Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2014;21(6):822-824
Objective To compare the clinical efficacy of different internal fixation methods in the treatment of intertrochanteric fractures. Methods he clinical data of 270 elderly patients with intertrochanteric fracture were retrospectively analyzed.According to the different internal fixation methods, the patients were divided into three groups, namely anti-rotation intramedullary nail(PFNA) group, dynamic hip screw(DHS) group and anatomic locking plate (LCP) group,90 cases in each group. The incision length, operative time, blood loss, hospital stay, postoperative weight-bearing time, postoperative bleeding and postoperative complications were compared among the three groups. The fracture healing was compared among the three groups during follow-up.Results The incision length of PFNA group compared with the DHS group (t =11.248,P =0.000) and the LCP group (t =12.371,P =0.000),the differences were significant. The operative time of PFNA group compared with the DHS group (t =15.048,P =0.000) and the LCP group(t =12.822,P =0.000),the differences were significant. The blood loss of PFNA group compared with the DHS group (t =5.803,P =0.000) and the LCP group (t =10.879,P =0.000),the differences were significant. The incidence rates of complications in PFNA group,DHS group,LCP group were 3.33% (3/90),10.00% (9/90),13.33% (12/90),respectively,and theincidence rate of PFNA group was lower than the other two groups (x2 =5.268,P =0.026).The average period of fracture healing in PFNA group compared with the DHS group (t =10.217,P =0.000) and the LCP group (t =4.530,P =0.000),the differences were significant. Conclusion PFNA in the treatment of senile intertrochanteric fractures has advantages such as less trauma, shorter operation time, less blood loss, fewer complications, faster recovery,it is worthy of clinical use.

Wear of polyethylene (PE) tibial inserts is a significant cause of implant failure of total knee arthroplasty (TKA). PE inserts wear measurement and evaluation is the key in TKA researches. There are many methods to measure insert wear. Qualitative methods such as observation are used to determine the wear and its type. Quantitative methods such as gravimetric analysis, coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) are used to measure the mass, volume and geometry of wear. In this paper, the principle, characteristics and research progress of main insert wear evaluation method were introduced and the problems and disadvantages were analyzed.

8. Effect of high dose γ-irradiation on phenotype and function of dendritic cells
Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2011;32(4):364-367
Objective To explore the effect of high dose γ-irradiation on the phenotype and function of dendritic cells (DCs) and to study the underlying mechanism of irradiation-induced immunosuppression. Methods GM-CSF and IL-4 were used to generate DCs, which were then subjected to 0, 10, 20, and 30 Gy γ irradiation. After 24 h irradiation DCs were treated with lipopolysaccharide for maturation. Then Transwell assay was used to determine the migration capacity of DCs, flow cytometry was used to detect the surface molecules on DCs (CD80, CD86, MHC-II, and CCR7). Cytokines secretion (IL-6, IL-10, and PGE2) was determined by ELISA. Resulls High dose γ-irradiation showed no influence on the phenotypes of DCs, but inhibited the migration of DCs towards CCL19. Moreover, the irradiation down-regulated CCR7 expression and decreased the secretion of IL-6, IL-10, and PGE2. Conclusion High dose γ-irradiation can inhibit DC migration by reducing CCR7 and induaing apoptoais. Moreover, it can also reduce the cytokine secretion, which provide a theoretical base for irradiation-induced immune suppression.
9. Studies on chemical constituents of Belamcanda chinensis
Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2010;31(10):1120-1122
Objective: To investigate the chemical constituents of 80% ETOH extract from rhizome of Belamcanda chinensis (L.) DC. Methods: The constituents were isolated and purified by chromatography on silica gel, Sephadex LH-20 and HPLC; the structures of the compounds were determined by MS and NMR spectral analysis. Results: Ten constituents were identified from rhizome of Belamcanda chinensis (L.) DC, including tectoridin (I), acetovanillone (II), 4-hydroxy-acetophenone (III), β-sitosterol (IV), β-daucosterol (V), 5, 7, 4′-trihydroxyl-3′, 5′-dimethoxyflavone (VI), luteolin (VII), apigenin (VIII), 5,7,4′-trihydroxyflavanones (IX), and isorhamnetin (X). Conclusion: Compounds VI, VI, VIII, and IX have been isolated from rhizome of Belamcanda chinensis for the first time.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the clinical effects of enblock distal radius T-plate fixation in treating trailing edge fracture of tibial plateau medial condyle and posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) avulsion fracture.
METHODSFrom September 2008 to November 2011, 5 patients with trailing edge fracture of tibial plateau medial condyle and PCL avulsion fracture caused by knee joint hyperextension, were treated with surgery. There were 3 males and 2 females with an average age of 35 years old (25 to 42). Left knee injury was in 3 cases and right knee had in 2 cases; 2 cases caused by sports injury and 3 cases caused by road accident. All patients were undergone emergency treatment. Fractures were anatomically reduced and fixed with T-plate through poples approach. Complications were observed after operation. Bone healing and clinical effects were respectively evaluated by X-rays and HSS system.
RESULTSFive patients were followed up for 1 to 4 years with a mean of 2 years. All incisions obtained healing of I stage. All knee joints recovered well and were stable with inflexion more than 120 degrees, no complications such as knee joint pain, injuries of nerve and blood vessel, infection, internal fixation failure were found. The mean score of HSS system was 94.40 +/- 6.09 and all patients got excellent result.
CONCLUSIONFor the treatment of trailing edge fracture of tibial plateau medial condyle and PCL avulsion fracture caused by knee joint hyperextension, enblock distal radius T-plate fixation had advantages of good stability, higher success rate, and knee joint function can recover well.
