Annals of Dermatology 2003;15(4):166-168
A Histologic finding of the Cutis marmorata telangiectatica congenita( CMTC) is non-specific, but dilated capillaries and increased number of vessels are often observed. Capillary hemangioma, mostly represented by strawberry nevus, may show various clinical manifestations. We report a case of Cutis marmorata telangiectatica congenita, which may be an unusual clinical presentation of capillary hemangioma.

Capillary hemangioma is the most common vascular tumor in childhood; however, its occurrence in the bronchus is extremely rare. We recently performed a sleeve resection of the left main bronchus on a four-month-old infant with a severe emphysema caused by bronchial capillary hemangioma.

Hemangioma of the testis is an extremely rare lesion, more or less than 10 cases having been reported in infancy or early childhood in the world. We have experienced one case of capillary hemangioma of the left testis in 6 year old Korean male, which was suspicious to be a malignant tumor.

Annals of Dermatology 1992;4(1):37-40
A case of Maffucci's syndrome is reported in a 6-year-old girl. She had multiple enchondromas of the long bones and the phalangeal bones with hemangiomatous skin lesions. The hemangiomas were the capillary type and were not anatomically related to the bone lesions.

Laboratory Medicine Online 2013;3(4):221-226
BACKGROUND: The hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) level is widely used to monitor glycemic control in diabetes mellitus patients, and various methods are used for its determination. The CAPILLARYS 2 FLEX Piercing (Sebia) is a fully automated, high-throughput glycohemoglobin (HbA1c) analyzer based on capillary electrophoresis. METHODS: The analytical performance of the CAPILLARYS 2 FLEX Piercing analyzer was evaluated for its precision, linearity, correlation with the Variant II Turbo (Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc.) analyzer, and its vulnerability to interference by carbamylated hemoglobin. We also investigated its agreement with National Glycohemoglobin Standardization Program (NGSP) targets. All evaluations were performed according to CLSI guidelines EP05, EP06, and EP09. RESULTS: The coefficients of variation (CVs) for within-run and total imprecision were 1.7% and 1.8% at low concentrations and 1.2% and 1.3% at high concentrations, respectively. Linearity was excellent, with R2=0.9882 in the range of 5.13-13.83%; these results highly correlated with those produced by Variant II Turbo (R2=0.9978). The 95% confidence interval (for differences from the NGSP target) was -0.3618-0.3343%. No significant interference of carbamylated hemoglobin was noted. CONCLUSIONS: The CAPILLARYS 2 FLEX Piercing analyzer showed excellent precision and linearity. Its results correlated with those obtained by the Variant II Turbo analyzer, and were agreement with the NGSP target. Therefore, its analytical performance is satisfactory for diabetes diagnosis and treatment monitoring.

We present a case of intradural extramedullary capillary hemangioma of the thoracic spine with a long segment of transient cord edema. Spinal capillary hemangiomas are extremely rare vascular tumors and only a few cases have been reported. On the MR images, the mass showed hypointensity on the T1-weighted images, hyperintensity on the T2-weighted images relative to the spinal cord, and strong homogeneous enhancement on the contrast-enhanced T1-weighted images. The T2-weighted images showed a long segment of ill-defined hyperintense area in the spinal cord which was completely resolved after surgery.

Capillary hemangioma of the testis is extremely rare. Because it is difficult to differentiate from malignant testicular tumors clinically and radiologically, radical orchiectomy is usually performed. Although the fate of hemangiomas of the testis left untreated is unknown, there is no evidence that hemangiomas become malignant. We report a case of a 2-year-old child with capillary hemangioma of the testis which was diagnosed as a malignant tumor preoperatively.

Korean Journal of Nephrology 2010;29(4):513-518
Systemic capillary leak syndrome (SCLS) is a rare devastating condition that is caused by unexplained marked capillary hyperpermeability, resulting in hypovolemic shock, hemoconcentration, and hypoproteinemia. Most patients have prodromal symptoms such as non-specific gastrointestinal symptoms, myalgia, or dizziness. In the current case, we observed the patient with recurrent SCLS show perivascular lymphocytic infiltration on skin biopsy and eosinophilic infiltrates on random biopsies from duodenum to colon. This finding might be due to distinct eosinophilic enterocolitis or secondary to SCLS. However, there has been rare data for the prevention of the recurrent attack of SCLS, although the mortality is high. Therefore, we report a case of frequently relapsing SCLS responding to the corticosteroid therapy.
