.Method The 95% ethanol extracts of 33 species of marine invertebrates were screened for the presence of ?-glucosidase inhibitors using rapid colorimetric method.Result Some extracts have inhibitory activity against ?-glucosidase,among which the extracts of Tubularia marina,Asterina pectinifera,Apostichopus japonicus and Scapharca subcrenata have much higher inhibitory rate: 56.1%,67.3%,62.2%,and 66.3% at the concentration of 0.6 mg?mL-1.Conclusion The results suggested that marine invertebrates are sources of new ?-glucosidase inhibitors.

Objective To explore the reasons why patients with Keshan disesse complicated with hypertension and their interaction in Fuyu County, Heilongjiang Province. Methods Fifty-three patients with Keshan disease were investigated in January, April and July in 2007. Blood pressure was measured and the risk factors of hypertension were investigated. According to the diagnostic criteria of hypertension, patients were divided into hypertension group and non-hypertension group, and then the risk factors of hypertension, as well as the course of Keshan disease, were compared between the two groups. The risk factors include age, gender, family history of hypertension, salt intake in diet, smoking, drinking and obesity. Results The age of hypertension group[(57.83±8.89)years] was significantly higher than that of non-hypertension group [(51.53 ± 9.43)years, t = 2.3630, P < 0.05) ;while the course of Keshan disease in non-hypertension group [(31.63 ± 8.66)years] was notably longer than that in hypertension group [(25.08±11.41)years, t = 2.0224, P < 0.05] ;No statistically significant difference in gender, family history of hypertension, salt intake in diet, smoking, drinking and obesity was observed between the two groups(χ2 = 0.0072,0.1779,0.0029,0.1555,0.119,0.7679, all P > 0.05). Conclusions Age might be an important factor in patients with Keshan disease accompanied by hypertension, and the role of other risk factors of hypertension should not be overlooked;whether Keshan disease and hypertension can affect each other needs further investigation.

Objective To observe the impairment of different doses of cyclosporine A (CsA) to the rat myocardial tissue to offer scientific evidence for the long-term safe application of CsA in heart transplantation. Methods Eighty-four female Wistar rats, each weighing of (200 ± 25)g, were randomly divided into 12 groups. On days 7,14,21 after a constant peritoneal injection of CsA(0,5,10,15 mg/kg) and 1 ml physiological saline in control group, the rats were put to death, the rat myocardial tissue taken, to observe the pathologic and structural changes of the tissue cells under light microscope and electron microscope. The contents of rat myocardium tissue malondialdehyde(MDA) and superoxide dismutase(SOD) were measured;cardiomyocyte apoptosis was detected and accounted, apoptosis index(AI) was measured with the method of TUNEL. Results Small dose of CsA(5 mg/kg)had no obvious effects on cardiac tissue, in CsA groups of 10 mg/kg and 15 mg/kg, under the light microscope, there appeared edema, degeneration and necrosis of myocardium, part of cardiac myocyte had different level cavity;under the electron microscope, there appeared mitochondria damage, nucleus shrinkage and chromatic margination, part of cardiac myocyte had focus cavity. There was dilated endoplasic reticulum in the sarcoplasm. The effects of different time and dose on MDA content of rat myocardium tissue had statistical significance (F = 6.37,10.15, both P < 0.05). Interaction between time and dose existed statistical significance (F=7.14, P< 0.05). The MDA contents of CsA group of 10 mg/kg and 15 mg/kg were [(2.29 ± 0.18), (3.10 ± 0.45), (2.57± 0.37)nmol/L] and [(3.09±0.63), (3.32 ±0.52), (3.34 ± 0.29)nmol/L] on days 7,14,21 after a constant peritoneal injection of CsA, which were obviously higher than the control group [(1.98 ± 0.20), (2.04 ± 0.52), (1.99 ± 0.26) nmol/L, all P < 0.05], respectively. The effects of different time and dose on SOD activity of rat myocardium tissue had statistical significance(F = 8.43,11.69, both P < 0.05). Interaction between time and dose existed statistical significance(F = 9.86, P < 0.05). The SOD activity of CsA groups of 10 mg/kg and 15 mg/kg were (15.95 ± 1.00), (12.74 ± 1.31), (14.01 ± 0.81)nmol/L and (13.04 ± 1.01), (14.68 ± 0.81), (14.01 ± 0.63)nmol/L on days 7,14,21 after a constant peritoneal injection of CsA, which were obviously higher than the control group [(10.38 ± 0.80), (9.73 ± 0.58), (10.20 ± 0.26)nmol/L, all P < 0.05], respectively. Apoptosis nucleus appeared huffy or brown under the light microscope. The effects of different time and dose on AI of rat myocardium tissue had statistical significance (F = 10.02,20.46, both P < 0.05). Interaction between time and dose existed statistical significance (F = 15.73,P < 0.05). The AI of CsA groups of 10 mg/kg and 15 mg/kg were (6.91 ± 0.70)%, (11.10 ± 2.05)%,(19.81 ± 5.00)% and (11.02 ±2.02)%,(15.51 ± 1.31)%,(33.40±6.60)% on days 7,14,21 after a constant peritoneal injection of CsA, which were obviously higher than the control group [(4.40 ± 0.13)%, (4.60± 1.20)%, (5.20 ± 1.10), all P < 0.05] and CsA group of 5 mg/kg [(4.60 ± 0.10)%, (5.00±2.11)%, (5.43± 1.11)%, all P < 0.05], respectively. Conclusion Small dose of CsA has no obvious effects on cardiac tissue, but large dosage can induce myocyte apoptosis and damage by causing oxidative stress;after implantation, attention should be paid to cardiac impairment due to constant large dosage of CsA.

