Abstract: Objective To compare and analyze the clinical characteristics, diagnosis, and treatment of different subtypes of severe influenza in neonates to provide a reference for the diagnosis and treatment of neonatal severe influenza. Methods A cohort of 40 neonates with severe influenza who were hospitalized in the neonatology ward of Children's Hospital Affiliated to Zhengzhou University between January 2019 to December 2023 were selected and divided into two groups based on the virus subtype: influenza A (n=23) and influenza B (n=17). A retrospective analysis was conducted to compare general information, clinical manifestations, auxiliary examinations, complications, and treatment outcomes of neonates with severe influenza A and B infection. Results The number of days of hospitalization was longer in cases of influenza A than that of influenza B. The proportion of neonates with severe influenza A who exhibited fever was higher than that for influenza B, and a higher percentage of those with fever had peak temperatures ranging from 38.1 ℃ to 39 ℃. Gastrointestinal symptoms, including vomiting and diarrhea leading to dehydration, were more evident in severe influenza B cases. The proportion of influenza A cases with abnormal creatine kinase-MB isoenzyme levels (>25 U/L) was higher than that of influenza B, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There were no significant differences between the two types of influenza in other clinical manifestations, the incidence of pneumonia/respiratory failure complications, peripheral blood leukocyte count and classifications, the proportion of abnormal aspartate aminotransferase (AST) (>40 U/L), alanine aminotransferase (ALT) (>40 U/L), and creatine kinase (CK) (>200 U/L), and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) values (all P>0.05). In terms of treatment, neonates treated with Oseltamivir within 48 hours of onset mainly suffered from influenza A. Among those treated with Oseltamivir, the proportion of influenza A cases whose body temperature returned to normal within 24 hours was relatively higher, whereas, for those whose temperature returned to normal within 24-72 hours, the proportion was relatively higher in influenza B cases. These differences were statistically significant (all P<0.05). Conclusions Severe neonatal influenza usually occurs in winter and spring. After severe infection, fever is more obvious in neonates with influenza A, which is more likely to cause myocardial cell damage. Neonates with influenza A can be treated with Oseltamivir earlier and return to normal body temperature faster than those with influenza B after Oseltamivir treatment. Gastrointestinal symptoms are more common in neonates with severe influenza B.

Objectives:To compare the effect of glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor(GDNF) and methylprednisolone(MP) on intracellular free calcium([Ca2+]i) and capacity of containing water(CCW) after spinal cord injury(SCI). Methods:Forty-two SD rats were divided into four groups: control, GDNF,MP and GDNF+MP.GDNF and MP were supplied through subarachnoid cavity, tail vein and both of the above after T12 segments spinal cord injury by modified Allen crush method. Animals were executed and specimens were collected at 24 h, 72 h and 168 h after SCI.[Ca2+]i and CCW were measured using Fura-2 method. Results:Both [Ca2+]i and CCW of injured spinal cord in GDNF,MP, and GDNF+MP groups were lower than that of the control group at 24 h and 72 h after SCI(P<0.01).Levels of [Ca2+]i and CCW in GDNF group was much higher than that of MP and MP+GDNF groups(P<0.01),but there was no difference between MP group and MP+GDNF group(P>0.05) 24 hours after SCI. Seventy-two hours after SCI,[Ca2+]i in GDNF group was higher than that in MP group, MP group was higher than MP+GDNF group(P<0.05).CCW of GDNF group exceeded that of MP and MP+GDNF group(P<0.01).[Ca2+]i in GDNF group was higher than that in MP group, and MP group was higher than MP+GDNF group(P<0.01) 7 days postoperatively, but for CCW, there were no differences among GDNF,MP and MP+GDNF groups(P>0.05). Conclusions: Both GDNF,MP and GDNF + MP groups might reduce [Ca2+]i and CCW of injured spinal cord. The curative effect of MP for SCI preponderate over that of GDNF, the effect of MP could be enhanced by adding GDNF.

Objective To explore the approaches to improve the detection of early gastric and precancerous lesions for basic level hospi-tals. Methods The 72 patients with abnormal gastric mucosa observed by gastroscope arranged with pathology after acetic acid-indigo car-mine dyeing were considered as the dyeing group, and 68 patients with abnormal gastric mucosa observed by gastroscope directly arranged with pathology were considered as the control group. The dyeing conditions of gastric mucosa were observed and compared to pathology detec-tion. The detection rate of early gastric cancer and precancerous lesions in the two groups were compared. Results After acetic acid-indigo carmine dyeing, there were 16. 7% of demonstrated discoloration, 63. 9% of poor dyeing, and 14. 3% of even dyeing. The detection rate of early gastric cancer and high grade intraepithelial neoplasia in patients with mucosa discoloration (91. 7%) was obviously higher than that in patients with poor dyeing (8. 6%) or even dyeing (0. 0%). The detection rate of low grade intraepithelial neoplasia or intestinal metaplasia in patients with poor dyeing (82. 6%) was obviously higher than that in patients with mucosa discoloration (8. 3%) or even dyeing (14. 3%). The detection rate of early gastric cancer and precancerous lesions in dyeing group (13. 9%,63. 9%) was obviously higher than that in control group (2. 9%,29. 4%). Conclusion The acid-indigo carmine dyeing could increase the diagnosis of early gastric cancer and precancerous lesions in basic level hospital. It is adaptable to extend approach in basic level hospital for its low cost and simple operation.

In this study, UPLC-MS/MS was adopted to determine the contents of five ephedrine alkaloids (Norephedrine, Norpseudoephedrine, Ephedrine, Pseudoephedrine, Methylephedrine) in plasma and urine in rats after the combined administration of Ephedrae Herba-Gypsum Fibrosum and calculate relevant pharmacokinetic parameters, in order to discuss the effect of the combined administration of Ephedrae Herba-Gypsum Fibrosum on plasma pharmacokinetics and urinary excretion characteristics. According to the results, after being combined with Gypsum, the five ephedrine alkaloids showed similar pharmacokinetic changes, such as shortened t(max), accelerated absorption rate, but reduced AUC(0-t) and V(z)/F, which may be related to the increase in urine excretion. Besides, Gypsum was added to enhance C(max) of Pseudoephedrine and prolong MRT(0-t) of Methylephedrine, so as to enhance the anti-asthmatic effect of Ephedrae Herba and resist the toxic effect of Norephedrine and Ephedrine. This study proved the scientific compatibility of Ephedrae Herba-Gypsum Fibrosum and provided a reference for studies on the prescription compatibility regularity and relevant practices.