The problem of over-treatment of percutaneous coronary intervention is expounded in the paper.From the prospective of ethics,several factors such as doctor,patient and even society,all of which can affect the excessive implement of percutaneous coronary intervention,are analyzed in the article.Effective counter-measures to help the development of the technique are also discussed.

Objective To study the value of 256-slice spiral CT (MSCT) in internal thoracic artery. Methods The angiographic images of 107 patients who were suspected thoracic and abdominal aortic diseases were retrospectively ana-lyzed. The running rule and branches of internal thoracic artery on both sides were observed. Each side of the internal thorac-ic artery was divided into 3 sections according to the running rule. The lumen diameter, vessel length and its branches were measured in three segmental vascular of the internal thoracic artery. The lumen diameter of the diaphragmatic artery diame-ter,and the distance between internal thoracic artery and each border of the sternum were also measured. Results Both sides of the internal thoracic and diaphragmatic arteries were shown in 107 patients (100%). There were significant differenc-es in vascular lumen diameter of intrathoracic artery of both sides (P＜0.05). There were no significant differences between both sides of the corresponding segments (P>0.05). The left internal thoracic artery was significantly longer in the left side than that of right side (P＜0.05). There were no significant differences between the diameter of diaphragmatic arteries and the distance between the internal thoracic artery and the sternal edge of two sides (P>0.05). Conclusion The application of 256-slice spiral CT angiography can clearly show the running rule and anatomical features of internal thoracic artery ,and provide a relatively important clinical information.

Presently there is co-existed of over-and deficient treatment in percutaneous coronary intervention in china and the conflict of interest between doctors and patients among which mainly appeared to be financial conflict.The conflict is resulted from deviation of direction in reformation of economy policy,mismatched conditions between medical ethics and medical technique,misunderstanding between doctors and patients.In this paper we discussed the resolving methods,including enhancing healthy economy reformation,establishing harmonious relationship between doctors and patients,optimizing the utilizing of interventional technique.We also must persist in justice and public good principle.Undoubtedly to say conflict of interests between doctors and patients always exists,the way to minimize it relay on co-exertion of society,governmental control agency,doctors and patients,and this will take a long time.

Objective To investigate the effect of blood glucose levels on lipid-lowering therapy in patients with myocardial infraction (MI).Methods The data of 174 patients with acute or old MI and finished a two-year follow-up were analyzed retrospectively. The patients were divided into four groups: diabetes mellitus (DM) with well blood glucose control (DM+W group), diabetes mellitus with bad blood glucose control (DM+B group), non-diabetes mellitus with well blood glucose control (NDM+W group) and non-diabetes mellitus with bad blood glucose control (NDM+B group). Blood lipids levels, dose and side effects of statins were statistically analyzed.Results All the 174 patients had a mean follow-up period of 28±7 months, and 51 patients (25.9%) had diabetes mellitus. In DM+B group (n=13, 25.5%) and NDM+B group (n=24, 19.5%), there were no statistically difference between enrollment and 2-year follow-up in the mean levels of blood total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-c), but the mean level of LDL-c had a trend of elevation. In DM+W group, the mean level of LDL-c was 2.57 mmol/L at 2-year follow-up, which did not achieve the recommended LDL-c goal (2.06 mmol/L). There were no differences in statin therapy between each group. After 2-year follow-up, there were only 93 patients (53.4%) received normal dose of statin, 60 patients (34.5%) took low dose of statin and 16 patients (9.2%) had no statin therapy. There were no differences in hepatic enzyme abnormality between each group.Conclusion The bad control of blood glucose in patients with MI effect the efficacy of statins in lipid-lowering therapy. The doses of statin are insufficient especial in patients with MI and DM.
